Chapter 27: End of May – New Directions

The month of May was coming to an end, and with it came a series of memorable events for Kendall and Bad Bunny. The weeks had been intense, full of commitments and events that made Thomas's constant presence increasingly important. However, towards the end of the month, Thomas had to discuss with Kendall a significant change in their plans.

It was a Friday afternoon, and the sun was beginning to set, casting a golden light over the city of Los Angeles. Kendall and Thomas were in the garden of Kendall's mansion, enjoying a moment of calm before an evening event. The gentle breeze swayed the palm fronds around them, creating a peaceful environment for the upcoming conversation.

Kendall was relaxed on a lounge chair, wearing a light and comfortable dress, while Thomas was dressed casually, in a linen shirt and jeans. The atmosphere was relaxed, but Thomas was clearly thinking about something important. Kendall, noticing Thomas' thoughtful expression, decided to start the conversation.

"Thomas, you seem a little distant today. Did something happen?" Kendall asked, looking at him curiously.

Thomas, settling into the lounge chair next to Kendall, took a deep breath before answering.

"Yes, actually, I wanted to talk to you about something," he said hesitantly. "I've received some very interesting job offers, and I'm considering accepting them."

Kendall frowned, worried.

"Job offers?" she repeated. "That's great for you, but what does that mean for us?"

Thomas began to explain the situation in more detail, aware that the impact of his decision could be significant.

"I've received offers to work on some security and consulting assignments that are a little out of the ordinary for me, and the truth is that they're opportunities that I can't just ignore," he said. "However, it does mean that I would need to be away for a few months." Kendall's look of concern deepened. She had grown accustomed to Thomas's constant presence, and the idea of him being away for an extended period of time made her uneasy.

"So, what you're saying is that you're going to be gone for a few months?" Kendall asked, trying to make sense of the situation.

Thomas nodded, a look of determination on his face.

"Yes, but I wanted to make sure you know that I'll be just a phone call away," he said, trying to ease Kendall's concern. "I can come back to do your security in August, if that's feasible for you. I just need to take advantage of these opportunities so I don't miss out on what could be a huge career opportunity."

Kendall took a deep breath, trying to process Thomas's words. She knew how important these opportunities were to him, and despite her concern, she wanted to support him.

"I understand, Thomas," she said after a moment of thought. "I'm really going to miss you, but I understand that this is something you can't pass up."

To make the most of the time left before Thomas's departure, Kendall and Thomas attended a charity event that was scheduled for that weekend. The event was a fundraising gala for a local charity, and it was one of the last opportunities Kendall would have to spend time with Thomas before he left.

Thomas stood out at the gala with his usual poise and elegance, while Kendall looked stunning in a long, sparkling gown. Thomas remained close to her throughout the event, ensuring that the evening was safe and relaxed. Kendall, in turn, enjoyed her time with Thomas, chatting and sharing laughs as the night wore on.

"I'm going to miss these moments," Kendall said as they danced together on the dance floor. "Your presence made everything easier and safer."

Thomas smiled, looking at Kendall with a warm look.

"I'm going to miss this too," he replied. "But remember, I'm always there if you need anything."

After the event, Thomas and Kendall had a moment alone before he left for his new missions. They were in the mansion's garden, where the tranquil setting reflected the gravity of the conversation.

"I just want you to know that I'll be here for anything you need," Thomas said, looking into Kendall's eyes. "And in August, I'll be back to take care of your safety again." Kendall smiled, trying to maintain her composure despite the sadness of saying goodbye.

"I trust you, Thomas," she said. "And I know you'll do a great job, wherever you go."

They hugged, a gesture full of friendship and gratitude, and Thomas promised to keep in touch. She knew he was pursuing his passions and opportunities, and at the same time, she felt how much he would be missed in her daily life.

In the days that followed, Kendall adjusted to the new routine without Thomas. Although she felt his absence, she knew he was on an important path and that when he returned, they would be ready to get back into the routine and continue building the relationship they had developed.

The month of May ended with the certainty that changes were on the way, but also with the confidence that Thomas and Kendall would maintain a strong connection, regardless of the distance. The promise to return and continued communication would ensure that their relationship remained solid, while Thomas embraced new opportunities and Kendall moved on with her life and commitments.
