You Useless Woman!

CRASH!

"What kind of food is this?! I told you I don't like mushrooms, so why are you still cooking them?!" a 50-year-old middle-aged woman shouted at her daughter-in-law.

She threw the bowl of soup the woman had made for her husband's family lunch.

"I'm sorry, mother. I separated the mushrooms from your bowl, but it looks like there are still some left. This is Vincent's favorite soup, so I made this for him," the ginger-haired woman replied as she tried to pick up the broken pieces of the bowl.

"You're feeding my son with this?! You bitch!" The mother of the woman's husband slapped the woman. "My son is the CEO of the famous company Yozara, but you feed him only a cheap soup like this?!"

"She must have taken all of Vincent's money and used it for herself. You gold digger! Mom, she's so useless, I wonder why my brother would want her!" snapped a beautiful woman who was her sister-in-law.

They kept shouting and cursing at the daughter-in-law. Vincent, who had just come home, was confused as to why there was such a commotion in his house.

He immediately ran inside and saw his wife sitting on the floor picking up a glass bowl. Meanwhile, his mother and younger sister were shouting at her.

"Mom? Alice? What are you doing in my house? And... Odelia!"

The man quickly pulled his wife away from the broken glass that could injure her. "Don't pick it up without gloves, it's dangerous! Did you hurt your hand?" asked Vincent as he examined his wife's hand.

"I'm fine, I accidentally dropped the bowl because it was too hot," Odelia replied with a smile at how attentive her husband was to her.

"That's good then." He kissed his wife's palm then helped her to stand up. "Let me pick up the pieces."

"What the hell are you doing, Vincent? Let her do it! She's no good at all! Your mother and sister came here and he's serving us trash food!" his mother said.

"Mom, please don't say that. Odelia has put a lot of effort into cooking all these dishes and they taste really good, you should try them."

"You're defending her too much, Vin! Your wife is useless, even after four years of marriage, you haven't had any children, right? My friend has only been married for a year and already has a baby!"

"Watch what you say, Alice. She's still your sister-in-law!"

Samantha, the mother, continued to blame Odelia for not giving her a grandchild. Likewise, Alice helped her mother pressure her own brother's wife and called her barren.

Odelia felt so sad because every time they came to her house and Vincent, Samantha and Alice always put her down as if she was really useless because she couldn't produce children.

She and Vincent had known each other for two years, and were married for four years. However, during the six years of their relationship, Odelia did not conceive. And that was a problem that the two women always fussed over.

"Heh, you should have married Monica from the start instead of her, Vin! Monica is much more beautiful, educated and she's certainly not barren!"

The man could only remain silent without being able to say anything in defense of his wife. His mother and sister were always comparing Odelia to Monica, his ex girlfriend.

He knew that they didn't agree with his marriage to Odelia from the start, but Vincent insisted on it anyway. Thinking that one day Samantha and Alice would accept Odelia.

"I'm sorry, mother. I know I disappointed you, but I will try. I'm sure I'm not barren, I..."

"So you're saying that my son is infertile, is that it?! What a shameless woman!" Samantha pushed Odelia's head.

Vincent quickly caught his wife's body. "Are you okay?"

"Y-yes, thank you, dear," Odelia said, nodding her head slowly.

"Never mind, mom! Let's go to a restaurant instead of eating that rubbish!" Alice pulled her mother's hand to leave the house.

"When we come back, the room should be tidy!"

They both then left the couple. Odelia could only endure four years of being treated so badly by her mother-in-law and sister-in-law. Especially Vincent, who could not firmly defend her in front of the two of them.

"Forgive them, love. I hope you can be patient, I'm sure you're not infertile and we'll have a child soon," Vincent said, trying to comfort his wife.

He gently rubbed Odelia's head and then kissed her forehead.

"Yes, take it easy. I'll be fine," Odelia replied trying to cover up the pain she had been receiving all this time.

The ginger-haired woman also desperately wanted a child, especially from the man she loved so much. That is some women's biggest dream. To bear the child of someone they loved.

"Well then, where's my soup bowl? You made mushroom soup, right? I love it so much! Get a bowl full for me, love. I'll clean up this broken glass first." Vincent took the gloves and plastic and picked up the broken glass on the floor.

Odelia smiled at how Vincent was always supportive of her, he was even willing to give up his job as a secretary to a CEO in order to become a housewife so that he could take care of the housework and their children someday.

However, seeing how Vincent was always smiling, she knew that he was also enduring the sadness and loneliness of wanting a child.

"This is your favorite mushroom soup, dear. I added seaweed just the way you like it."

"Thank you, love." He spooned the soup and enjoyed dinner together with his beloved wife.

The warm soup, accompanied by Odelia's other dishes and the woman who was always there for him. Making all Vincent's tiredness disappear instantly, he felt this was a happiness he wanted to keep for the rest of his life.

"Vincent," she called.

"Yes, love?" he replied as he ate some delicious fried calamari.

"There's something I want, will you grant it for me?"

"Hmn? Sure." Vincent turned to Odelia. "In return you must kiss me, love. Tell me what you want, I will definitely grant it for you."

For a moment Odelia was silent, she felt a little hesitant to say it. However, Odelia opened her mouth again which surprised the man as soon as he heard it.

"I want you to get married again."
