The pink apron with Best man Ever written in obnoxiously large letters felt like a chokehold on his dignity. He glared at Ruby and Lena, who were comfortably seated on the couch, watching his every move with amusement.

"You two are really enjoying this, aren't you?" Jack grumbled, tying the apron strings behind his back.

"Oh, definitely," Ruby said, sipping her iced coffee.

Lena smirked. "A man's got to suffer for his crimes, Jack."

Jack exhaled through his nose. It's just a cake. You can do this. You've trained for years. You have endurance, strength, and precision. How hard could it be?
