A Silent Scream

Hazel responded: "Okay! And then?"

The elderly woman said: "That madman, this isn't the first time I've seen him! He frequents this hospital! I felt like I had seen him before! As if I saw him in some dream or something…"

A shiver ran down Hazel's spine as he realized that the "disorganized" individual had been planning to kill him throughout his coma, studying the movements of the hospital staff to isolate him and finish him off. But the question that puzzled Hazel was why he had not killed him during the entire time he was in a coma…

The elderly woman asked: "What's wrong, my son? Why do you look so lost?"

Hazel replied: "Nothing! Just wondering why that air conditioner is emitting smoke?"

Before the elderly woman could respond, the air conditioner exploded, causing complete devastation! Everyone in the room was thrown to one side as the cabinet and television fell, separating the elderly woman and her family from Hazel, who fortunately fell beside the door. Hazel found himself trapped in front of a horrific scene—a room engulfed in devastating flames. The fire danced in every corner, and the inhabitants screamed as the flames consumed them, mercilessly hunting down the family members and devouring them! The cries of despair and death filled the air, saturated with the scent of burning and blood, while the flames devoured flesh and bone, melting away longing and affection.

Suddenly! One of the family members in that room thrust a small baby toward Hazel! Hazel was on the floor, but as his eyes scanned this terrifying scene, his body froze, refusing to respond to his commands!

His body was paralyzed, his strength gave out, and he could no longer move. He lived this cursed reality as if he had seen it all in a dream! Hazel had never felt such terror in his life! He froze in place while the flames consumed everything and drew closer. He fully understood the meaning of Scath's words about "telepathy," but he quickly recalled what had happened in that cursed dream when he tried to save the baby! His feet were frozen in place, and he didn't know how to act as he struggled with the threads of fear and despair wrapping around him.

Suddenly, he got up from his spot, closed his eyes, and didn't look at the burning families. He slowly backed away toward the door behind him, step by step, until he found himself in the hospital corridor outside the burning room. Firefighters and paramedics soon arrived at the room, but they couldn't do anything! Everyone in the room was already dead! The old woman, her family, and even the baby—everyone had perished! Except for Hazel, who survived physically, but his spirit and conscience had died due to all these horrific events!

Hazel woke up to find himself in another hospital! The previous hospital had suffered a major fire. Once he regained consciousness, thoughts began to swirl around him from all directions, and what he started to think about was the truth about Scath! He realized he was just a manipulator! He even began to doubt the pill that Scath had given him during their first meeting; "Maybe it's some kind of drug! Or perhaps he's in cahoots with that crazy addict from the 'Disorganized' who tried to kill me, to get rid of me or conduct experiments on me!" And thus, Hazel sank into a sea of doubts, concluding that Scath was the manipulator responsible for everything happening to him.

He struggled hard not to give in to sleep because he knew that sleep was the only way for telepathy to occur. So, he decided not to sleep no matter the cost, even if it meant his death. He fought and fought, yet he soon closed his eyes gently and sank into the embrace of the bed. He was unaware that the nurse had injected him with a sedative to help him sleep after the shock of the fire he had experienced, and he was now receiving special care.

He woke up early in the morning, feeling great comfort. He had never managed to sleep like that in his life, nor had he felt such peace and comfort before. Suddenly, the events of the dream came to mind. Wait! It seemed that this time he hadn't dreamed of anything. He felt a wave of joy wash over him when he realized this; this time, there had been no telepathy or anything in his dreams. He thought about the reason, but after deep reflection, he couldn't find any causes or possibilities. His thoughts were interrupted by the nurse bringing breakfast, and she soon spoke: "Ah! You're finally awake, did you get enough rest?"

Hazel replied enthusiastically: "Yes! I've never slept so well in my life!"

The nurse responded: "Good, it seems the sedative really helped you!"

Hazel was shocked and froze in place; he was unaware that they had injected him with this sedative. Then he quickly realized why he hadn't experienced "telepathy" again and why he hadn't dreamed of anything when he slept: simply put, when he slept voluntarily, telepathy occurred, but when he slept due to the drug, telepathy wasn't activated because he hadn't slept willingly. After realizing this, he urgently asked the nurse to give him more of that sedative, but she refused, claiming it would lead to addiction. Then she left the room, leaving Hazel stuck in his thoughts. He eventually decided that he needed to get that sedative at any cost…
