The next day, the troupe went to the seamstress's shop bright and early. They had taken money with them, plus, some fabrics from the markets, as they had not wanted for the seamstress to have to buy them herself. That would have simply ballooned the price and costed them precious time.
They had green and blue cotton, plus white ribbons. Their idea was to use Odette's costume as a template and work their way from there. When they reached the shop, the door was wide open.
Glad that they didn't have to wait at all, they entered the shop and rang the bell on the work top. The seamstress came soon after the bell rang, and she smiled when she saw Odette.
"Why, hello! Did you catch someone's eye with the dress I gave you? A gnome's perhaps?" The seamstress looked pointedly at Archie and Valentine. Archie patted Valentine on the back, who blushed.
"The dress was pretty, Miss..." Valentine began, but the seamstress chuckled at him.
