Chapter 47: The Awakening

Selene’s POV

My classmates’ initial amusement quickly turned to horror as the creature’s flailing became more frantic. I felt a cold sweat form on my brow as I realized the severity of the situation. Deep down, the turmoil rekindled a familiar sensation within me—a strange, empowering pull that seemed to awaken with each pulse of my heart.

Amid the screams and scrambling students, the werewolf’s large body suddenly stumbled and fell with a thud that vibrated through the cold floor tiles. It was a heartbreaking sight—Darius whimpering in confusion and distress, his eyes darting wildly. As the panic around me escalated, I felt strangely compelled toward the werewolf as if drawn by an invisible force.

Ignoring shouts to stay back, I moved toward him, my mind oddly clear. “Selene, what are you doing? Get back!” I heard someone shout, but the voice sounded distant, muffled by the rush of blood in my ears.
