Chapter 12: The Boring Prophet of the Universe

This morning, my heart was like an eager drummer, hammering away at the boring party agenda. In the atmosphere of the office, today is the moment to unveil this new adventure. The alien, the mysterious visitor we've been waiting for, will arrive today. At this moment, it's as if everything is waiting for an absolute upset." Xiao Li, are you ready for your boring song?" I asked him, and he smiled, guitar in hand, his previous confidence seeming to grow stronger in the excitement. "Of course. I will do my best to impress the aliens!" He raised his chin like an absolute focus of confidence. Even the light outside the window seemed to shine more brightly at this moment.

Suddenly, Xiao Zhang interjected: "I think if the aliens think our boring activities are too ordinary, then we really need to prepare something special." There was a touch of irony in his tone, mixed with a sense of anticipation, that made me think about what was coming next." For example, we could design a boring dance!" I laughed in response, with absurd visions of what the future might look like.

"Boring dance? The effect would be so good it would probably make aliens squirt liquid with laughter!" Xiao Li said, waving his hand and performing some strange dance steps, which made everyone laugh. At that moment, the door to the office was pushed open, and there was a moment of silence and a strange tension in the air.

We're not looking at aliens, we're looking at our boss. His face was black, as if he were ready to turn on the boredom penalty. What are you doing?" "He said, glancing quickly over us, as if afraid to miss something. In my heart, I began to wonder if I would be caught on the spot. \n

"Oh, we're planning a boring themed group building event!" I tried to give my boss a head start by responding with my sunniest smile.

His face softened a little, but there was still something strange in it. Boring theme group building? That sounds fascinating, and I'd love to see what you do tomorrow." He stepped closer, as if to indicate something. However, my heart secretly rejoiced that this unexpected plot just added a lot of drama to the upcoming alien party!

"Group building activities," the boss's tone is still not a bit warm, "you must let me see, tomorrow I will personally supervise." This sentence struck me like a bolt of lightning and made me instantly out of my soul. Aliens... League Construction... Supervisors... My mind started spinning like crazy, and I didn't know how to deal with it.

"Yes, of course, it will be an eye-opener!" I smiled awkwardly, thinking that tonight's rehearsal had to be ramped up, and I had to make sure all my colleagues didn't lead us down a dark slope at tomorrow's party. Xiao Li and Xiao Zhang looked at me with a hint of panic in their eyes, and the three of us were now linked by invisible threads.

"I look forward to seeing your ideas," the boss said, and turned to leave, the light dimmed at the door and the office returned to its original state. I breathed a sigh of relief and was about to say something, but Xiao Li's hand grasped my wrist and dragged me directly to the conference table.

"What do you think? Aliens can come, but the boss has to supervise our boredom, it is a perfect match!" Xiao Zhang couldn't help but giggle, as if he couldn't help himself. I glared at him, but the corners of my mouth could not help but twitch, my heart said: probably really is the arrangement of the universe.

"We must keep both the aliens and the boss happy!" I raised my voice. "Tomorrow we're going to make this boring party so much that even our boss can't help applauding." Everyone roared with laughter, and it was clear that I was a natural funny guy.

Xiao Li lay down on the table and sighed, "But I'm still a little afraid, if the aliens really sit next to the boss and hear our boring song..." He thought for a moment and shook his head as if he had seen the alien gawk. The more we talked, the more excited we became, as if this sensational party was already thriving in our minds.

"Then we'll have to rehearse more tonight!" I tapped the table, and everyone's eyes focused on me, feeling that this boring night was still frantically calling for new challenges.

"Well, everybody, tonight's rehearsal wasn't just boring!" I shouted, lighting up the office. "We need to take advantage of this opportunity to let our alien friends feel the power of Earth's boredom!" As he sorted through his materials, Xiao Li quipped, "You mean, pass on the boredom to the aliens first, and then see how they fight back against us?"

"That's right, aliens will definitely see our deep understanding of boredom and may even want to apply to join our Boredom Party!" Xiao Zhang said with a smile and exaggerated gestures. Everyone bantered happily, and the atmosphere warmed up. Just when I thought everything was going well, the nagging question popped up in my head: "Do we really know anything about boredom?"

"The key to understanding boredom is to make it interesting." I said, trying to pull everyone back into a sense of hierarchy. Xiao Li frowned, as if thinking about my words. "Well, we can either accept boredom, or we can reverse it completely and make boredom great!"

"It sounds like a boring psychological war, and we have to be condescending." Little fingers pointed out the window, as if plotting our starry plans. "If aliens were to sit here and listen to us sing boring songs, they would probably wonder why they wasted so much time on boredom!"

"Maybe they reciprocate with a 'super boring' mentality?" Xiao Li was lost in thought and his thoughts drifted away. I tapped him hard on the shoulder to remind him that this was the brainstorming phase. "We must solve the challenge posed by this mysterious alien! Tonight, do not get lost in the vortex of boredom!"

As we pieced together the elements of a boring party, my mind began to fly. Maybe tomorrow's aliens will bring a whole new set of challenges and even "boring optimism" from the universe. It was at this moment that I felt a strong sense of anticipation that life was about to take on a whole new dimension. Tonight, a journey of boredom and adventure has quietly begun.

"Ok, today's boring rehearsal comes to a climax, everyone clear up your boring mood, we are going to welcome the wonder of the universe!" I clapped my hands, not letting up.

"No problem, I've prepared my latest boring dance routine." Xiao Li was slightly pleased and shook his guitar. "Once the aliens arrive, they will be absolutely excited and will stare at us with eight eyes, trying to understand the boredom of this creature."

"Are you sure they won't just fly away?" Xiao Zhang raised his eyebrows and looked doubtful. "If aliens saw your strange dance moves, they would think life on Earth is a disaster."

'Don't worry! I want to symbolise their gravity!" Xiao Li was menacing. His voice was not loud, but he seemed to be saying something very philosophical. "My boring dance will make them understand that even the most powerful aliens can collapse in the face of boredom on Earth." The office was filled with joy.

"All right, everybody, let's get ready to guide the aliens." I began to direct everyone, everyone in the corner of the office to plan their own boring works, as if a boring feast is about to be staged. Just then, the light outside the window flashed again, and my heart couldn't help but tighten.

"Do you think this alien has any particular way of being bored?" Xiao Zhang's question made me stop what I was doing and turn my head to think. He sat at the table, tapping his fingers to the rhythm of shopping, and seemed lost in the whirl of thought. "Maybe they'll see that there's a fundamental difference between our boredom and the boredom of the universe."

"Yes, the question is how can they understand our boredom?" I raised my hand to interrupt his meditation. "It would be embarrassing if the aliens' philosophy were deeper than ours. We can't let them out of it!"

Xiao Li shouted at me, "Then we can only shock them with the force of boredom!" In the boredom of the earth, the smallest miracle can become the most profound insight." This is like a light cut through my thinking, tomorrow's party will not be easy.

"I have an idea! Xiao Zhang suddenly stood up, as if he had exploded a cannon. "If aliens have a unique way of being boring, then we have to introduce it into our party!" For example, hold an 'alien style meditation' to let them experience the boredom of Earthlings!" His eyes sparkled and he was clearly pleased with his creation.

"Xiao Zhang, are you sure aliens would like to sit here and stare?" I asked with a smile, feeling that the idea was a bit far-fetched. "Maybe they will think we are showing off our individual aesthetics!" Xiao Li added, waving his fingers around the table like he was conducting a boring band. Everyone could not help laughing, as if all this had undoubtedly made boredom the noblest of arts.

"Then we should prepare a boring meditation music in advance, possibly a noise loop for hours, to make sure the aliens can appreciate our fundamental boredom!" I proposed, pretending to be mysterious, imagining the surreal scene of the alien listening to our meditations with a blank look on his face.

"Come on, have you ever thought about what would happen if the aliens heard such boring music that they really wanted to fly away?" Xiao Li joked, his eyes showed a hint of fear. I began to wonder if I should have prepared something more cool for the party, so as not to actually bore the aliens.

"We have to make sure that the boredom is science fiction. It would be bad if aliens went back into space and said our music was making them lose their way home." I put my hands up, like I was having an emergency meeting. Everyone smiled at each other and seemed to be thinking about how to effectively deal with the upcoming challenge.

"Then, let us leap the boundary of boredom together!" Xiao Zhang shouted, his voice full of fighting spirit. "Tomorrow not only let the aliens admire our sense of humor, but also let the boss find some fun, so he will believe that we are serious about our work!" The atmosphere in the office is getting more and more heated, and people are starting to split up and plan their own ideas, but I am once again filled with anticipation for tomorrow's party and a little anxiety.

"Everybody ready?" I asked aloud, trying to stir up enthusiasm in the office. Everyone was burying their heads in their boring ideas, while Xiao Li was in the corner furiously practicing his boring band repertoire. A part of me was worried: Would aliens enjoy this boring concert? I couldn't help but smile as I imagined them raising their cheeks slightly in a confused look.

"Of course I'm ready! I'll show them what boredom is!" Xiao Li said, like a general about to go to war. He strummed his guitar in his hand, as if he could anticipate the aliens' disappointment. "If it's too boring, they'll just fly away and never come back."

"Hey, don't worry too much! We might even make Earth boring and fun for them!" Zhang quipped, "After all, exploring the value of boredom is also a brave adventure!" I can't help but laugh at his absurd logic, and it seems that we are beginning to adapt to this absolutely absurd atmosphere.

"A boring party is more than just 'sitting around in a daze,'" I warned, trying to steer the group's thinking. "We could have a rotation where everyone has a chance to show off their boring ideas, or show off their boring skills, as if it were a boring contest!" Everyone agreed. There was anticipation in their eyes.

"For aliens, engaging in noisy, boring interactions may be more appealing." Xiao Li's eyes lit up, as if he had caught inspiration. "Now that they're there, they can't miss the chance to experience boredom! Otherwise, it will give the aliens the impression that Earth people do not understand boredom!"

As everyone gradually reached a consensus, the atmosphere of the office reached a climax. Everyone began to share their own ideas, boring details are constantly added, it is really people want to show off. At this point, another "boring" question popped into my mind: "What would the alien taste be?" The office on this day is not at all to deal with the agitation of work, but to devote oneself to this wonderful "boring adventure". I hope tomorrow's party gives us a real surprise.

"Everybody! Boredom is above all else!" I hammered the table as if preparing for a military council. "At tomorrow's party, everyone can put their boring style on display to win the hearts of aliens!" The office was awash with approval, and Xiao Li even began to play a low melody on his guitar.

"I think we can make our appearance a little alien, like a mysterious messenger of boredom!" Xiao Zhang raised his chin like a hero saving the universe. The response to his suggestion was so overwhelming that some people started painting alien images on the walls of their offices.

"So, will aliens find our 'boring costume' interesting?" I pretended to be serious, with a kind of intellectual curiosity. Xiao Li laughed so hard that his stomach hurt. "If they're bored, that's all the better! It means our boring style is very popular with aliens!"

"Don't forget, the goal is to make the party fun for both the boss and the aliens." I tap my fingers on the table, trying to bring everyone back to reality. "So, on top of the boring, slightly more visual effects will get their attention."

The theme of the party gradually evolved from "boring" to a surreal fantasy show. It's like we're in some kind of outer space innovation contest. Xiao Li intends to attract the aliens with his original performance of the "boring dance", while Xiao Zhang begins to conceive a costume design for the boring performance.

"Oh my God, we are really going to astonishingly bore the aliens!" I couldn't help but sing a tune, filled with great anticipation for tomorrow's party. It was in this atmosphere of excitement that I realized that perhaps the ordinariness of life is what drives us to create the wonderful. Tomorrow's party will not be any ordinary party, but a new adventure that we will bravely explore.
