Chapter 1: Firecracker

The afternoon rush is always hectic on Monday mornings because a lot of people are extra mad that it is Monday already and cannot enjoy their weekend lazing around, it's just like what Garfield the cat says 'I hate Mondays', well hellooo, if you want to keep that house, car, or that lifestyle that you are better get your lazy ass to work.

Anyway, that is not really the point right now, I really wished that today could be less hectic just like last week Friday when almost everybody went to the concert being performed by some pop-stars that I really have no knowledge about but the universe was against me.

I got a job at this restaurant Ovens'n'Batter, here we sell a lot of mouthwatering burgers, waffles, chicken and chips, parfait, cakes even milkshakes. once I get my paycheck, I'm getting everything on the menu.

Meet Angela Stone, a curvy not too curvy like the Kardashians, five foot nine tall, green eyed sweetheart with the face, full curly black hair and voice of an angel but a heart of stone, I don't mean in the evil way, but she could be that if you piss her off, the real problem here is that she doesn't believe in love or have any feelings for anyone.

It's either she feels pity or empathy for some people but that's all, never felt butterflies in her stomach, never blushed or acted weirdly whenever a good-looking guy was around.

Her friends say that she is definitely not normal because there is no other explanation for her lack of romantic availability that's what her friends call her 'condition'.

At some point they thought that she wanted to become a nun, she laughed anytime she remembered this. She has turned lots of guys who had a 'thing' for her, she cringed when she remembered one creepy guy that tried to have his way with her by trying to forcefully kiss her. He ended up with a purple eye, bloody nose and some of his teeth were missing.I forgot to mention that she's a blackbelt, been taking self-defense classes since she turned five years old.

She might not look it but she's very tough."Hey watch it you little punk" the bald old man crazy Joe said"Who are you calling little punk old man? Can't you see I'm trying to place an order?" an oddly attractive tall young man retorted"You manner less bastard you have no idea who you're talking to." Joe continued without calming down one bit.

"Listen man I just want to grab a bite, I don't want any trouble here. I'm sorry if I offended you Sir." he said his voice softening and it weirdly had a silky velvet feel to it. I really don't know how to explain it.

"Does it look like I give a damn?!" Joe bellowed, the reason for his outburst, no one actually knew, but the young man ignored him and went about his business.

This seemed to piss off crazy Joe of more that he hurled his cup of iced-coffee straight at the young man who was being attended by one of the waiters and the contents splashed all over the place and across the counter, making the whole place a mess and since it is Angela's turn to clean the place she was enraged and stormed off to where crazy Joe is, grabbed him by the collar and yelled at him for making a fuss for nothing and ruining the whole place and creating extra work for the employees.

Her face was red with anger and the old man was scared to death seeing the bubbly angelic face so furious and mad like she could murder anyone by the snap of the finger, and crazy Joe wasn't the only one in shock, but the other customers as well except for the attractive young man who had a smug smirk on his face, surprised to see a girl like her spit fire.

He liked her which was a mistake because he was going to be kicked to the curb by this crazy fireball of an employee whose name contradicted her name tag which read "ANGELA" he huffed she should have been named FIRECRACKERS caused that what rightly described her.

Angela was still holding crazy Joe's collar, tightening her grip until her co-worker touched her hand that she realized that she has been standing there for nearly two minutes', she slowly loosened her grip and walked off to grab the cleaning equipment's.

Crazy Joe was too shaken up, he just paid his bill and scurried off back to his home. The air was a little awkward and weird but slowly everything returned to normal.

Angela cleaned the counter angrily, she got a couple of stares but she couldn't care less, she knew she would definitely be reported to the manager for her outburst to a regular customer and she would either be fired or her pay check was going to be cut, so much for employee of the month and her fantasy of ordering the entire menu.

Guess she would have to wait until tomorrow to find out her fate. Thank God tomorrow is a public holiday and also her day off too. After she closed and locked up, she sulked all the way home after shopping for groceries.

She ate the leftovers from the restaurant which consisted of two double decker ham burgers and five peppered chicken drumsticks with a bottle of vanilla milkshake to take it all down, it was filling and because she was too tired she slept off after taking her shower and cleaning up the house, fed her pet dog, a German shepherd, with a slow music playing in the background, she slept peacefully.
