Mission

"Alright, soldiers. We have just been given a job to do."

"Ethan! Get the gears ready, we depart for Lastrak for the tier 5: Komodo dragon."

" That's an improvement but quite suspicious, that's a high tier beast, ''a soldier said worriedly.

Ignoring the soldier, the massive chest continued, "any chicken-hearted individual should make himself or herself scarce."

Facing each of them to see who would back out, there were none. "I thought as much."

" We depart now as an emergency, and you all should be proud of having been given this job and leaving this hellhole.

Ethan packed the gear, loading ammunition, clothing and first aid kits.

This operation was fishy. For such a high tier beast it had been the low-class underground to do the work.

Taking the bags which weighed him down, he followed them out arriving at a ship depot, sixteen of them entered.

The ship's anchor was released, a closure underground opened like a package, and the ships landed on the water.

They began their voyage to Latrax. Ethan could feel his excitement of going to a different place.

The season breeze cool on his skin, not like the harsh climate of Xylonia force.

"Just look at how beautiful the color of the water is, a soldier cooed happily."

This was their third day on the sea, the waters had changed its colors multiple times.

All looked in awe, so much water, while there was a limited source of water at home.

A beautiful fish jumped up, it's body, a blue shade of the water with yellow eyes came out for a moment, disappearing again into the water.

A small while after the fish had made that show, the ship rocked dangerously sideways, almost tipping them into the water.

Massive chest came out, bellowing at the soldier on the wheel, ''don't be sea sick there! Make another of that and you will be thrown overboard.''

Ethan watched the man grip the wheel, his knuckles white and sweat beading his face.

Wasn't he the one who volunteered for that?

The water became still, no small waves, no jumping fishes dived in or out. They were now a distance from the island.

''Why's the water so still?

" Yeah, it's too still. In alarm, ''Mush is going to lose the steering just as the wheel man fell.

The wheel rotated dangerously, making the ship move up and down, left and right.

Ethan rushed to the wheel instinctively before any could get there, his hands holding the wheel, gritting his teeth as he used all his strength.

They stood watching him struggle, laughing at how his face twisted as he held the wheel.

Finally exhausted and was about to leave the wheel, a massive face came in barking.

" Who the hell gave unclassified, the wheel?

Ethan was pushed aside as a blue-eyed took the wheel from him, sneering with disgust.

"Just how worthless are you?"

Was that a compliment? Ethan asked the blue-eyed, his face blank.

"You are lucky am at the wheel because I sure would teach you how to shut your unruly mouth." Seethed, blue-eyed.

Ethan struggled his shoulders in a carefree attitude, he was getting annoyed of this nonsense behavior of them.

They reached the island, anchoring their ship, and ventured into Latrax.

The island had a different scene, tall trees with branches–like- spines holding withered flowers, it's bark like a decomposed wood.

The ground was muddy with little worms the size of his feet wriggling on it.

Deeper into the island while avoiding the worms, which relaxed like it wasn't dangerous.

A gray fog was drifting towards them, blocking their path, but they could still see the outlines of the trees.

" Caught a jack pot, called a brunette lady pointing out a hive filled with dripping honey.

Ethan moved close, mouth watering. Sweet honey, it had been… He couldn't remember when he tasted honey.

The lady checked the hive, but there were no bees, bingo! she drove her hands into the honey collected, placing it on her tongue.

Ethan held his breath, the brunette was so stupid for such a scene that greeted them, it didn't upset her one beat and just stuck the honey into her mouth.

Her lips moved. After a while, she nodded her head and the soldiers lunged at the honey like a thirsty man in a desert would do to any source of available water.

Ethan hesitated, curious, but he wasn't the only one, 8 soldiers stood apart, including a massive chest.

Where were the bees, such honey in such an unnatural place and tasted exquisite? The mawkish color worms. Eww.

His face twisted with disgust. He peered through the fog as he saw a great flurry of wings approaching them.

" Incoming! Bees! Shoot.

Series of flames rose from the fire abilities, those with guns sprayed bullets, some dropping to the floor and some hitting the bees.

They drew nearer, the angry buzzing a nightmare to the ears. They had teeth's! Their dark green eyes on their bug–like heads.

He had no weapon, an unclassified was not allowed to wield any weapon from the inventory.

That left hiding. He watched massive chest pull out his blade and whack an angry buzzing bee like he was playing crickets.

Whack! Whack, Slice! Slice.

A small-sized bee eventually went unnoticed as it made its way to sneering blue-eyed and entered his clothes.

Ethan had planted himself beside a massive tree it's torns slightly piercing his skin, it's bark wet and filled with fungus and little mushrooms.

Blue-eyed hollered so loud in pain, the bee had bitten him, and Ethan couldn't help but wince for him.

That had solidified the stay in hiding, he didn't want any of his body part swollen.

Massive chest made his way to blue-eyed and tried helping him, but in the course of helping him by swinging his bat–like blade.

He slapped it on the chest right on the bee who bit deeper onto blue-eyed's skin as it died, took blue-eyed down with it.

He was dead and had immediately begun decomposing, like he had been dead for weeks. This was another display of what they could do.

Those who had tasted the honey, crumbled to the ground, their breathing slow. They clutched at their throats. Faces scrunched In pain.

They swatted beside them at an imaginary bee, Ethan too could not see the bees, but he heard their angry buzzing.

They skin shriveling, fire streaming from their hands burning the invisible bees. But they were overwhelmed.

***

It was finally over with just 9 including Ethan, they had to move on, but we're cautious. The worms twitched moving towards the dead soldiers and making themselves home.

" What a delicious food, hmm. Massive chest, hands on his blade, looked in fascination as they burrowed fast into the bodies.

Ethan couldn't look. They turned to him, surprise in their faces.

" Were you hiding all this while? Because that's the greatest you can do. The brown-eyed soldier asked, his slightly full mouth moving.

" There's no need. Let's locate the Komodo dragon and be done with it.

**

They got to the entrance of the cave which would house the dragon, Ethan would be their bait to lure it out.

Massive chest signaled his companions, who nodded. Ethan saw the exchange and did not like it one bit.

" We aren't going to force you except you want it, be a good unclassified and put your name in the history books.

Advancing towards him a ball of fire, earth springing up from all sides blocking any escape.

Ethan had no choice but to enter the cave, worry lines framing his mouth and tugged at his eyes.

The dragon hadn't yet made his appearance, perhaps it was sleeping, but he wasn't sure, the cave was dark.

Entering into the cave, he found that the wasn't just small, it was long and cold. He turned back, nerves in a fry, to check if he could still see their outline.

There was none, had they left? Didn't that spell doom for him? He stopped walking and listened. Somewhere water trickled making a pom sound.

Looking left, he made out the shape of eggs already hatched.

Ethan thought now was the time to go out of the cave, but the heavy thud and radiated from the ground into his body.

Every walking step was mighty as its tail swished left and right, those outside were probably dead by now and soon it would come in
