Chapter 4: The City of Forgotten Souls

As they entered the city, Finn realized just how alien this place was. Creatures of all shapes and sizes moved through the streets—some humanoid, others with scales, wings, or more limbs than seemed natural. Finn couldn't help but stare, feeling like a small fish in an ocean of strange beings.

The city was known as Cerys, a place where people who had also crossed the Veil lived, along with native Elysanans. Many had tried and failed to return to their original worlds, giving up hope and settling here.

"You'll need a place to stay," Kalen said as they approached a large stone building. "I have friends here. They'll help you—for now."

Inside, Finn met a woman named Elira, who was once a sorceress but had given up her powers to avoid being consumed by them. Elira was kind but wary, and she agreed to let Finn stay in her home in exchange for help around the city.

"Trust no one," she warned. "This world is full of those who would use you to further their own ends."
