Chapter Forty One & Forty Two

"Elizabeth, long time no see", Queen Rose said with wrath and stood up when she saw Elizabeth appear at the door.

"Good afternoon, my queens", Lady Elizabeth stepped into the light. The queens began to whisper to one another and protest among themselves.

"What do you want?", Queen Mary asked and stood up. Queen Rose held Tim tighter in her hands and looked at Lady Elizabeth fiercely.

"Please calm down, my queen", Lady Elizabeth bowed her head.

"I'm here to apologize and declare my wrong doings. I am wrong and I'm sorry. I stole your child from you and used her for my selfish interest", Lady Elizabeth began to confess her sins.

The queens began to whisper to one another as she continued speaking.

"One way or the other, I've wronged all the queens that gather for this party. Please, find a place in your heart to forgive me of my sins", She begged.

"I can't forgive you for what you did, Elizabeth", Queen Rose spoke first.

"Me neither", Queen Mirabel spoke. "What we're you doing at my son's grave?"

Lady Elizabeth had cold feet when she heard that question. Yes, she was not supposed to be there, that's why she went so early in the morning. How was she supposed to know that Collins' mother would be there too?

"Cat got your tongue?", Queen Keelin glared.

"I went to pay him a visit and drop some flowers", Lady Elizabeth said.

"Really?", Queen Rose laughed hysterically and threw her off the wall with a raise of her finger.

Lady Elizabeth coughed as she struggled to stand up from the floor.

"I'm-I'm sorry", Lady Elizabeth coughed more.

"That was for kidnapping Evelyn for so many years", Queen Rose said and tightened her fists.

Lady Elizabeth's hand flew to her neck as she began to gasp for hair. The other queens stared at her in shock. Their eyes continued to move from Lady Elizabeth to the queen.

"Leave her alone, Rose. You'll kill her", Queen Mary said.

Queen Rose didn't let go even after hearing Mary's plea.

"Rose!", Queen Mary exclaimed and she finally let her go.

"Thank you, Queen Mary", Lady Elizabeth started to catch her breath and rubbed her neck.

"You know what that was for", Queen Rose patted Tim's back.

"I've forgiven you, Elizabeth", Queen Mary said.

"Thank you", Lady Elizabeth managed to smile at her.

"But I will never forgive you", Queen Rose said and walked out of the place after giving Tim back to Queen Mary.

Lady Elizabeth still stayed on the ground and stared hard at the retreating figure of Queen Rose. It was hatred that was in her eyes and heart for the queen. Most of the queens that were present.

The sound became louder and louder. Jamal's steps were quieter as he approached the kitchen with a frown. Who was in the kitchen by such a time of the night?

They were supposed to be asleep but he was hearing some crashing and he knows that it was not the cook.

Who could be the person?

All the maids were sleeping already in their quarters too so was it an invader?

He couldn't sleep so he had to go to check the person. He paused when he saw the person in the kitchen.

But…what was she doing there by that time?

Suddenly she looked back and gasped. She bowed her head and rinsed her hands.

"I'm so sorry if I woke you up, my king", The girl bowed her head and apologized to him.

He continued to stare at her as she spoke. "It's fine. I was awake though. Pardon my thinking. I thought you were an invader. What are you doing here by this time?"

"Oh! I shouldn't be here but I just ate my dinner and was washing my plates. I should have done that sooner", She further apologized.

"Why are you just eating your dinner?", He asked and she blinked.

"I was going through some stuff so I decided to eat this late. I'm so sorry", It was obvious that she was very nervous.

"Do I make you nervous?", Jamal asked when she kept fidgeting with her dress.

"Well, yeah", The girl replied and he laughed.

He walked into the kitchen and she moved back. She doesn't know what he wants in the kitchen because he shouldn't be there.

"What's your name?", He asked.

"Christiana", She answered and he smiled.

"Christiana", He called her name softly.

"Yeah", She said. "Would you like me to prepare you a meal or something you'd like to eat?", She asked.

"What? No", He chuckled.

"What's your job here?", Jamal asked because she was really beautiful to be a maid or anything like a servant.

"I make the desserts", Christiana said.

""Really?", Jamal's eyes lit up with excitement when he heard that from her.

So, she has been the one making those delicious desserts he had been munching on ever since he had been a king.

"Yes", She replied.

"That's lovely. I love your desserts. From the cake to the cream", He appreciated her work and she chuckled lightly.

"You flatter me, King Jamal", Christiana laughed.

Jamal felt nice to see her laugh. She had said that she was going through something so he had to make her feel fine.

"So, how old are you?", King Jamal asked her.

"I'm twenty four. You?", She asked and gasped when she asked him.

She quickly bowed her head and apologized to him.

"Forget that I asked you that. I never did", She waved her palm.

"I'm twenty six", Jamal answered with a soft chuckle.

"But-"

"Yes, you did ask", Jamal interrupted her.

"Oh", That was the only thing that she said.

"So, what made you work here as a chef?", Jamal further asked because he was really curious.

"I was searching for a job and the pay is very good. It would sustain me and my little brother in the school", Christiana said.

"May I ask how much your pay is?", Jamal pressed on.

"Seventy three thousand dollars per month", Christiana said.

"Nice, isn't it?", Jamal asked and she nodded.

"What did you study in the university?", He asked her.

"Business", She replied and he nodded.

"You?", She asked.

"Law", He replied and she widened her eyes.

"I can see why you're so dictating", Christiana laughed and he furrowed his brows.

'Is that what his people are saying about him?', He thought.

"Am I harsh?", He asked gently.

"No but there are rumors. I don't believe them though. I already met you", She smiled and he smiled back.

"That's nice to hear. Nice to meet and talk with you", He said.

"Well, this isn't the first time I'm seeing you though. Then, I must have looked like an ugly horse", Christina said and he laughed.

"I don't think we've met before. I must have looked familiar", Jamal added and she shook her head.

"Happiness. My sister's name. You were dating her then. In high school, remember?", Christina said and he widened his eyes.

"What? You're a twin?", He asked.

"Was", She corrected him. "Happiness died before she graduated from high school. She had a hole in her heart. She was lucky to go out with you then", Christina smiled.

"Why?"

"She liked you a lot and going out with you was the first thing on her bucket list. I'm so glad that it worked out for you both before she died", Christiana said sadly.

"I'm so sorry", Jamal whispered and she nodded.

"It's fine. I'm sorry for being up the past. That has nothing to do with you. I'm so silly", She sniffed.

He held her hand and raised her chin up, "Hey, look at me. I'm not selfish or inconsiderate. I have to feel when someone is hurting okay. I still have what we call 'feelings' so I'm not a monster as some people portrays me to be"

"I never knew your sister passed on so soon. We broke up because I was going far away for university. Hawaii was so far from Greece. That was my grandmother's house and I had to come back to my kingdom. But you should have told me"

"We weren't close", She rolled her eyes.

"Did you just-"

"No. I'm so sorry", She apologized and he laughed.

"It's fine", He heaved. "People like you don't take me serious because I'm too handsome to be a king"

She began to laugh and kept on apologizing. Well, it was the truth.

"Good night, king Jamal", Christiana said and disappeared from the kitchen quickly.

Yoona clutched Alexis' arm and asked, "How did you know I had always wanted to come here?"

"I saw your instagram post three years ago", He said and she blushed.

How the hell did he still remember what she posted on the internet three years ago?

As they began to approach the reception, Yoona's grip on his hand tightened and she began to frown.

Alexis kept a straight face as he also approached the place.

"We're here for the reservation made on Tuesday for table silver 9a", Alexis spoke.

A lady turned to the direction she heard the voice and gasped. "Oh my God! Is it really you, Alexis?

"Hey", Alexis said briefly and continued to wait for the receptionist.

"Who is she?", The lady asked.

"Hi! I'm Yoona, his wife", Yoona introduced herself and held the lady's hand rather too tight.

"Oh! Nice to meet you, Yoona", The lady said and looked at Alexis. "I didn't know you would fall in love with a Korean given the way you don't like watching their movies"

"Movies, girl. Not human", Yoona rolled her eyes. It was obvious that she was trying to pick a fight.

"Ah! Forgive me. I haven't been able to introduce myself", The lady laughed.

"I know who you are", Yoona smiled and held Alexis tighter.

"Oh! I didn't know he had told you about me", The lady smiled at Alexis. To her, she didn't know Alexis would still talk about her to his wife.

"Yeah. You're Brittany, the cheap ex-girlfriend that cheated on her boyfriend because he went to the military", Yoona said and Brittany gasped.

Brittany looked at Alexis and began to heave with annoyance. How dare he tell her that?

"Well, I see a misunderstanding here", Brittany rubbed her palm. "I didn't really cheat on him"

"That doesn't matter anyway, Brittany. We're married so we don't care about what really happened. Besides, you should focus on your partner so he can do this to you soon", Yoona purposely interlocked her hand with that of Alexis and raised it up to show off the pretty couple rings on their slender finger.

Yoona was glad that she had bought she and Alexis matching rings a week ago. It was even better that they both wore it that day.m

"Oh! Congratulations", Brittany said and forced herself to smile so hard.

"You should say that again. I'm three weeks pregnant too", Yoona rubbed her stomach and smiled sweetly at Brittany.

Brittany's smile fell when she saw that. She was planning to steal Alexis from her when she heard that. She had already had a plan in her head to seduce him since he was married.

Seeing him a couple times and showing her boobs and thigh should have done the work but the bitch just had to spoil her plan by saying she was pregnant for him.

"Really?", Brittany searched Alexis' eyes for lies if she could find some. She prayed that she could because he's so rich now. He's so fine and comfortable but here she is. Running into the hands of one man to another for food, money and dick.

"It's perfect for you. It's like they're aware of your presence", Yoona patted Brittany's shoulder who looked at her with anger.

"I'm so sorry. It seems like you didn't make a reservation. We never received any payment for a reservation from your partner", The receptionist said as she looked at her computer.

"Really? They must have reversed the money into my bank", Brittany's partner said.

Brittany gritted her teeth and folded her palm. Why does he have to embarrass her in front of her ex-boyfriend that recently became somebody's husband? Why does he have to embarrass her in front of that bitch that call herself a wife?

"Please follow me to your table silver 9a", The receptionist said and led Yoona and Alexis to their table.

Brittany opened her palm very quickly to see what Yoona had there. Yoona had stuffed some cash into her palm. She must have done that because she and her partner couldn't make it for their reservation.

"Bitch!", Brittany exclaimed and folded the cash so tightly and walked out of the place.

"You're so good, my liar", Alexis dragged Yoona to himself and kissed her temple.

"We have a menu for married couples if you want that", The waiter said as he saw they were all lovey-dovey.

"What?"

"Not yet. But we'll come here soon when we're married", Alexis looked at his name tag "Simon"

"You have a beautiful girlfriend", Simon said

"Thank you, Simon", Alexis said and held Yoona's hands with love in his eyes.
