Chapter 27: The Arrival of the Yunxiao Dynasty

"No wonder the master is so strong already even at the Soul formation realm. I'm sure he must have some special body!"

Bai Lie nodded in agreement.

His bloodline has a little bit of the power of the White Tiger. As such, he is incredibly strong compared to other monsters with the same level.

However, he was defeated so effortlessly by his master.

That says a lot about his master's exceptionally strong body.

Bai Lie felt comforted by this; it seemed that following a genius would bring him honor.

The Feihua Mountains towered majestically, with towering peaks stretching endlessly like colossal serpents encircling Feihua City at the centre.

Xian Zhan did not go home. While cultivating in his martial arts, he sought the lost swordsmanship legacy.

With time, he felt that there was some pattern-there was a melodious sound in his ears whenever he used the Eternal Sword!

This strengthened his belief that there must be some form of inheritance or spiritual weapons linked to swordsmanship within the Feihua Mountains; otherwise, it won't resonate with him!

While Xian Zhan looked about for this inheritance, a massive figure sliced through the sky, with enormous wings cut toward Feihua City like an arrow shot from a bow.

It was a golden griffon whose entire form was covered in strong and impressive golden hue.

On its back stood two figures tall and proud. One was in a red python robe; the other wore a green official uniform.

"I never thought that a small matter would catch your Lordship's attention, Ninth Highness," he said with polite humility.

"It is nothing much. I have just not seen anything of this nature for quite some time, and I am interested in what this family, which degrades my Yunxiao Dynasty, can do," the man in the red robe answered, a curious light in his eyes. There were many families and sects under the rule of the dynasty, but such impertinence was quite uncommon!

"What the Ninth Prince may not know is that this family is exceedingly arrogant. They not only disregarded the city lord's authority, who accepted the dynasty's mandate, but they also killed two disciples of the Scarlet Moon Sect, one of whom was a direct disciple of an elder!" Tang Guan said darkly.

He was the examiner of the Yunxiao Dynasty to monitor possible threats in any location, be it in Feihua City, of course-to those forces quietly gathering strength to rebel.

"What? They killed a Scarlet Moon Sect disciple? And it is a direct disciple? You are sure?" Ninth Prince Xia Li widened his shocked eyes.

He was a member of the Scarlet Moon Sect, not an outstanding one perhaps, but he knew that a personal disciple to an elder was much too valuable.

"It is surely so. That boy Yan Tianshan was a member of the Scarlet Moon Sect, and he was murdered by them. There is no doubt whatever," Inspector Tang Guan declared seriously, his face grim.

Xia Li's face darkened slightly as he spoke, "This is serious. I never imagined that this great event would take place at a time when it fell under our dynasty's domain. If we don't resolve this soon and suitably, the Scarlet Moon Sect is sure to call our dynasty out.

The Scarlet Moon Sect was one of the twelve overlords of the Southern Domain and one of the most powerful forces on its side. Yunxiao Dynasty was nothing but one of the minor factions under their control.

If the sect discovered that a direct disciple was murdered in such a small place, then how could they not explode with anger?

Being a disciple himself, Xia Li knew that if the sect member died in the process of war between large forces, the Scarlet Moon Sect would just ignore it. But if the disciple died in the territory of a small force with no explanation for his murder, the sect would unleash its wrath upon that small force!

Then there will be the consequences that may lead to the shift in power balance.

"Third Brother, how are we to do this? Shall we kill them all?"

Tang Guan asked.

"No one would assume the guilt for the Scarlet Moon Sect's wrath if we were to kill them."

"No, then what do you have in mind, Third Brother?"

"Capture them alive and take them before the Scarlet Moon Sect. What they choose to do with them is up to them. This way, even though they are angry, they will direct their anger toward that family and not toward us!

"This is indeed brilliant, Ninth Prince!"

Soon, the enormous golden griffon stood towering above Feihua City, long shadows cast by its wide wings. The powerful winds it created while flying blew away some tiles from the roofs and also made passersby stumble here and there.

"What is that? A beast? Is a monster wave about to come? Someone screamed terrified.

"Quick head toward the Xian family. They are the strongest and safest place in Feihua City!"

Panic was spreading, and two officials with stern faces got off the griffon and touched down at the city.

Is there someone there? Is it not a monster wave?

And they are wearing official uniforms of the Great Xia Dynasty? Have the Great Xia finally sent someone? It must be due to the Xian family's issues being exposed!

In the midst of all speculation, Tang Guan's voice cut through: Where is City Lord Yan Tianshan?

His words were not loud, yet they echoed all over Feihua City.

"Reporting, my lord, the city lord is dead!" Lu Renjia stuttered on his knees by the roadside.

"Dead? Who did it?"

"It was the Xian family!"

"The Xian family?"

Tang Guan's eyes became ruthless: "So it's the Xian family again? After slaying two disciples of the Scarlet Moon Sect, they also killed Yan Tianshan? They really dare, showing no respect at all!"

Beheading disciples of the Scarlet Moon Sect might have been incompetence, but Yan Tianshan was acknowledged as city lord by the Yunxiao Dynasty, and he stood as the official. Is this the way one kills him?

"'The Xian family, a daring and rash family in such a distant region! Do they seriously want to defy my dynasty?'"

The former handsome Ninth Prince Xia Li wore his face with angry looks.

And not only did they demand rebellion, but threaten to drag the Yunxiao Dynasty into utter ruin!

"Take me to the Xian family!" Tang Guan ordered Lu Renjia.

"Yes!"

In the twinkling of an eye, they reached the Xian family residence.

Tang Guan planned to demand that the Xian family come out and confess; just as he was about to speak, Xia Li broke in on him, "What can such a despicable family say? Just overpower them and hand them over to the Scarlet Moon Sect!"

"Agreed," responded Tang Guan as he produced a small weapon that resembled a fish basket and could store innumerable objects as it had spatial properties.

He threw the spiritual weapon into the air over the Xian family. A faint light flickered to life, followed by an intense force that engulfed everything at the Xian family estate into the basket.
