Kai, an introverted young man about to start college, has spent the last five years immersed in the light novel Adventurer's Crusade. As he reads the final chapter, nostalgia washes over him, but his excitement quickly turns to despair when the anti-climactic ending shatters his expectations. Frustrated, he declares he could do better than the protagonist, Elijah, only to be confronted by a mysterious voice that challenges his claim.
Moments later, his phone explodes, and Kai's world fades to black. When he awakens, he finds himself reborn as a baby in a vibrant new world, filled with magic and adventure. Realizing he is now Kai Brandon, the son of a legendary dungeon-raider, he grapples with his new identity and the memories of his previous life.
Determined to surpass the hero he once idolized, Kai sets out on a journey of self-discovery. As he grows, he must navigate this fantastical realm and forge alliances with captivating companions.
The story shows promise, but the linearity of the story is confusing. Characters are introduced and then forgotten quickly. The story itself is confusing and bounces around constantly, especially with the time skips and changes development. Like what happened with his sister or Emerald? why did they just stop being mentioned? What about the rest of his family? Who the hell is Xavier, and why did he get a single mention in a chapter and then never get explained? The story has promised, but it seems like it's steam rolling forward with no linear progression or sense.
