"I just think I should go check out the police station!" Atlas raised his arms up slightly aggressively.
"What do you mean check it out? It caused Justin to betray us! What If it does something to you too?"
Ragnar was also getting heated because of the argument.
Alicia looked up at Julie and asked anxiously "Why are those two fighting?"
Julie rolled her eyes and sighed.
"Atlas wants to go to the police station bit Ragnar isn't agreeing with him"
Alicia tilted her head slightly "isn't it just the police station? What's so dangerous about it? No! Don't tell its been taken over by the Syndicate!"
Julie raised a brow at her words.
"The Syndicate? Now I wonder who could've told you about them..." She glanced at Atlas for a brief moment.
"No, it's due to different reasons"
"But then why are they fighting? Dad and Atlas are always on good terms"
"Yeah, maybe even a bit too much"
"I'm not sure about Atlas, but your father over there is slightly... stressed right now" She seemed slightly eerked out while talking.
"Anyways, boys will be boys. Nothing we can do about those two" She lent her hand to Alicia and continued.
"Now I hope you don't find someone like them when you grow up... If you can still find someone after all this bullshit"
...
Atlas layed down on his bed with a few system screens in front of him.
"Sigh... What do I do now?"
He dismissed the screens and continued emptily stare at the roof.
Knock*
He turned to the door and questioned "Who is it?"
A slight creak came from the door as Alicia peeked through.
"Can I come in?"
Atlas sat up and patted the spot on the bed next to him.
"Sure kidoo, come here"
She quickly entered and sat next to Atlas.
"A-Are you still mad at dad?"
Atlas sighed and answered "Not mad... Just disappointed"
Alicia asked, confused "Dissapointed?"
"Yep. He doesn't trust me enough to go to the police station"
"But why! I'm pretty sure it's a valid reason"
"He thinks that the... bad person who has taken over the place will defeat me"
Alicia objected "But Julie said that the Syndicate didn't take over it!"
"Well the Syndicate isn't the only opposing force us it seems..."
After Atlas finished speaking no one broke the silence for a solid few minutes.
"..."
Eventually Alicia spoke.
"How long are you going to fight with dad for?"
"...Yes"
"That's not a real answer you know"
Atlas sighed and patted Alicia's head.
"Hahhh... Guess even I'm not sure. I don't know exactly how he was feeling before we fought but right now neither of us are in a good state of mind"
"I'll hold off on talking to him for sometime, but I hope we can get back to good terms soon. We don't fight often to be honest and this is a rare occasion"
Alicia got up and smiled "Yep! That's great! It's always good to give each other some time!"
Atlas raised an eyebrow "Anyways, I'm sure you have had something to say for some time now, since I came back probably. Isn't that why you were acting so... Not like your age?"
"Wh-What do you mean?"
Atlas scoffed "Don't 'wa-wa what do you mean me'. You were like 'WOAH' and 'Tell me stories'. Don't think I didn't notice your... how do I put it... childlike wonder act?"
Atlas tilted his head for a moment but refocused soon after.
"Haha... You already know it was to get into your good books and not to fool you already don't you? Haha..."
She looked down embarrassed and relented.
"Alright alright... So I kinda want you to bring Grandpa here... I know he is most likely with the rest of the people and dad and him aren't in a good relationship"
"But I really want him to be safe!"
Atlas awkwardly turned his head to his backpack with a certain letter and more.
"Umm well... you see, I forgot to tell you something"
...
"So Ragnar, why did you come here?"
Ragnar walked towards Julie with a gloomy aura around him.
"What do you think? I want some advice"
"And why should I give you that?"
Ragnar tried to give off a smile.
"Because we're friends!"
"Not after the way you treated me before!" Julie continued and turned around, continuing her work.
Ragnar was ready to leave but stopped after hearing her say "I'll listen, but don't expect full attention"
Ragnar's mouth curled slightly but that didn't change the sad energy around him.
"I got into a fight with Atlas... As you say before"
"And its just that I don't know why I didn't so angry... And why I'm feeling so irritable recently"
Julie turned back at him with a dead pan expression and pushed her glasses up with her middle finger.
'Is she flipping me off?'
"Just so you know yes I am flipping you off"
"Anyways I'm pretty sure you already know it yourself. Don't delude yourself. I, atleast, if not all the people close to you know how smart you can be"
She turned around and took off her rubber gloves, throwing them at a nearby trash can.
As the gloves made a slow arc she continued speaking.
"I know I'm being blunt, but you should really stop dwelling on the past"
And as the gloves hit the inside of the trash can she finished speaking.
"And just like those gloves, you better leave before I chuck u away"
Ragnar scoffed at her and turned around.
"Maybe she's right... Yeah no, she is right!"
He smiled and left the room but quickly realized something.
"Wait... Atlas is pretty unpredictable... How would he be reacting to the argument...?"
