Chapter 53: Looking for a 50-50 split? What do you think?

The declaration of Xian Feng shocked the representatives of the three other factions, especially when he talked of an offer that the two sects would give them control of all their resources.

"Surely, you jest!" thought Han Zhen as his guts churned at the utterance of such fantasy nonsense before the members of the Soul formation realm when they possessed a superior number of Nascent Soul realm cultivators?

"Great Elder, surely he cannot be serious, right?" Xian Ran exclaimed, highly bewildered. The audacity of his words was becoming more and more unbelievable. Something like this, Xian Feng thought, was not the kind of thing the Great Elder would have suggested in the past.

"Hahaha! How brazen! You think our two clans will give over our wealth and power!?" The Blood Knife Ancestor exclaimed, incredulity stretching his face. "I have never met someone so arrogant in Feihua Mountains.".

Pengfei looked at the Xian family with an eye of analysis. Something was mysterious about this little family; they wouldn't risk awakening two sects without some kind of assurance. He thought for a moment before responding, "If all the friends from the Xian family are willing to make a move, then the Lingyun Sect will give our full support. Shall we do a 50-50 split of the resources?"

"What? Still willing to split the spoils 50-50? Ah! How about you try it yourself? "Xian Feng laughed cruelly at Pengfei. "We are not here to save you; we have merely given you a chance to live. To then propose a 50-50 split is really quite ungrateful!

His sharp words deepened the pallor on the faces of the Lingyun Sect's leaders, who were already badly stretched by the tense situation.

"Friends from the Xian family, you must understand – Ni Fengtian and the Blood Knife Ancestor are both Soul formation monks. Despite the number of Nascent Souls cultivators you possess, you might not stand a chance against them!" Pengfei managed to suppress his frustration and continued.

"Then, will you fight? If you don't, then we'll take the initiative. We will take all their resources from both sects!" Xian Feng urged, urgency edging his voice.

"Well, if it's going to come to that, we will do as you say. The Lingyun Sect has obviously lost its capacity for battle!" Pengfei acquiesced, his demeanor heavy with resignation.

"Is the verdict done? Even if you all of the Nascent Soul banded together, I wouldn't give you the time of day!" sneered the Blood Knife Ancestor, his voice dripping with malice. He gleamed lazily at a glint of superiority by idly stroking his bald shine head. Meanwhile, Ni Fengtian had made a full recovery from the wounds inflicted on him, with a healing pill, and he was now on top of his game.

"We've made our choice, and now it's time for you to go!" Xian Feng declared, conjuring two golden energy orbs in his hands—defensive tools gifted to him by Xian Yue. He struck the energy orbs with a flick of his finger and launched them at their opponents.

Your flashy tricks won't impress me in the face of absolute strength!" the Blood Knife Ancestor roared, disappearing like a phantom. Although unsure what those golden balls were, he felt he could dodge them if he didn't face them directly.

As his figure left a blurred afterimage on the ground, he charged toward Xian Feng and his friends eager to teach them a lesson in humility.

Meanwhile, Ni Fengtian breathed in a breath of deep air, his brow flashing with energy as a long, heavy sword took shape within his hand. It was a Fourth Grade spiritual weapon he had yet to wield up until now—the time had come.

Flying geese cruising across space, they attacked the Xian family with death in their hearts.

"Hmph! Let's see them fight until they're both battered and bruised!" Han Zhen thought with glee, basking in the haughtiness of the Xian family. If both sects were to exhaust themselves, not only would they lose their resources, but everything the Xian family possessed would all go to the Lingyun Sect. This battle would finally rectify their losses!

"Prepare to die!" the Blood Knife Ancestor shouted, bloodlust blazing in his eyes.

But just as they had thought that this was going to be an easy battle, the two energy orbs caught them from the side.

Boom! Boom!

Air went up in howling fits of scorched eruptions, bright gold pouring forth like golden rain, shaking the very air about them. As the dazzling luminosity began to fade, the Blood Knife Ancestor and Ni Fengtian were gone, their existence not even a hint of memory.

"Where? Where have the two sect chiefs gone?" dazed disciples of Cangwu Sect and Blood Knife Sect asked, bewildered by the disappearance of their leaders.

Pengfei's eyes were watching the scene - his heart sank. His eyeballs stretched wide: the two gold balls had murdered Ni Fengtian and the Blood Knife Ancestor both of their bodies but their souls!

"I just cannot believe they could have had such a technique.", he thought, stricken by the horrific revelation. Such capability was so powerful that the world of the Soul formation itself seemed insignificant, almost helpless.

"Master, what's going on just now?" Han Zhen questioned, concern evident in his voice.

"They're dead. without a trace," Pengfei managed to answer.

The disciples of Lingyun Sect all gasped together, shocked at the raw power of the golden orbs. What treasure could have such extreme power?

"It's as if the Xian Family had every chance to come out to this point," Pengfei said, with a glint of opportunism flashing in his eyes. Capabilities at such a scale were almost hard for a family of theirs to fathom. If such an opportunity ever came before him, then possibly one day, Lingyun Sect could match the Yunxiao Dynasty.

Xian Ran was incredulous, and less than candidly he thought to himself, "I guess while I was away, the family had really spectacular opportunities, such as the celestial pool and this gold energy ball. No wonder those elders and more were so brazen to challenge the Soul formation Realm!"

"My methods may be lavish, but they are enough to kill you!" Xian Feng said coldly. If he had retreated earlier, they would have avoided all this mess. But the two sect heads had boasted so much about their Soul formation cultivation that this was the situation.

"I must admit, friends from the Xian family, I was wrong about your skills. Do you have more of those powerful attacks? The Lingyun Sect would exchange tens of thousands of spiritual stones or other techniques for such information! " Pengfei looked at them gravely, obviously thrilled by the prospect. He would be able to protect himself much better with such unique techniques available.

"Ten thousand spiritual stones?" Xian Feng's interest was caught, only to be dismissed with a shake of his head in disappointment. "The offer is tempting, especially since our Xian family is indeed in need of resources, but I'm afraid we simply don't have any more of those techniques!"

It is rare to obtain such a treasure, so he thought with a sneer in his heart that having too much expectation will not be realistic. Not terribly powerful, he had good instincts; he realized the leadership of the Lingyun Sect was not worth much. Glancing at the spiritual weapons wielded by the Xian members, he could see that greed is palpably glistening in Pengfei's eyes.
