Damien's POV.
My head felt alien, like an axe was logged between it. The pain was excruciating and pressing. I felt it long before I woke up.
If trees could feel like normal people, this must be what they felt when the logger split their trunks apart.
It made me want to jump on my feet. But I knew it would only be worse when I opened my eyes. So I took my time, allowing my body to get accustomed to it.
Finally, I opened my eyes in slits, the curtains were down which I was grateful for. But the ache was still there.
I was going to search the room for a glass of water when my eyes fell on a presence beside me.
Instantly, my heart leapt.
First problem was that the presence beside me was a female. And the second was that it wasn't Arielle, yet it smelled familiar.
I soon found myself regretting my actions as I turned my head to see Cecilia cuddling me.
