Too much!
This is really too much!!
Gangnir! You ignored both of my older sons, but now you've chosen the Supreme Sorcerer of Kamar-Taj?!
In the past, we fought together across the Nine Realms, side by side in battle!
And now that I'm getting old, you're already looking for a new owner?
I...
For a moment, Odin was dumbfounded.
His one eye widened, and he could clearly feel the surge of anger rising inside him, disbelief painted across his face.
Gangnir wasn't just a weapon—it was his comrade, one he had fought alongside for thousands of years!
And now, just like that, it was leaving him?
At that moment, Odin's expression turned dangerously pale.
Sensing his growing rage, Luo Bai knew it wasn't wise to stick around any longer.
Before Odin could fully recover, Luo Bai quickly said, "It seems I can control this spear now. In that case, I'll take it as my reward. Thank you, All-Father."
With those words, Luo Bai opened a portal and vanished, leaving Odin standing alone in the grand temple, completely dumbstruck.
After a few moments, Odin remembered something and, in his frustration, shouted, "Gangnir!"
No response.
He called again, louder this time, "Gangnir!!!"
Still, no response.
Very well. So, Gangnir had truly abandoned him for a younger master!
Odin sat there in silence.
As much as he hated to admit it, he knew the truth: magical weapons choose their wielders.
The more powerful the weapon, the stronger its autonomy.
Gangnir's choosing Luo Bai wasn't about the young sorcerer forcing it away. It was about the spear choosing Luo Bai.
At this realization, Odin was furious but helpless.
Once a magical weapon recognized a new master, there was no calling it back.
Odin slowly walked to his throne, lowering himself onto it. He gazed at the vast and majestic temple, lost in memories of his youth.
Back then, he had wielded Gangnir and ridden his eight-legged steed, Sleipnir. Every kingdom he visited had no choice but to submit.
But now, his bravery and strength had faded with time.
It was said that the Asgardian gods grew more powerful as they aged, but no matter how much strength he had gained, nothing could stop Ragnarok... or his own inevitable death.
If only... if only there were no such thing as Ragnarok!
He wouldn't be in such a weakened state now.
It's all the fault of those "shadowy gods."
But still, Odin could only blame himself for all this.
Gangnir's departure was bound to happen. It had been crafted from the branches of Yggdrasil, the World Tree. The tree itself must have foreseen the fate of Asgard, which was why Gangnir needed a new master.
Odin sighed deeply.
Even though he was deeply saddened, he didn't have time to dwell on it because something was amiss... something was wrong in Asgard!
Loki had escaped!
"All-Father, there's been an incident! The prisoner Loki has escaped!" a guard shouted as he rushed into the temple.
Before Odin could respond, the guard continued, "We were escorting Loki back to the dungeons, but it turns out it was only a duplicate! He's missing now!"
Before the first guard even finished his report, another rushed in, breathless. "All-Father, it's worse. Loki attacked the convoy that was escorting the Tesseract. By the time Thor arrived, Loki had already used it to open a portal and escaped."
Everyone expected Odin to issue orders immediately, but he remained silent, sitting on the throne, muttering to himself, "This isn't right... This shouldn't have happened."
The guards had no idea what he meant, but Odin understood all too well.
With his current abilities, he could easily monitor every corner of Asgard. The moment Loki had escaped, he should've sensed it and stopped him. But because he had been so distracted by Gangnir's departure, Loki had managed to slip through.
Yet, that wasn't what troubled Odin the most.
Odin, having sacrificed an eye to drink from the "Fountain of Wisdom," had gained the ability to foresee the future.
While his foresight wasn't as precise as the visions offered by the Time Stone, he could still sense significant events—Ragnarok was one such event he had foreseen.
But Luo Bai's arrival had not been in his vision, and the Tesseract was supposed to stay in Asgard!
So why had Loki managed to take it?
Odin couldn't understand, but there was no time for more contemplation.
He had to act quickly. Just a moment ago, Luo Bai had left Asgard with Gangnir, and now Loki was using the Tesseract to cause chaos on Earth.
If Luo Bai caught wind of this...
Odin didn't even want to think about what might happen next. Could he still hold on to the treasures in Asgard's vault?
"Send Thor to Earth immediately! He must find Loki before Luo Bai does!" Odin commanded urgently.
Meanwhile, at Kamar-Taj...
Loki and Luo Bai were now standing face to face, wide-eyed and surprised.
After a long pause, Luo Bai broke the silence, greeting Loki casually, "Hi."
Loki roared in frustration, "Why is it you again?!"
Things were not looking good for Loki.
To be honest, Loki wasn't having a great time.
He had been so close—so close to opening a portal with the Tesseract, leading the Chitauri army, and conquering Earth.
But who would have thought the Supreme Sorcerer would intervene, dragging him back to Asgard?
Loki, of course, hadn't given up. He had stolen the Tesseract once more, hoping to continue his plans.
Panicking, while being pursued by Asgard's forces, he used the Tesseract to open a portal... with one goal in mind: Earth.
But never in his wildest dreams did he imagine that when the portal opened, he would find himself face-to-face with Luo Bai once again!
Luo Bai was equally surprised.
He had just returned from Asgard, and now Loki was back... with the Tesseract.
Suddenly, a thought dawned on Luo Bai. "Are you here to give me the Tesseract?"
Loki blinked in confusion, "????"
No!
Look at me! Do I look like I'm giving you the Tesseract?
But before Loki could deny it, Luo Bai spoke again, "You really didn't need to trouble yourself by delivering it in person."
Loki realized something was wrong and tried to use the Tesseract to teleport again.
But Luo Bai was already one step ahead. He opened a portal, sending Loki away, leaving the Tesseract behind.
When Loki came to his senses, he was back in Asgard's temple, facing his furious father.
"Loki!!!!!" Odin bellowed.
Loki: "......"
Me... No, wait...
Did I really just deliver the Tesseract to him?!
