Aren't your uncle a bit young?.

"What? Robert actually did such a despicable thing? What a b*stard!"

After listening to Eliza explanation, her friend Natalie was likewise infuriated and started lambasting Robert.

Natalie paused and asked, "Is there anything else? You look a bit out of it."

"Natalie, Do you any guy named Dexter?" Eliza asked.

"Dexter... there are many guys with that name. By the way, even my uncle is named Dexter" Natalie sighed.

"Really!" Eliza's face slightly turned weird.

"What happened with the Dexter you're referring to?" Natalie's curiosity and confusion piqued as she noticed Eliza's weird expression.

"Nothing" Eliza mumbled. She then stared out the window blankly with a lost look in her eyes.

With a sighed Natalie left without saying another word.

Instead of feeling devastated about her boyfriend's betrayal, Eliza mind kept on drifting to the mysterious man, Dexter, who had saved her.

After sometime, Eliza felt tired and drifted off to sleep, but her rest was fitful.

"Wake up and have something to eat, Eliza"

Natalie pulled the covers over her head, not in the mood to say a single word, much less eat.

She had been slowly losing her mind. As soon as she closed her eyes, all she could see was the scene of Robert's betrayal.

"I don't want to eat…" Eliza mumbled.

Right then, she only wanted to lay in bed and do nothing.

Yanking the covers off her, Natalie glared at her huffily.

"Eliza Tanner, Is it worth abusing yourself for a scumbag? Get dressed and apply some makeup. We'll go shopping today and have some retail therapy. I want you to forget that scumbag, Robert, from today onward!"

Natalie dragged Eliza out of bed, forcing her to get dressed and doll herself up.

Then, they went to a nearby mall and shopped at the women's section.

Knowing that she wanted to help her get over him, Eliza didn't leave despite the aversion within her.

Eliza had heard about the famous lit Restaurant in the City, but she never got the honor to taste the food here as a reservation had to be made one month in advance in order to dine in.

It was all thanks to Natalie that she could have the privilege this time.

As Eliza emerged from the room, her eyes landed on a man with a tall, commanding presence.

That guy? wait... from that accident.

Her thoughts were incoherent, she couldn't come up with any idea as why he was there.

Oblivious to Eliza, those were the exact questions running through Dexter's mind, as he looked down at the familiar petite woman.

"Uncle Dex? What are you doing here?" Natalie greeted Dexter as soon as she saw him.

Eliza was utterly puzzled.

Uncle? Is he a Cooper?

"Am I not allowed to be here?" Dexter swept a glance at Eliza.

"No, no, I thought you were out on a blind date." Natalie chuckled. "Oh, this is my best friend, Eliza Tanner. Eli, this is my Uncle Dexter. "

Dexter! She thought that since the guy name was Natalie's uncle, he would be old, but it was totally different.

Eliza awkwardly pushed a thin smile.

Dexter sensed that the girl was acting uncomfortable, and it piqued his interest.

"I was on a business trip and I bought you a gift."

"Thank you, Uncle Dext."

Dexter left after giving his niece the gift.

Eliza went completely limp as she slumped on the couch. She then asked "Aren't your uncle a bit young?"

Natalie shrugged, "Yeah"

Eliza's mind was racing with questions when Natalie asked, "Hey, why don't you stay with me for a month at my place? My vacation will be over in a month."

Eliza pushed a smile and said, "I love to. But you know I've packed schedule, and I'll be all over the place. But don't worry, I promised I'd hang out with you every day."

Natalie shot Eliza a suspicious glanced, but Eliza quickly alleviated her concerns with a reassuring smile.

------

As Eliza stepped out from Natalie apartment, the rain suddenly poured down. Getting slightly wet she quickly dashed into a nearby small shop. She pulled out her handkerchief and gently rubbed her shoulders dry. As she lifted her hair, her eyes suddenly caught sight of a familiar man approaching, his black umbrella shielding him from the rain.

"Is this yours?" the man asked, stretching out his hand to hold out a sleek black watch. Eliza looked at him blankly for a second before her eyes dropped to the watch.

"Yes" Eliza mumbled, taking the watch from him.

An awkward silence fell between them.

"Are you the one who saved me that night?" Eliza asked curiously, breaking the silence.

Dexter slightly knitted his eyebrows. "You dropped thar watch that night. How's your fever now?"

Oh, he's that guy! Eliza's puzzled expression finally cleared.

"I am good, Thanks to you." Eliza said with a hint of drama, her eyes locked with Dexter's. "I troubled you. Did I...?"

Dexter cut her off , his tone firm. "Nothing happened."

Eliza's expression shifted, a mix of confusion and curiosity. What did he mean by "Nothing happened" . Her eyes searched for answers.

Dexter's face remainded rigid. "I mean, my maid took care of you that night. If you want to thank someone, thank her."

Eliza's expression relaxed, and she nodded, "Oh, I'll sure to express my gratitude if our paths cross."
