Chapter 1: Elite Challenge

The broadcast blared, "It's the Kanto Region Elite Four Challenge!"

A young teenager, eyes glued to the screen, watched with excitement.

"Our challenger is Koga, a Pokémon master from Fuchsia City's Ninja clan!"

The commentator introduced Koga, a middle-aged man in a ninja suit, as he emerged from a passage.

The Kanto Region, home to the Indigo Plateau and the Kanto Alliance headquarters, was the setting for this thrilling battle.

The quartz arena, a long-standing venue, was the stage.

"Agatha, one of the current Elite Four and a master of Ghost-type Pokémon, will face this challenge,"

the narrator announced as the camera shifted to reveal an elderly woman with a wooden crutch.

"Who will win? Will Koga successfully challenge and become the new Elite Four? Or will Agatha defend her title?"

Koga and Agatha stood on opposite sides of the battlefield, awaiting the referee's instructions.

"The rules are simple: 6-on-6 duels. Both sides can switch Pokémon using Solaceon during the battle.

The first team to lose all Pokémon loses the match.

"The referee held a red flag for Koga and a green flag for Agatha.

The two combatants' headshots appeared on the arena's large screen, with six black circles beneath them representing their Pokémon.

"Let's determine who will attack first," the referee signaled.

"As the challenger, Koga will choose," Agatha replied, her hands resting on her crutches.

"Then I'll go first," Koga said calmly, meeting the referee's gaze.

"Let's flip a coin."A coin with Magikarp on one side and a number on the other was tossed.

It landed on the Magikarp side, granting Koga the first move.

"Koga will attack first. Which Pokémon will he send out?" the narrator exclaimed.

The teenager, filled with excitement, wished he were the one battling Agatha."Ash, Ash...!" A gentle voice called from downstairs.

"It's getting late. Don't you want to go to Professor Oak's tomorrow?"

"Yes, Mom," Ash replied, but his eyes remained fixed on the screen.

"I'll rest after the Elite Challenge."

"It's late, dear. Get some rest," his mother urged.

"You don't want to be late tomorrow."

"I won't be," Ash assured her, still watching the TV.

Koga pondered his choice.

Poison-type moves were halved against Ghost-type Pokémon, so he needed to choose carefully.

Many of his Pokémon were Poison or Bug-type, both of which were weak against Ghost.

"Crobat, it's your turn!"

Koga threw a Poké Ball, releasing the purple, bat-like Pokémon.Ash, who had unique insight into Pokémon information, saw Crobat's stats:

Crobat

Type: Poison, Flying

Category: Bat Pokémon

Ability: Mental Power;

Special Ability: Penetration

Strength: Elite level

"An Elite-level Crobat!" Ash exclaimed, impressed.

"Gengar,"

Agatha responded, sending out her own Pokémon. Gengar, a ghostly figure with a sinister grin, appeared.

Ash's unique insight revealed Gengar's stats:

Gengar

Type: Ghost, Poison

Category: Shadow Pokémon

Ability: Body of Curse

Strength: Champion level

"A champion-level Gengar!" Ash was astonished. "How is that possible? Agatha is only an Elite Four."He realized his mistake. There was no rule stating Elite Four members couldn't have champion-level Pokémon. With Agatha's experience, it was no surprise."The match begins!" The referee announced."Crobat, Confuse Ray!" Koga ordered, aiming to disrupt Gengar's movements.

"It seems that your Crobat doesn't usually practice Confuse Ray very much, the speed is too slow!" Agatha showed a calm smile on his weather-beaten face,

"Gengar, dodge Confuse Ray, and then use Mean Look !"

"Geng..." Gengar laughed strangely, turned around deftly, and narrowly avoided Confuse Ray, then stared with red eyes, and more than a dozen pairs of strange eyes appeared around Crobat!

Mean Look: A normal-type changing skill, the Pokémon hit by this skill cannot leave the battle for a short time.

In other words, the Crobat hit by Mean Look can no longer escape from the battle field until it loses its ability to fight!
