Mansion Bound

Ever since I can remember, I've never been allowed out of the house...

Actually, I left that one time with Mr. Felix, and that didn't end well for both of us. We didn't even make it past the gates before being caught. A painful memory; freedom was just within grasp!

"My dear son! Everything you need is right here; you don't have to venture into that dangerous world infested with monsters and demons, okay?" Mother said to me as I was serving punishment with Mr. Felix. We were both kneeling, but Mr. Felix was made to carry a large stone. Poor him, sucks to be an adult.

My parents provide my every need, including things like, a smartphone, books, lots of books, movies, consoles, animes, and many more that a young boy could ask for.

Judging by the movies I watch on TV, I'd probably be considered one of those rich kids.

The house I lived in was massive. I believe it's a mansion located on the Mediterranean island, or something - I don't know the full details - I'm basically an inmate.

It was 5 stories big, and even had multiple underground levels - which I call the "Slaughterhouse."

I live with my parents, alongside some no-names and background characters who basically had no faces, to me at least. But on the bright side, this mansion was fun; there were around 25 rooms, most of which were restricted to me, of course.

There is this huge pool that you would love, but I despise; I always have an uneasy feeling about the pool, like it's waiting to engulf me or something.

And yeah, there's a movie theater that's like a real cinema - not that I've ever been to a real cinema before, but the ones on TV seem to resemble the one in my house, so.

There is a game room, the best part of this mansion and my sanctuary: it holds all the sacred games I'm sure some other kid might be looking for right now!

He-he-heh... Well, said "other kid" probably has freedom... something I dont.

The mansion has a bowling alley and a tennis court, though I'm tweeny and cannot use any of them, but still.

Oh! Let me not forget about the garden; it's basically a private park. There are beautiful designs, arts formed with nature - a real sight for sore eyes. I come there to lament on my over-sheltering, sometimes.

In short, it is like a whole city here.

Everything is so, so, pretty and super fancy. I feel like a king, or prince, or something!

Actually, scratch that... I feel like a slave, a prisoner in my own house. I'm not usually ordered around, or told what to do, but I have no friends and i just stay indoors - I've been that way since I was born. I think my parents plan to keep it up till am all grown and useless; it's really depressing to think about. Humans need interaction, at least, once in a while. I don't even know any of my relatives, just Mother and Father. Well, Mr. Felix and Mr. Nico come around, but they aren't children I can play or discuss with.

My mother told me, one day, that this Mansion was intentionally built for me, even before I was born.

Scary!! Was I that much of an evildoer in my past life? That a prison facility was already in place for my rebirth!

Like I said before, this Mansion was located in the middle of nowhere. We had a very, very, VERY large property, basically the entire island... Okay, maybe just 100 acres, if I'm calculating it right. The security is top knotch: there are security (?) men everywhere at the entrance, mostly at night. And sometimes, to be frank, I even see some real ninjas prostrating to my mother, to receive orders, perhaps. I hope she's not ordering them to do awful things, like assassinate someone. I feel like it's not beyond her.

It would only take someone like Ethan Hunt from "Mission Impossible" to infiltrate this place. And, pleeeeease, let him not be caught. If he is, oh boy! It's straight to the slaughterhouse, I tell you.

***

I was reading a comic book in the living room, before the door opened up and two figures came in.

"Hey Flynn, we've come to visit!"

"Where is Hayase! I want to see my beautiful queen!"

Two familiar faces walked in; one of them was Mr. Nico. He had beautiful blonde hair, and gold-yellow eyes, looked kind of middle-aged but still had this air of elegance and beauty. He was a frequent visitor, always impeccably dressed in luxurious attire and expensive shoes. He comes around every now and then to check up on us.

The second one was Mr. Felix, my partner in crime and brother in suffering. He is really cool and handsome (not middle-aged), with deep-purple eyes, and long, purple hair which he sometimes tied. He always wear dark-themed dresses; a dark, purple coat, on top of dark shirts and pants. He is really funny and playful, but sometimes, too playful. And yes, he's the one that called my mother, Hayase, his queen. He's obsessed with her, and that has brought him a lot of physical pain from both her and my father, not that he ever learns, though.

I don't blame him, however - my mother is a goddess. Not literally, but you get what I mean!

Some servants entered the living room with tea for our visitors. My father and mother also came in after them. My father glared at Mr. Felix. But, as we would have it, my mother smoothly went towards him and punched his guts out. The force of the punch erupted winds in the room.

Poor guy opened his arms for a hug initially, now his face was pale and he held his stomach with a wry smile and sweat.

"Since you will never behave yourself, I'll continue dishing out discipline until you do!" Mother exclaimed and smiled kindly, "Now, have your seat, I'll bring you something to eat... And I'm not taking 'no' for an answer."

"y-yes, my Que- yes, Maam!!"

And just like that, order was restored.

Why did Mother marry my father? Now, we have a couple of dark, controlling sadists, and I'm the one receiving dibs!

After being coerced, er, I mean, kindly asked by my mother, the duo sat down and awaited their meals, as they discussed with my father.

Mr. Felix glanced at me and winked. It would've been cool if he did that without holding his belly.

"Uhm, Flynn! Don't you think it's time to let Lukas out of the house?" Mr. Felix proposed, "He's been cooped up here for 6 years, and he's a smart kid, too!"

Ohhh, my able partner in crime, Felix, I love you! You tell him!

"I don't need your suggestion on how to train my son. Go and get yours and train; I won't give you my opinion, too."

Such a wet blanket, my father.

Taking suggestions can be good, especially the ones that Mr. Felix brings. But oddly enough, they are never approved. I wonder what we are doing wrong.

"C'mon, Flynn. Felix is right. Give the boy some wings. He's not some fragile doll."

Ah! How rare! Mr. Nico was chipping in. Keep at it, Mr. Nico! I'm cheering for you!

My father's green eyes shone a glint of dangerous light as he dropped the tea he was drinking, and gazed at the duo. Mr. Felix flinched visibly.

"Now, you too, Nico" he said, relaxing on the couch like he owned the place...

Actually, he did.

"Lukas is not a High Human, and he doesn't have any talent for it, either."

Don't know what he meant by that, but how dare he call me talentless?! I have many talents, including sleeping in the morning, or conversing, onesidely, with flowers in the garden.

Father continued trash talking me, "He has a weak constitution compared to Monitors, and I don't want him to get entangled in any supernatural ordeal, do you understand?" my father's voice, solely, reverberated throughout the room, and he continued sipping on his tea.

Gizhigon! What a dangerous man I call father! And, uh, High Humans? Monitors? What are those? Hm, I hope my father isnt a cultist or something; how suspicious.

Mr. Nico didn't feel threatened by my father's pressure. Though, Felix had shut up and nervously downed his tea.

"You can't be sure of that." Mr. Nico said, "The ways of the supernatural are mysterious; maybe he would power up when he ventures out."

Supernatural? Hold on! I'm just being released, right? I'm not going to be sacrificed, right?

"Sigh! You speak as if you are guaranteed of his well-being?" My father scoffed at Mr. Nico, raising an eyebrow.

"I am, I am! You know about that school for Supernatural Monitors' kids?" Nico asked my father.

"That slump?"

"It's not a slump! I'm one of its founders, you know." Mr. Nico retorted to my father's apparent sarcasm.

"In this school, I can assure you of Lukas' safety. It's actually threats that we should be worried about in this case; a lot of powerful Monitors teach and work there," Mr. Nico explained.

Nani, it was just a school... I thought I was being sold to a secret society, or something.

My father closed his eyes to digest the information, before saying, "If you'll keep a close eye on him, I will trust you. But... Now you have to convince Hayase."

At the mention of my mother's name, Mr. Felix and even Mr. Nico gulped, then;

"What is it that I need to be convinced about?" My mother, with a katana at her back, walked in with some faceless maids who brought food.

Huh? Was the katana there before? It's spoiling the beauty of her black dress, though.

Mr. Felix saw it and yelped at no one, sitting upright.
