Damien's POV.

I walked through the corridor, my heart heavy as lead. I kept convincing myself, it was what she wanted.

—Since that was what she wanted, then I should accept it and move on. At least, that was what I deserved after all the pain my family and I had caused her.

"Damien!" Raymond's annoying voice suddenly filled the corridor but I ignored him. I wasn't in the right state of mind to entertain him.

I started climbing down the flights of stairs. But Raymond stubbornly followed after me to the point where I could no longer just ignore him.

I abruptly stopped walking and grunted at him. "What do you want?"

"The soldiers, they have started their training sessions, didn't you want to be part of it?" Raymond demanded.

I rolled my eyes and resumed walking. "I'm not in the mood. Let them carry on," I scoffed.

Raymond pressed on. "But Damien you really—"
