158. Trail of Barren and Blood
Rain again forgets of the previous incursion, he looks around him as if this is the first time he entered the weird domain.
And all around him barren land, stretching in all directions, and to the north stands a black tower whose end he cannot see. He looks around more for any of his team members finding not any of his team members.
Remembering the guidelines in the weird domain guidebook. He steps toward the black tower and finds the barren ground absorbing his vitality. He stopped and took a step back, and the barren ground stopped absorbing his vitality.
He then tried in every direction and ended with the same result. He tries to cover the soles of his shoe with genetic energy, so his body will not touch the ground. But, the result twice the speed, the barren ground absorbed his vitality.
Rain standing on the ground, where his vitality is not starts thinking how to reach the black tower. He cannot remain standing here, according to bit the weird energy level of the domain, and reach quasi-B level. This means he has two days before the domain power affects him.
To walk on the barren ground without losing virality, he has to seal his energy. He then takes a step forward, he finds from which part his vitality is absorbed. He then controls his genetic energy particles to seal that place.
With every step, the barren ground absorbs his vitality from different parts of his body and he seals it. And after ten thousand steps, he seals the energy of his entire body.
Now, Rain feels most genetic warriors will not be able to find he is a genetic energy. Walking the ten thousand steps on the barren ground teaches him how to seal his vitality and increase his control of genetic energy.
Rain again looks around before he takes the next step. He still did not find any of his team members, So started walking. He can feel the Barren Land act on his entire body again. A new type of energy enters his body and tries to break his seal, locking his vitality.
With every step, the new energy entering his body increases with it increase the pressure on the seal. Rain feels he only walk toward the black tower if he can understand the nature of the new energy. So, he stops to understand the new energy or how to expel the energy from his body.
Rain senses the mystery of the new energy. Slowly, his mind is drawn into a void filled with yellow light spots. Rain thinks this void is the same void where he comprehended the inheritance from the Super Healing Lizard.
"Let's not invest my entire thought into it." Rain then separates the wisps of his thought and enters one of the yellow light spots. And then he feels the sensation of desolation, a place without any vitality, and an insatiable hunger for vitality.
Then Rain sees a vision of a yellow color dog standing at the peak of a Hill overlooking a vast farmland with people working on it. The yellow dog place stands a yellow snake that opens its mouth toward the direction of the farmland.
Rain watches vitality escape from the farmland and the farmers and enter the mouth of a yellow giant. In a matter of seconds, the vast farmland and people disappear leaving behind a barren land, without any greener, lives or vitality on it.
And then Rain is thrown out of the void, and he feels the memory of the vision beginning to fade from his mind. Rain cannot stop, so he sends his memory to his clones. After some seconds, the memory of the vision disappears.
Rain opened his eyes in frustration, he tried to comprehend the rule behind the new energy but failed. Even, He is unable to find the rule behind the new energy, only thinks he knows, that it absorbs vitality.
With no choice left, Rain sighs in disappointment and prepares to step forward. He raises his right foot to walk toward the black tower and find a way to strengthen the seal. But he takes back the foot and closes his eyes, as a new memory appears sent by his two clones.
Rain watches the memory, he stands in silence, ready for the memory to be erased again but nothing happens. He cannot tell what radiation beast it is, this time is the first time he saw it. It must be on other continents.
Even he cannot tell it is a radiation beast because, at the last moment, he was thrown out by the void. Rain saw the giant turn into a teenage boy, wearing jeans and a t-shirt. So, it can be a human also but Rain guesses its strength is one step away from S-rank.
This can happen, only when someone, is starting control of a rule of the world. The someone will become the incarnation of the rule. He learned it in Star Immortal a shortcut to breakthrough Divine throne realm which will be S-rank here.
But, most or all 'Sky place' realm powerhouses will not use this method to advance to the 'Divine throne' realm because every one of them has the ambition to advance to the 'Star immortal' realm. But merging with rule affects the cultivator's chance to advance the 'Star immortal' realm. Which may even become zero percent.
Rain shakes his head, for this thought to disappear of distant future events. He has not even reached the third rank. He is thinking about the 'Divine throne' realm. Which are four major realms higher than him?
He is confident he will advance to the 'Divine throne' but it is a topic after around 100 years for him. For now, he has to reach the black tower, find his teammate, and escape from there.
The Vision will not be able to help him to reach the black tower. Rain stands there, and closes his eye to feel the barren energy impacting his seal. He discovers that the barren energy is not completely impacting his seal, only attacking some parts of the seal.
Rain finds where the barren energy is impacting are the weak points of the seal. If he walks a few meters ahead, the barren energy inside his body will increase and may even break the seal and devour all his vitality.
He fixes the weak spots and starts walking toward the black tower again. He will stop when he finds the seal cannot handle the barren energy, he will fix the seal and will start his walking. After, a couple of hours, Rain stands in front of the door of the black tower.
Rain examines his body and finds that now if he steps in front of someone they will not notice him. The seal will make anyone a top assassin with some training. The seal now not only hid his vitality but also his sense of presence.
He finds that his genetic control skill also increases reaching the threshold of C-rank genetic warrior. He can with genetic energy form some simple cells of the super healing lizard. Now with less genetic power, he can launch a powerful attack.
He waited for other team members to come but finding no one, he opened the door and entered the black tower.

Rain stepping through the domain gate, finds no one around who came before him, and turns back to see the domain gate vanish. And most bizarre thinks he is not in a rainforest but all around him is a blood-red plain with poodles of blood spread around him.
He also spotted the black tower but his eyes were on the sun and the color of the sky, all in the color of blood. A gust of wind blows on Rain's face, drawing a frown on his face as he smells blood on the wind.
His frown deepens as he feels uneasy and his sense screams danger. " There is no use standing at a place."

As Rain takes the first step, he hears the sound of a squeak like stepping on wet ground. Rain's frown deepen thinking the ground is soaked with blood.
"I do not remember, they were battlefield or ancient battlefields at the area around the mine."
" If there were not any battlefields around the area how is this type of domain formed, only A and S-rank domains can form their own."
" And this domain is a quasi-B-rank, how can this domain be formed with ground, sky, and everything soaked in blood without any ancient battlefields around it."
He believes domains lower than A-rank cannot be formed without the support and influence of their environment. Scientists, researchers, and others extensively research weird domains as the most dangerous for humans's survival.
And if this domain is formed without the influence of its surroundings, then it will be a discovery, Rain thought.
Before he can think further, he has to stop, as he notices around him the blood puddle starts squirming, and from there emerges humanoid bat monsters, same as his height. Their strength varies lowest are initial D-rank and the strongest are peak D-rank monsters.
And he feels creepy seeing all of them turn their blood-red eyes toward him and they all attack him. Rain takes out his sword and charges at the weaker ones. He does not want to be surrounded, one by one not one bat is his opponent.
But all of them, if they surround him, then he will be in danger. So, Rain did not stop at a spot for a moment but landing hit one bat, he moved to attack the next. Even with his fast speed and combat skill, the bat can land hits on him.
Rain did not pay attention to this, as he knows with the number of bats they would land sporadic hits on him. What he was not able to guess was that their claws could cut through his genetic energy and injure him. The claws of the bats are poisonous which does not affect him.
Rain finds again If he is near any puddle from where the Humanoid Bat monster did not come out, a Bat monster will come out. He then decided not to run around but run toward the black tower. He does need extra enemies, to kill.
Rain while running toward the black monster, will kill the Humanoid Bat because if he kills a bat, a blood color light flies out toward them and enters his body. He receives a message as the blood color light enters his body- that if he can kill 1000 bat monsters before he leaves, he will be awarded a practice method of dual Blood and Dead rule.
Rain's attribute does not match with Blood and Dead but it is a rare and dual type practice method. He may be unable to use it now but it will be useful in the future. For him to diversify, so nobody can target his weakness.
After, receiving this message, Rain walks out of his way to kill the monster and he is able to kill 1000 of them before his genetic energy runs out. And he has to enter the black tower. Before he can receive the inheritance everything around him turns black.
And he forgets his memory again and finds himself standing behind a fence gate and he sees outside of the gate is a gladiator arena,
