Teacher Ghost

'It's 8:00 AM, and I still have one hour until class.' Zain stared at himself one more time in the mirror on the wall in his room. Zain then adjusted his collar.

He was already putting on his uniform. With the instruction from the book, he knew his uniform was in one of the stores in his room.

His uniform is a white long sleeved shirt with navy blue trouser, long grey stripes running down the outside of each leg.

A long navy blue duster coat that extended past his knees as well. Lastly, on his feet was the brown leather shoe, polished perfectly.

"All thanks to her yesterday, I now know how I'm supposed to go for class today."

Opening the door of his room, he walked out to see some other students in the corridor already dressed and ready for school.

Double tapping his stat sticker, he then commanded, "Show me my class number."

Zain smiled as he observed the information. He had been practicing how to use it, and he was starting to get the hang of it.

"Here we go!"

Walking into the class was a young, beautiful lady. She was dressed in a long, icelake green loosed trouser and a white top, and then, a long, plain white long overcoat like a Martial artist, only having a single character crested on the back in a strange language which translates to "ghost."

Her brown hair was neatly tied in a bun, making her smooth, beautiful egg-shaped face more vibrant.

Resting on her nose were plain round glasses, giving her face a touch of seriousness.

Walking straight to the whiteboard, she then wrote with her black marker.

"«Mage knowledge»"

Turning to the class, she started, "Before further ado, I'd like to introduce myself to you all."

"Good day, students. My actual name is Mrs. Smith, but call me Ghost. The subject I will be teaching you is 'Mage knowledge'."

"I know you all know what the study of 'Mage knowledge' is, but I'll still go through it briefly."

"Mage knowledge is the study of all the fundamentals every mage must know in order to understand more about what can benefit them in regard to his race. It helps open up some things that are limited to ordinary humans, and one of them is what I will be teaching today."

"Today, I will be starting with the most basic aspect that you all should know - the foundation of magic ranking."

"The ranking was first established 800 years ago during the period when the great ones were still in their prime."

"The ranking of mages differs depending on the school you attend. Although Lowaling academy is the only school in the tier-8 city, you still need to know this because I am sure none of you wants to remain in this lowlife city."

"The ranks of mages in the school, as you all know, range from the lowest, also known as basic mages, to the medium level mages in the intermediate classification, and lastly, the strongest, which is the advance."

"On the other hand, the actual ranks of mages are the basic, which is the weakest, the common, which is the next, and lastly, the strongest you should all know, which is the advance."

"Unlike the school ranking that differs, you all should know that the actual ranking of mage is the same everywhere you go."

"The mages at the basic class of actual ranking are mages who are seen as novices, people who still haven't figured out their magic completely. Just like from the assessment, I am absolutely sure you saw mages from the basic and intermediate level fight."

"You saw the basic mages are so inexperienced and weak, and I can guess most of you here belong to the rank of the weak."

"Moving forward to the common rank, it is the rank of those who are no longer novices. Everyone at the intermediate rank has fully gained their power."

"At the intermediate section of the school is where most of the common-ranked mages normally reside. At the common level, a mage's new aim in regard to their magic is to become skilled and learn to manipulate their magic because they have already reached the level of being able to completely harness their power."

"Mind you, every rank of a mage has ten divisions, with level 1 being the weakest and level 10 being the strongest in the rank. Any strength increase, and a level 10 mage will breakthrough to the rank 1 of the higher rank above them."

"For example, a level 10 basic mage's next power increase will be the level 1 of the common rank."

"The last and final rank is the strongest, which you all should already know by now, and it is also the strongest level anyone has ever achieved in this school and every other school you'll ever see in your lifetime - the advanced rank."

"Those at this stage are those who have already gone past the stage of learning their power. They can already display unimaginable feats, and their focus at this stage is gaining more and more mana because they have already crossed to the top stage of their magical ability."

"They not only get to the highest level, but they also increase in every aspect. For example, an advanced level mage possessing flame magic could possibly possess flame that has enough intense heat emitting from it to melt metals into a liquefied state."

"This marks the end of the theory aspect of today's topic. Now, I'll be going further into the practical aspect. Brace yourselves."

With that said, she did a single clap, letting out a gust of wind alongside a blinding warm light, and with that, the room changed, or more accurately, they were teleported.

"Wait a minute, that was magic!" Zain who instantly realized, exclaimed in an ecstatic manner while he turned his head left and right in awe. The others in the room were impressed, but not as much as Zain, who stood out too well because again, magic is common in the tier-8 city of mages.

Zain's mind raced in excitement as he found himself in a completely unfamiliar place. The sudden teleportation left him fascinated, trying to get his bearings as he looked around at his fellow classmates who were equally bewildered. In the room, Ghost then continued, "I will be showing you the difference between the three ranks of mages."

The room where they stood was like an endless space. Zain didn't need anyone to tell him this time that this was magic, so he paid attention to the lesson.

Looking forward, he finally noticed three people in white robes standing behind Ghost.

"The three people behind me are mages that are basic, common, and advanced, respectively."

"Gasp! Jaws dropped. Did I just hear that correctly - an advance mage?" one of the students from the class spoke out in utter shock.

"How is this possible?"

"The school is giving us the chance to see a mage of the highest rank just for practicals!

"How?"

Multiple comments could be heard until Ghost yelled, "Silence!" The entire room went dead silent before she continued.

"Basic mage, please step forward," Ghost spoke with a smile towards one of them.

Stepping forward, the basic mage then waited for the next order.

"This is a basic tier mage, level 5, possessing flame magic just like the other two," Ghost did the necessary introduction before ordering.

"Show them a display of your magic!"

With that said...
