[ The Final Escape ]
Jack's body ached, but there was no time to slow down. The tunnels were crumbling, and the Syndicate's forces were closing in. Every step forward was a fight against exhaustion, against pain, against the weight of everything they had endured.
Lena ran ahead, leading the way. She knew these underground paths better than anyone. Behind her, Victor moved like a wrecking ball, using his brute strength to shove obstacles aside. Specter, ever the strategist, constantly checked his wrist computer, making sure they weren't walking into another trap.
And Jack? Jack just focused on moving.
"Almost there!" Lena called over her shoulder. "The exit's just past this corridor!"
A siren blared in the distance. They could hear the Syndicate's operatives moving above ground, sweeping the area in search of them.
Specter cursed under his breath. "They've locked down every major exit. If we don't get out in the next five minutes, we're done."
