Chapter 139: Praying to the Mother-in-Law

Just when Brock was thinking this way, a touch of purple hair flashed in his eyes, and Brock immediately came back to his senses. He looked quickly and found the beautiful woman whom he saw earlier.

"It's her!" Brock didn't expect that he could really meet this woman again, and the time came so fast. So excited, he immediately chased after her.

But just when he was about to catch up, a short figure intercepted him. Brock didn't notice it at first, but after feeling that his clothes were caught, he realized that there was an extra person beside him: a granny.

The old woman looked very old, at least over eighty years old, holding a wooden staff, wearing a purple robe, with pale long hair that exceeded her waist, and looked less than one meter tall.

"Ma'am, is there anything I can help you with?" Although Brock was anxious to find that woman, but facing such an old person, he could only ask the old woman softly.

The old lady looked Brock up and down, then looked in the direction where the woman left earlier, her eyes narrowed slightly, she shook her head slightly, and didn't say much nonsense.

"You are quite polite, young man, so let me tell you something, don't get close to that beautiful woman, otherwise..." The old woman didn't finish her sentence, but her demeanor showed that it was obviously something bad.

"It's not easy to get close to the beautiful woman...is that woman?" Brock was slightly taken aback, not quite understanding what the old woman meant.

"That's all for now, if you don't want any accidents, just listen to me..." The old lady didn't say anything more to Brock, passed him and left.

"Wait, ma'am!"

Brock frowned slightly, a little puzzled, thinking about what the old lady said just now, and didn't care about chasing that woman. He turned around and followed the old lady's footsteps; he wanted to know more. And from what the old woman said, she seemed to know who that woman was.

The old lady didn't stop, and kept walking towards the outside of the street. Although Brock wanted to stop her, he couldn't do such a disrespectful thing, so he had to follow all the way.

Gradually, they left the town and came to a wilderness, not far from the town, and there was a hut here, which looked old and worn.

The old lady opened the door and went inside, but did not close the door, obviously letting Brock follow in.

Brock hesitated for a moment, but decided to follow into the house. At the entrance, he saw this simple hut.

"Sit down..." The old woman had already knelt down, pointed to the seat in front of her, and asked Brock to sit down.

"Excuse me." Brock nodded slightly, took off his shoes, and then knelt down in front of the old woman.

"Since you came here, it proves that you are destined to be with me, and you should not die." After looking at Brock, the old woman poured herself a glass of water, but she never thought about pouring water for Brock.

"Ma'am, what does this mean?" Brock asked the old woman in surprise.

"Did you see a girl with long purple hair before?" The old lady asked in a deep voice after taking a sip of cold tea.

"Yes!" Mentioning this woman, Brock lifted his spirits and asked excitedly, "Grandma, do you know that woman? Is she your granddaughter? Do you want to introduce her to me?"

"What are you thinking..." The old lady looked at Brock speechlessly, then shook her head, breaking Brock's fantasy, "Don't think about such things, even if I have a granddaughter, I won't introduce her to you."

"How come..." Brock was greatly shocked, and his whole body became gloomy.

"It's not my granddaughter; it's not even a human being..." There was silence in the room, which seemed a bit strange, but at this time, the old woman's voice sounded again.

"No... not a human being?!" Brock was obviously startled by the old woman's words, and asked with some slurred words.

"That's right..." The old woman nodded lightly, and then asked Brock, "Didn't you notice that the girl you saw... Did you seem to have seen her somewhere?"

"Where have I seen her...?" Brock was slightly taken aback, thought for a while, then shook his head, "Impossible, if I had met such a beautiful girl, I would never forget it!"

"You know, I'm a man who can clearly distinguish every Officer Jenny from Miss Joy! If I had seen such a beautiful girl, it is absolutely impossible for me to forget it!" Brock was very confident about this!

The old woman looked at Brock, who showed a confident expression, and felt speechless again; he was confident in this aspect... who was this...

"Okay..." The old lady sighed slightly, and then continued, "Since you said you haven't seen her, do you know the legend of Maiden's Peak?"

"I know this..." Brock nodded slightly, then stared at the old woman in surprise, as if he couldn't believe his guess, because the old woman couldn't bring up the legend of Maiden's Peak for no reason.

"That's exactly what you think..." The old woman seemed to have detected Brock's thoughts, and after taking a sip of tea, she nodded slightly.

"What?!" Brock looked at the old woman in astonishment, "You mean...she... she is a Ghost?!"

"Ghost?!" At the same time, Misty's exclamation sounded outside the house, and she seemed a little trembling, which made both Brock and the old woman look astonished.

"Misty?!" Brock stood up, opened the door, and found Ash and Misty outside, and Pikachu on Ash's shoulder, "Why are you here?"

"Of course, I came here with you. We saw you coming with the old lady just now, and we were a little worried about your situation, so we followed." Ash explained, and then looked at the old woman in the room.

"Hello, old lady, I'm sorry for taking the liberty to visit." Ash pulled Misty, who was a little scared because of the mention of Ghost, and said hello to the old lady.

"Pika, Pika..." Pikachu also jumped down and waved its little paw at the old woman.

"It's still polite; come in." After looking at Ash, Misty, and Pikachu, the old woman nodded slightly, signaling the group to come in.

"That... old woman, you just said that there is a Ghost..." Because she was outside the house, Misty didn't hear the conversation just now very clearly, only heard individual words.

At this time, she looked around nervously, for fear that a Ghost would appear suddenly.

After the incident was brought up again, the expressions of Ash and Brock also became serious, and the memory in Ash's mind gradually emerged; he remembered that there seemed to be a Ghost at Maiden's Peak.

It's just that the memory wasn't very deep; it was just a general memory of a Gastly...
