H.I.S. 44

*Scarlet point of view*

Days passed, but the mystery remained. The headmistress had promised to investigate, yet all she'd asked from us was silence about the strange events in the labyrinth. We were to tell no one. If we were asked by our classmates, we should keep in silent and just pretend we didn't know anything.

One evening, as we sat quietly in the common room, Jenna broke the silence. "Do you think we'll ever know what really happened?" she asked, her voice barely above a whisper.

Sera shook her head. "Maybe… but I doubt we'll like the answer."

I glanced around to make sure no one was listening. "If the headmistress can't even explain it, maybe it's something bigger than the maze. Something… none of us were meant to find."

The room fell silent again, a heavy unease settling over us.

Jenna sighed, breaking the tension. "Let's forget about it for now and get some sleep."
