Nadia's POV
I pushed the green vegetable around my plate once again. All these decadent restaurants had so much food that I didn't even know the names of, which blew my mind.
"Nadia, please quit playing with your food and eat," my mother whispered sternly to me. "You aren't a child."
Says the one stuck on water because she can't control her alcohol…
"Sorry, I'm just not that hungry," I told her, which was the truth.
"Still, you don't need to play with it!"
She had a point there. I gave her a curt nod and laid my fork down before clasping my hands together in my lap. My fingers itched to be doing something, but I ignored them.
"Do you not like edamame?" Aiden asked me. "I can order you something else."
"No, I'm sorry. I just don't have much of an appetite tonight," I said, feeling slightly guilty.
Aiden nodded as if in understanding and went back to conversing with my mom.
