Chapter 83: Etian Poison Body

Mei Linglong was deeply puzzled. Why did her father refer to this man as "senior" when the man appeared to be quite young? The question lingered in her mind as she curiously observed the interaction.

Xian Yue, noticing Mei Linglong's attention, continued eating and casually remarked, "Is this the sickly daughter you mentioned?"

Mei Linglong, with her twin ponytails and pink dress, stood out, though her lips, nails, and the lining of her eyes were all an unsettling shade of dark purple. Despite her unusual appearance, there was something unique about her presence.

"Yes, Senior," Mei Kai responded respectfully, his voice carrying deep concern. "My daughter's condition has worsened over time. Now, when she falls ill, she slips into a coma. I beg you, please offer us guidance on how to save her!"

There was a palpable urgency in Mei Kai's tone, as if he had run out of options and placed his last hope in Xian Yue.

"Sickness? Hahaha!" Xian Yue suddenly burst out laughing, shaking his head in amusement.

Confused by Xian Yue's reaction, Mei Kai asked, "Why are you laughing, Senior?"

"Who told you your daughter's condition is the result of an illness?" Xian Yue asked, his voice tinged with a hint of mischief.

Mei Kai was bewildered by the question. If it wasn't a sickness, then what could it possibly be? The symptoms had all pointed to some grave disease.

"Then, what do you advise, Senior?" Mei Rong, Mei Linglong's elder sister, inquired.

Xian Yue, still smiling, leaned back and said, "Actually, you should be celebrating."

"Celebrating?" Mei Kai repeated, perplexed. "Why would you say that? What could there possibly be to celebrate?"

Xian Yue chuckled softly. "Both your daughters possess rare and powerful physiques. Isn't that worth congratulating?"

Mei Kai hesitated for a moment before replying, "To be honest, Senior, we are aware that Rong has a special physique. Although we don't know the exact type, we've always suspected it to be something extraordinary, perhaps stronger than even a king-level physique."

Indeed, Mei Rong was no ordinary cultivator. Her immense talent and quick comprehension of techniques had allowed her to reach the Law Manifestation Realm in her twenties, a feat unheard of for most.

However, if Mei Linglong also had a special physique, Mei Kai was at a loss for how to comprehend it. His younger daughter had only ever exhibited signs of weakness and sickness.

"There are certain rare physiques in this world that require special conditions for awakening. Without the proper method, they may never be activated," Xian Yue explained. "In your daughter's case, her symptoms are due to her body's struggle to awaken its latent powers."

The scenario Xian Yue described reminded him of other cultivators with unique constitutions, including Xian Ran. However, while some special physiques posed no harm if left dormant, Mei Linglong's was different. If her abilities weren't awakened, they could eventually harm her.

Realizing the gravity of the situation, Mei Kai immediately stood up and bowed deeply. "Senior, I humbly request your guidance on how to help my daughter awaken her powers."

Both Mei Rong and Mei Linglong followed suit, bowing respectfully. Mei Linglong, in particular, couldn't suppress her excitement. Although she wasn't certain if Xian Yue was telling the truth, his explanation differed vastly from anything the alchemists and healers had offered in the past.

Those healers had always insisted her condition was a result of some incurable disease, Yet here was Xian Yue suggesting otherwise.

Xian Yue nodded, saying, "It's not complicated. You need to give her poison."

"Poison?" Mei Kai and the others stared at Xian Yue in disbelief, wondering if they had misheard him. Was this truly the solution?

"Yes," Xian Yue said with a calm expression. "Your daughter possesses what is known as the Etian Poison Body. As the name implies, it's a physique that thrives on poison. The more toxins she consumes, the closer she will come to fully awakening her powers. Do you understand?"

The three were stunned. Though the Mei family had many ancient texts, they had never encountered any mention of such a physique.

"Senior, should we take any precautions during this process? She is still a mortal after all. And how many types of poison would she need to consume for her physique to awaken?" Mei Rong asked cautiously.

Xian Yue shook his head. "No special precautions are necessary. With each poison she takes, her physique will respond by absorbing the toxins, and her body will naturally grow stronger. As for how much poison... considering her current state, she'll likely need hundreds of different kinds to fully awaken her powers."

Mei Rong spoke up, "I carry several potent poisons with me—ones strong enough to kill someone at the Law Manifestation Realm. Should we try using one of these?"

"Yes," Xian Yue replied without hesitation. "The stronger the poison, the better. In fact, the more toxic it is, the faster her awakening will progress."

In an ideal situation, Xian Yue thought, a rare treasure like a Poison Bead would be the perfect solution. Poison Beads, cultivated in lands brimming with deadly toxins, could condense vast amounts of poison into a single, concentrated form. One of those would certainly awaken Mei Linglong's powers in an instant. Unfortunately, such treasures were exceedingly difficult to find.

Without one, they would have to rely on feeding her poison gradually.

Mei Kai turned to his younger daughter. "Linglong, what do you think?"

Mei Linglong nodded resolutely. She had been living with her condition for so long that the idea of risking death by poison didn't frighten her anymore. If this method could cure her, she was willing to try. And if not, well, she would rather die than continue suffering as she had been.

With firm resolve, Mei Linglong accepted the poison that Mei Rong handed her. Without a moment's hesitation, she swallowed it.

Watching this unfold, both Mei Kai and Mei Rong were tense, their palms sweating in anticipation. Moments later, Mei Linglong's body began to tremble violently, sweat pouring down her forehead as her skin paled.

"Don't worry," Xian Yue said calmly. "This is just the poison taking effect."

His casual tone left Mei Kai and Mei Rong speechless. How could anyone be so indifferent when dealing with poison?

But then, something unexpected happened. The tremors stopped, and Mei Linglong's body relaxed. Her complexion began to improve, her skin regaining a healthy, rosy hue.

"Linglong, how do you feel?" Mei Kai asked anxiously.

"I feel... great! Better than I ever have before!" Mei Linglong replied, her eyes wide with astonishment.

The cold sweat on her forehead had vanished, and in its place was a radiant glow. The transformation was undeniable.

Mei Kai, overjoyed, turned to Xian Yue. "Thank you, Senior! Thank you so much for your guidance!"

Mei Linglong and Mei Rong both bowed deeply to Xian Yue in gratitude.

Xian Yue waved his hand dismissively. "It was a small matter. But don't forget the promise you made to me."

"Of course, Senior," Mei Kai said earnestly. "However, before fulfilling my end of the bargain, I must first pay a visit to the Taicang Sect."

Xian Yue raised an eyebrow. "The Taicang Sect? Why?"

"To be frank, Senior, our family was wronged by them. They looted many of our belongings, including rare spiritual plants. I must retrieve what was stolen."

"I see," Xian Yue mused. "Well, go ahead and take care of your business. I'll wait here. By the way, I had a little run-in with some disciples from the Taicang Sect recently. They tried to rob me."

Mei Kai's expression darkened. "I understand what must be done. Rong, make sure to take good care of Senior."

With that, Mei Kai left Mingyue Restaurant, determination burning in his eyes.

Meanwhile, back at the Taicang Sect, things were not going well.

Yan Hui, a prominent elder of the sect, frowned as he listened to the report from another disciple. "Are you telling me that our disciples in the Mei family's territory have been killed?"

"Yes, Elder," the disciple confirmed. "And it's worse than that. The second elder's soul lamp has also gone out."

Yan Hui's eyes widened in shock. "The second elder is dead? How is that possible? He was at the peak of the Law Manifestation Realm. No one on this planet should have been able to kill him, save for a saint-level cultivator."

Yan Hui couldn't help but furrow his brow. The second elder was not only incredibly powerful but also well-versed in life-saving techniques. It was almost inconceivable that someone of his caliber could be killed so easily.

"Wait," Yan Hui muttered to himself. "Could it be that he provoked someone from the Ziwei Holy Land?"

The mere thought sent a shiver down his spine. The Ziwei Holy Land was a force they absolutely could not afford to offend. If the second elder had antagonized them, then the consequences would be dire.
