Lately, I noticed something different about Scarlet. Ever since the dragon-riding competition, she barely joined us for meals. Instead, she started eating with this other girl she met. It wasn't like her to distance herself like this.
"Sera," I called out as we sat in the common area.
"Hm?" she replied without looking up from her book.
"Have you noticed anything... strange about Scarlet lately?" I asked, leaning closer.
Sera finally looked up, raising an eyebrow. "What do you mean?"
"I mean, she's been acting... different. She barely eats with us anymore. She's always with that girl," I said, crossing my arms. "Don't you think it's weird?"
Sera tilted her head, thinking. "You're talking about the girl she went yesterday, right? Isn't she her classmate from one of the class?"
"Yeah, her," I muttered. "Do you think they're close?"
