Chapter 56: The Goodbye Cry

December began with a soft and festive atmosphere in Los Angeles. Taylor Swift and Thomas were at Taylor's house, enjoying a quiet evening. The Christmas tree lights were twinkling softly, and a series they both liked was playing on the television. The atmosphere was relaxed and comfortable, with the TV broadcasting soft images that perfectly matched the atmosphere of the room.

Taylor was snuggled next to Thomas, both lying on her bed, wrapped in warm blankets. The conversation was quiet, and the two were immersed in the series, when the sound of a phone ringing interrupted the calm. Thomas, a little surprised by the sudden ringing, picked up the phone and looked at the screen. It was a call from Kendall.

He frowned, thinking that maybe it was a mistake. Kendall had given him the day off, so an unexpected call was not something he expected. Concern began to form when he realized that Kendall was crying on the other end of the line.

Thomas answered the call immediately.

— "Kendall? What happened?" His voice was full of concern.

— "Thomas... I... I need you. Please come to my house," Kendall sobbed, his voice barely audible.

Thomas felt a chill run down his spine and looked at Taylor with a serious expression.

— "I'll be right there," Thomas said before hanging up.

He quickly got up from the bed and started putting on his shoes. Taylor, watching the scene, noticed the seriousness in Thomas's expression and asked:

— "What happened, Thomas?"

— "Kendall is in crisis. She's crying a lot and needs help. I'm going to her house now."

Taylor got up immediately and, without hesitation, grabbed her coat and prepared to follow Thomas.

— "I'll go with you," Taylor said, with determination. "If Kendall needs support, I want to be there for her too."

The two quickly left the house and went to Thomas's car. The drive to Kendall's house was marked by a tense silence. They were both immersed in thoughts of what could have happened. Thomas's mind was full of questions and his concern for Kendall grew with each passing minute.

When they arrived at Kendall's house, they found the entrance lit with soft light. Thomas parked the car and, with Taylor at his side, headed to the front door. Kendall answered the doorbell with a haggard expression. Her eyes were puffy and red from crying.

"Kendall," Thomas greeted her softly, trying to hide the concern he felt. "What happened?"

Kendall let him in and stepped aside to give him space. She led Thomas and Taylor into the living room, where she sat on the couch, her posture tired and haggard. Taylor, seeing Kendall's condition, went over to her and sat down next to her. Thomas, with a look of concern, watched the scene.

— "I broke up with Bad Bunny," Kendall finally confessed, her voice still cracking from crying. "He released a song and went into detail about what we do in the bedroom. He described everything in a way that's impossible to ignore. I… I can't deal with it."

Thomas and Taylor exchanged surprised glances. The situation was more serious than Thomas had imagined. He approached Kendall and gently pulled her onto his lap, trying to provide some comfort.

— "Kendall, I'm so sorry about this. This must be really hard for you," Thomas said in a calm, soothing tone. "We're here to support you. Tell me more about it."

Kendall snuggled into Thomas' lap, her tears slowly subsiding. She began to pour out her heart about the pain she felt and how the public exposure had affected her self-esteem and her relationship. Taylor, nearby, ran her hand tenderly through Kendall's hair, offering a gesture of silent comfort.

— "I don't know how he could do this," Kendall continued, her voice softer now. "I felt so vulnerable and exposed. I don't know what to do to get through this."

Thomas gently stroked Kendall's hair and tried to calm her down.

— "You're an amazing person, Kendall. No one has the right to treat you this way. You have the support of people who care about you, and we'll get through this together," Thomas said firmly.

Taylor nodded, looking at Kendall with empathy.

— "I'm here for you too, Kendall. We can find a way to deal with this and move on. If you need to talk more or just a shoulder to cry on, I'm here."

The room was charged with emotions, but Thomas and Taylor's presence brought a sense of security to Kendall. Their connection seemed to help ease some of the pain Kendall was feeling.

Thomas decided to make some tea and called the kitchen, looking for something that could help calm Kendall. Taylor stood next to Kendall, talking to her and offering words of encouragement.

— "Thank you for being here," Kendall said in a calmer tone of voice, looking at Thomas and Taylor. "I really needed this."

— "No need to thank you," Thomas replied, his gaze gentle. "We're here for you, always."

Taylor smiled and gave Kendall's shoulder a gentle squeeze.

— "We'll get through this together," Taylor said. "And we'll find a way to overcome this challenge. You're not alone."

The evening wore on, and as time passed, the conversation continued to be comforting. Thomas and Taylor's presence helped Kendall find some relief in the midst of her pain. Their friendship and support were a balm to Kendall's heart, and she began to feel that, despite the hardships, she had a strong support network by her side.

When it was time to say goodbye, Thomas and Taylor prepared to leave. Kendall was calmer and grateful for the support she had received.

— "I'll feel better after talking to you guys," Kendall said. "Thank you for everything."

— "Take care, Kendall," Thomas said as he stood up. "And remember, we're here for you whenever you need us."

Taylor also gave her a warm hug.

— "Let's stay in touch and support each other. Don't hesitate to reach out," Taylor said.

Thomas and Taylor left Kendall's house and headed to the car. The drive back was more peaceful, with both reflecting on how important it was to be there for those we love in difficult times.

When they arrived back at Taylor's house, the evening was calm, and the atmosphere seemed more serene. Thomas and Taylor sat together, thinking about how essential mutual support was to overcoming life's challenges. They were ready to face the coming days, certain that, despite the adversities, the bond between them was strong and resilient.
