Blood Dungeon (Part 4)

The bubbles that had formed beneath their feet died down almost as quickly as they had appeared.

For a moment, the silence that followed hung heavy in the air, both of them instinctively looking down at the ground as if waiting for something more to emerge.

But nothing happened. The tension lingered for a few seconds longer before both of them let out sighs of relief.

"That was... unexpected," Kai muttered, still watching the surface warily. His heart was still racing, though now there was a bit of confusion mixed with the adrenaline.

He hadn't expected anything quite like that — his mind was still catching up to the surreal nature of what had just happened.

A Dual Dungeon, regenerating monsters, and now this strange jelly-like substance that seemed to have a mind of its own.

"Are you scared, Kai?" Kiara's voice broke through his thoughts, her words almost casual, though he could sense the undertone of curiosity in them.
