"Could it really be Mo Tianxing, the Sect Leader of the Black Emperor Sect?"

"I heard he reached the Dou Zong realm over a decade ago and has been in seclusion since. Who would've thought he'd make an appearance today?"

The golden-robed elder, adorned with a giant python motif, drew murmurs of astonishment from the crowd in the grand hall.

Mo Tianxing's gaze swept across Bai Han and the Fire Yao Puppet, his expression turning grave.

Both exuded the aura of Dou Zong powerhouses, whether it was the domineering Bai Han or the terrifyingly powerful Fire Yao Puppet. Even Mo Tianxing had to approach cautiously.

When his gaze fell on Mo Yu and Qing Lin, a flicker of surprise crossed his eyes. Their youth clearly astonished him.

"Father, Sect Leader!"

Qi Shan and Mo Ya quickly moved to stand behind Mo Tianxing. With an embarrassed smile, Qi Shan said, "Apologies, Sect Leader. It's my negligence that led to this situation."

Mo Tianxing shook his head with a light laugh. "Elder Qi, you're being too harsh on yourself. These two represent the Heavenly Serpent Mansion and Yuan Manor, both forces on par with our Black Emperor Sect. Such matters warrant my personal attention."

Qi Shan and Mo Ya respectfully nodded. After all, both Bai Han and Mo Yu's Fire Yao Puppet possessed the combat strength of Dou Zong powerhouses.

Only another Dou Zong could mediate the situation, and in the Black Emperor Sect, Mo Tianxing, a Four-Star Dou Zong and the sect leader, was the sole candidate.

With a hearty laugh, Mo Tianxing addressed the hall, "I am Mo Tianxing. On behalf of the Black Emperor Sect, I thank everyone for attending Elder Qi's gathering today."

His gaze swept through the crowd, pausing briefly on certain individuals before continuing. His voice resonated clearly throughout the hall, drawing a chorus of laughter from many of the strong individuals present.

The Black Emperor Sect was an established power in the Black-Corner Region, its connections extensive. Many attendees shared varying degrees of acquaintance with Mo Tianxing.

When his gaze finally rested on Mo Yu and Bai Han, Mo Tianxing's smile remained polite but firm.

"Master Mo Yu of Yuan Manor, I presume? This is our first meeting, though the circumstances are rather unexpected. Your Dou Zong puppet is as formidable as rumored. However, within the Black Emperor Sect, the safety of our guests is guaranteed. I ask that you retract your puppet."

Mo Tianxing then turned to Bai Han with a faint smile. "Elder Bai, we are old acquaintances. The Black Emperor Sect and your mansion have long-standing economic ties. You know our rule—no fighting within these walls. I hope you'll respect that."

Bai Han's brow furrowed slightly. Mo Tianxing, as a Four-Star Dou Zong, was marginally stronger than him. Even the leader of the Heavenly Serpent Mansion only exceeded Mo Tianxing by a small margin.

Acknowledging the sect's rules, Bai Han hesitated momentarily before withdrawing his oppressive aura. However, his gaze toward Mo Yu remained icy and sinister.

Unfazed by Bai Han's hostility, Mo Yu retracted the Fire Yao Puppet in response to Mo Tianxing's assurance.

"In that case, Sect Leader Mo, I must take my leave." Noticing the shadowy gaze of Qi Shan, Mo Yu realized there was no point in staying. Taking Qing Lin's hand, he turned to leave without waiting for a response.

The Yao brothers closely followed, while Mo Tianxing, surprised by Mo Yu's abrupt departure, seemed about to speak but stopped when he noticed the faint smirk on Qi Shan's lips.

As Mo Yu's figure disappeared, Bai Han's expression darkened. Although tempted to pursue, he hesitated, understanding the futility given Mo Yu's formidable puppet.

Outside the hall, Yao Da asked, "Manor Lord, where are we headed now?"

The Yao brothers glanced curiously at Qing Lin, feeling an immense pressure emanating from her despite her serene demeanor.

Stroking Qing Lin's head, Mo Yu's silver eyes glinted as he calmly instructed, "Find an inn nearby. Then, keep a close watch on Qi Shan. Inform me the moment he leaves the Black Emperor Sect!"

The brothers exchanged glances before nodding in unison.

After gathering information from locals, the group chose an inn named Guest Delight.

"This will do. We'll stay here for a few days. Qing Lin, you'll remain by my side," Mo Yu said, his tone firm yet gentle.

"Understood," Qing Lin replied obediently, her beautiful eyes brimming with gratitude.

Seeing her expression, Mo Yu reassured her with a smile. "This isn't your fault. Besides, what I want has never escaped my grasp."

A cold glint flashed in his silver eyes, signaling his resolve to use unconventional means if necessary.

Over the next few days, Mo Yu and Qing Lin rested while the Yao brothers diligently monitored Qi Shan's movements.

On the third day, Yao Da reported, "Qi Shan is heading to Thousand Medicine Pavilion."

"Thousand Medicine Pavilion?" Mo Yu's brows arched slightly, his silver eyes narrowing as he began to calculate his next move.

Leaving instructions for Qing Lin, Mo Yu donned a concealed black robe, ensuring he was completely unrecognizable before stepping out into the bustling streets.

The Thousand Medicine Pavilion loomed ahead, its vast and imposing structure bustling with activity.

The chaotic shouts and scolding at the entrance formed a cacophony as Mo Yu slipped inside, using subtle Dou Qi manipulation to part the crowd without drawing attention.

Inside, the noise diminished, replaced by the pungent yet invigorating aroma of countless medicinal herbs. Rows of transparent cabinets displayed a dazzling array of rare ingredients, surrounded by eager customers.

Surveying the scene briefly, Mo Yu smirked beneath his hood. He wasn't interested in the items here. Instead, he prepared to set his plan into motion.

This journey carried greater significance for Mo Yu, as he harbored more ambitious plans.

With a flick of the VIP badge Yao Da had procured for him through special connections in Black Emperor City, Mo Yu was granted entry. After verifying its authenticity, he ascended to the second floor without incident.

The second-floor hall was a striking sight, dotted with crystal display cabinets that held exquisite jade boxes. A faint, ethereal glow seeped from within, hinting at the extraordinary treasures contained inside. The hall bustled with figures clad in alchemist robes, most undoubtedly seeking to exchange for rare medicinal materials.

Mo Yu's appearance drew considerable attention, especially his black robe, which prompted a few disapproving frowns.

Typically, only alchemists were allowed on this level. Mo Yu, neither donning the alchemist's garb nor exuding a typical demeanor, appeared out of place. However, his VIP badge signified a unique status, a privilege extended only to esteemed individuals handpicked by the Thousand Medicine Pavilion. Even so, the inherent pride of alchemists ensured their disdain for those who, in their eyes, "used connections" to gain access.

"Sir, are you here to exchange for medicinal ingredients?" A soft, coquettish voice filled the air behind him shortly after his arrival.

Mo Yu turned to see a woman dressed in a red palace gown. Her alluring figure was accentuated by the tight fit of her dress, and her radiant features carried a charm that could captivate any onlooker.

"More or less," he replied calmly, his gaze briefly flicking toward the older man in simple robes standing behind her.

This white-haired elder kept his eyes partially shut, appearing as though he were dozing. However, Mo Yu's soul power, honed to the fifth-grade, revealed the truth: this man was a formidable alchemist, one whose abilities likely rivaled those of Fa Ma.

"Indeed, the Black-Corner Region is teeming with hidden talents. A single workshop here houses such a high-level alchemist," Mo Yu mused inwardly. "My mission must succeed—my Yuan Manor desperately needs a top-tier alchemist to bolster its ranks."

Sensing Mo Yu's gaze, the elder opened his eyes abruptly, locking onto Mo Yu's hidden ones beneath the black hood. Despite the veil of the robe, the elder felt as if he were staring into the boundless depths of a stormy thunder pool.

An imperceptible tingle coursed through the elder, drawing a low murmur of surprise from him.

"What's wrong, Elder Yan?" The woman in the red gown turned, puzzled by the elder's reaction.

"It's nothing," Elder Yan replied, his gaze flickering before he shook his head dismissively.

Though the elder brushed it off, the woman appeared intrigued, her beautiful eyes lingering on Mo Yu.

Hidden beneath his black robe, Mo Yu's enigmatic presence only deepened her curiosity. As the mistress of the Thousand Medicine Workshop, known as Yao Fangzhu, her charm and social graces were unmatched. Many in the hall greeted her with admiration, yet her full attention remained on Mo Yu.

"Sir, you may call me Yao Fangzhu," she said, her delicate voice imbued with a natural allure. "Might I know your name?"

"Call me Yu Mo," Mo Yu replied indifferently.

Surprise flashed briefly across Yao Fangzhu's eyes. Judging from his voice, he couldn't be very old, yet he seemed utterly unaffected by her unique allure, cultivated through years of specialized techniques. This detachment intrigued her all the more.

Her captivating eyes gleamed with increasing curiosity. Few could withstand her innate charm, especially someone so young.

"Interesting. Even my charm technique isn't enough to faze him," Yao Fangzhu thought as her fragrance grew more potent. However, Mo Yu heart remained unaffected.

Realizing her technique was having no effect, Yao Fangzhu hesitated briefly. Her track record with this method was impeccable, save for the occasional senior powerhouse.

Before she could escalate her efforts, a booming laugh erupted from the stairway, cutting through the tension.

"Yao Fangzhu, how could you start the exchange without me? Afraid I wouldn't afford the prices, are you?"

The unexpected voice silenced the bustling hall, drawing all eyes to the stairway.

Heavy footsteps echoed, and moments later, a red-faced elder in a yellow robe emerged into view.

It was none other than Qi Shan.
