Jenny POV:
As l ended the live video, I felt a mix of emotions: relief, anxiety, and exhaustion. I looked around, noticing everyone's eyes fixed on me. The staff's chatter and clinking dishes filled the air.
"What's wrong?" I asked, feeling a sense of unease.
"Do you really like him?" my dad asked, his voice low and concerned.
I shook my head, trying to brush off the question. "No, Dad..."
I raised an eyebrow. "Why ask, then?"
He shrugged, not wanting to delve deeper. "Never mind, dear. Let's go home now. It's getting late," he said, his voice gentle.
We packed the remaining food and said our goodbyes to the staff. The warm sun beat down on us as we walked to the car. Aunt Cathy, Cindy, Dad, Granny, and I piled in, the scent of saltwater and sunscreen lingering on our skin.
As we drove away, I waved goodbye to Aunt Cathy and Cindy, feeling a sense of relief wash over me. Once we arrived home, I noticed Granny's keen eyes on me.
