Selene’s POV
Lucian's grip on my waist loosened slightly, but the tension between us remained thick. His sharp, dark eyes locked onto mine with an intensity I couldn't escape. The room felt smaller, the air charged with unspoken words.
"Now," Lucian's voice was low but commanding as he removed his shirt. "Practice on me. Let’s see how well you’ve mastered your Healer powers."
The statement threw me off. My heart was still racing, my body buzzing from his touch, and it felt like he was testing me. I opened my mouth to protest, but the challenge in his eyes silenced me. His smirk told me he was daring me to go through with it.
I had no choice. This was my chance to prove myself.
"Alright," I said, my voice steadier than I felt. Lucian stepped closer, closing the distance between us. His hand cupped my face, the gentleness nearly undoing me. I bit my lip, forcing myself to focus on the task.
"You can do this," he whispered, his eyes briefly softening.
