BY EACH OTHERS SIDE

"Oh, speaking of shopping, I told Kendrick about our plan to open a shop together. He suggested that we visit the Grand Plaza and find a suitable place, and he could help arrange it for us."

"Whaaaaat?! Really! You are truly amazing, my dear Amelia! My Baby! Then we should do it tomorrow!" Nerrisa exaggerated.

Amelia giggled, "OK, so let's meet there tomorrow; how about eleven in the morning?"

"Yes! See you babe! Good night!"

Amelia could only shake her head, hearing Nerissa's excitement.

Amelia went to the kitchen, prepared two cups of tea, and proceeded to Kendrick's study. She knocked. After hearing Kendrick say, "Come in," Amelia opened the door.

"Honey, you don't have to knock to come in; you can come in anytime," Kendrick declared as he took Amelia's cups of tea, placed them on his desk, and pulled Amelia to his lap.

"I didn't want to come in if you are busy."

"Remember, you will always be more important to me than anything else. Busy or not, you have the right to disturb me anytime, anywhere."

"OK, have some tea and continue with your work. I also want to check my emails and update some of my design drafts," Amelia said, peeling herself from Kendrick's arms.

It was a little past midnight when Kendrick finished reading and signing all the documents he needed to. He noticed that Amelia was still busy working on her laptop, so he cleared his desk and went over to see what she was working on.

"Honey, you have such an outstanding skill! I think even the director of our design department could not be on par with you." Kendrick was thrilled.

"Really? I'm very grateful to my mentor. She was truly amazing." Amelia replied with fulfillment.

"Honey, I believe transferring the jewelry department to you would be incredibly helpful to the business and, of course, to me. What do you think?" Kendrick proclaimed.

"But I'm just an amateur."

"Amateur or not, it is the skills that matter. And you are my wife."

"Let me think about it, OK? I also promised Nerissa we would work together."

"No rush; you can settle your matter first with Nerissa."

"Yeah, we will be at the Grand Palace tomorrow."

"Wait," Kendrick said as he remembered something, pulled out two cards from his drawer, and went back to Amelia.

"Here, Honey, I prepared these cards for you. This black card is an extension of my card; it is limitless. Just buy everything you want, and this card is an exclusive membership card of the highest tier of all our establishments."

"Kendrick, this is too much. I will take the membership card, but I truly don't need the black card." Amelia resisted.

"Honey, you are my wife; all my money is yours and for you to spend. What else could it be if not for my wife and my future children." Kendrick urged.

"You!"

"Are you done?" Kendrick asked.

"Um,"

"Good, then let's go start making children," Kendrick said as he yanked Amelia up from her chair.

Early the next morning, Kendrick was already dressed when Amelia woke up.

"I told you to wake me up."

Kendrick tenderly said to Amelia, "I know, Honey, but there is no need for you to wake up so early; you can sleep more," as he gently brushed aside a few strands of hair from her angelic face.

"But I want to eat breakfast with you," Amelia said while pulling herself up from the bed and putting on her silk robe.

"As you wish, let's go," Kendrick said as he held Ameli's hand.

"Do you have all you need?" Amelia asked Kendrick, worried he might have left something he needed to bring to work.

Kendrick felt warm having someone show concern for his needs.

"Yes, Hon. You are the first person to care for me after I moved out from my grandparents. Thank you." Kendrick emotionally told Amelia, giving her a tight embrace.

"Don't worry; from now on, I will be by your side and take care of you."

"We will always be by each other's side." Kendrick declared with assurance, giving Amelia a quick kiss.

"Let's have breakfast so you won't be late for work."

"Honey, aren't you going to the Grand Palace today?" Kendrick asked while they were having breakfast.

"Yup, Nerissa and I will meet there at eleven."

"Is she picking you up?"

"No, I'll go on my own."

"Hon, do you drive?" Kendrick inquired.

"Um," Amelia uttered in affirmation as she bit her sandwich.

"That's Good. Then, pick up any car from the garage and drive it today. I'll assign a driver for you by tomorrow," Kendrick said before finishing his coffee.

"But I don't need a driver!" Amelia object.

"Hon, let's talk about this tonight, and make sure you take care of yourself when you go out today, OK? I have to go now and remember to call me if you need anything. I saved my number along with Alu's number on your phone this morning just in case you can't reach me, and also Beryl's number.

Honey, if you ever have an emergency, you can call Beryl. He's my childhood friend, and you can count on him," Kendrick told Amelia, speaking to her as if he were a father addressing a child.

"I get it, thank you. You should go."

Kendrick kissed her before striding out of the house.

While in the car, "Alu, have you arranged the security for the Missus?"

"Yes, Sir. They are already in place and will follow Missus wherever she goes." Alu ensured.

"What about the information I asked you to gather?"

"Sir, all the information I found about the Missus has already been sent to your email. There isn't much to see." Alu couteously replied.

Kendrick could agree to this, knowing Amelia came from an ordinary family.

"Sir, upon investigation, it was revealed that Miss Lin was also at the Le Club that night of Miss Nerissa and Missus's celebration. She was attending her friend's birthday party." Alu reported to Kendrick what he found out.

After coming across this information, Kendrick found himself deep in thought. He couldn't help but wonder whether Clara and Amelia had a prior encounter and what might have caused any potential animosity between them. To add to the puzzle, Clara even made a competing bid against him for the Imperial Necklace. These questions weighed heavily on Kendrick's mind, leaving him deep in contemplation.
