Chapter 87: I Need Your Guidance In Doing Things?

"How could I possibly be discovered? It's quite safe to hide myself here," Xian Yue thought, his mind at ease.

Under Xian Tian's guidance, the group soon found several other Yin spirits. These spirits weren't particularly powerful; they were all at the Qi Gathering level, meaning they posed no serious threat. Many residents of Feihua City witnessed the strange, ghostly figures held by members of the Xian family, and they couldn't help but be curious. The eerie mist emanating from these spirits caught the attention of passersby, prompting hushed whispers as they speculated about the odd scene.

A short time later, Xian Yin and the rest returned to the divine city, bringing the Yin spirits with them. Meanwhile, Xian Yue had completed his work in the orchard. After plucking a ripe peach and stowing it in a green gourd for winemaking, he leisurely returned to his courtyard.

As the clan leader, Xian Yue's residence was naturally the grandest in the family, an opulent courtyard befitting his status.

"Clan leader, these things are bizarre! If it weren't for Xian Tian, we might not have even detected where they were hiding!" Xian Yin exclaimed as he and the others released the Yin spirits.

Some of the ghosts appeared in human form, while others took on more grotesque shapes—some resembling spiders, others like cows or horses. They all exuded a faint mist, a ghostly aura that clung to their forms like a shroud.

"They operate under the laws of the underworld," Xian Yue explained. "These laws are completely different from the laws of the living world, which is why you couldn't detect them."

The underworld and the Yang world (the world of the living) were like two sides of a mirror—connected, yet entirely separate. Their realms intertwined, but they didn't overlap in ways that would make sense to mortal beings.

"I'll craft a new pupil technique for you all when I have time. I'll also develop a secret consciousness technique. Once you've mastered them, you'll be able to easily perceive these underworld creatures," Xian Yue assured his subordinates.

Although he had the ability to sever the connection between the underworld and the Yang world, restoring balance and order, Xian Yue was reluctant to do so. In his eyes, the invasion of the Yin spirits wasn't just a calamity—it was a form of trial for the living world, particularly for his family.

"With the resources and training available to our clan, it would be a waste not to sharpen their skills against these challenges," he thought.

Just as he was mulling this over, a mocking voice interrupted his thoughts.

"Create techniques to see us? Ha! You really think you can do that?" sneered one of the Yin spirits, a spider-shaped creature. "If someone could truly invent such techniques, your world wouldn't have lost so disastrously in ancient times."

Though the spider ghost's cultivation was low, it seemed to know a great deal about the underworld and its history with the living world.

A war had broken out between the two realms long ago, and the Yang world had lost. To this day, spirits from the underworld continued to invade, slowly converting sections of the living world into an extension of their own dark domain. While they could invade the living world, mortals had no power to strike back into the underworld.

"I don't need your advice on how to handle things," Xian Yue retorted with a cold smile. "Tell me, through which passage did you enter the Yang world? Why did you appear in the city below?"

"Hmph! Kill me if you want," the spider spirit spat, "but spare me your pointless questions!"

As soon as the spirit finished speaking, Xian Yue obliterated several of the Yin spirits in an instant.

"The only reason I bothered capturing you was to examine what you were," Xian Yue said, shaking his head. "Don't flatter yourself into thinking you're important."

"Clan leader, what exactly are these Yin spirits? And what kind of place is the underworld?" Xian Yin asked curiously, his eyes still fixed on the strange, dissolving creatures.

"You don't need to know too much," Xian Yue replied. "Just remember—if you encounter any being from the underworld, kill it immediately."

The balance between Yin and Yang had been disturbed, and the underworld's invasion into the living world was a sign of that imbalance. If this situation continued to develop, it wouldn't be long before it posed a danger to the entire universe. Xian Yue might not have cared much for the world's fate, but he didn't want to see the living world transformed into a barren ghostland. This was as good a time as any to train his clan.

After Xian Yin and the others left, Xian Yin stayed behind, his expression thoughtful.

"Clan leader, why didn't the proprietress of Blossom Beast Hall come back with you?" Xian Yin asked, his voice betraying a hint of nervousness.

"She has her own matters to attend to, but she'll return," Xian Yue said with a smile. "She still has a promise to fulfill to me."

Xian Yue said with a smile. "Are you interested in her? You have great taste, I must say."

Mei Rong was indeed a remarkable woman—stunningly beautiful and possessing extraordinary talent. Her strength ranked among the highest in the universe.

"I like her, yes, but that doesn't mean she likes me back!" Xian Yin admitted. "Clan leader, can't you help me out? Maybe if you spoke to her on my behalf…"

Xian Yue chuckled. "If I spoke up, she might agree. But if she did, it would be out of respect for me, not out of genuine feelings for you. Even if you were to share a bed, your hearts would remain apart. Do you still want my help?"

Xian Yin hesitated, then sighed. "No, of course not. But with my qualifications and cultivation, it's going to be tough to win her over."

"Work hard. Show her that you're worth it. Nothing is impossible. I want her to marry into the Xian family as well, but this is something you have to earn. When the time is right, I'll step in. I'll help you then, but only when I know the feelings are mutual."

Xian Yin nodded, determination lighting up his eyes. "I'll do my best!"

Xian Yue watched him go, feeling a pang of envy. Despite all his power and influence, Xian Yue had yet to meet a woman who truly stirred his heart. If he had, he wouldn't be standing here alone.

After everyone had left, Xian Yue spread his spiritual sense across the Feihua Mountains, scanning the area. A small cave caught his attention—a thin ghost mist was leaking from it, gradually expanding to cover a radius of over ten meters. From time to time, weak Yin spirits emerged from within the mist.

"The passage is still weak," Xian Yue mused. "It can only accommodate low-level Yin spirits for now. But as more spirits pass through, the passage will grow stronger. Soon, higher-level Yin spirits will be able to invade."

With this in mind, Xian Yue sat cross-legged in his pavilion and began devising the techniques he had promised—an eye technique and a spiritual consciousness technique that would allow his clan to detect Yin spirits easily. With these tools, his clan members wouldn't be caught off guard in future encounters.

A few days later, Xian Wu returned, bearing the accumulated treasures of the Yunxiao Dynasty's treasury. More importantly, he also brought back the first part of the "Heavenly Emperor Holy Dragon Art."

"You actually found the second part of the Heavenly Emperor Holy Dragon Art?" Xian Wu asked, astonished.

"Yes," Xian Yue confirmed, "I found it carved into a golden stone tablet."

"We now have the first and middle parts," Xian Lingtian said thoughtfully. "Only one more chapter, and we'll have the complete technique. Why don't you deduce the location of the final chapter so we can retrieve it?"

Even the first part of the technique was enough to elevate a cultivator to the Great Emperor Realm. If they could acquire the entire technique, it might very well be a legendary Immortal Dao scripture.

"Very well, I'll take a look," Xian Yue agreed.

As the Eternal God Emperor, deducing the location of the final chapter was a simple matter for Xian Yue. In just a moment, he had the answer—it was on a distant planet in the Star Domain.Top of Form
