The woman sat down on the ground and, holding her left hand with a slight grimace, quickly began to deny it.
"No, no. I'm fine. I'm not in any pain. There's no need to call an ambulance. I'm sorry I ran into the road without paying attention.. I hope I didn't damage your car."
The woman suddenly began to examine the hood with concern in her eyes.
"There's nothing wrong with the car, but maybe I should take you to the hospital and make sure you're okay?"
Sophie was very nervous after such an incident. It was the first time in her life that something like this had happened to her and she didn't know exactly what she should do.
"No, no. I'm really fine. I just got a little bruised. There's no need for a doctor. I apologize again for hitting your car. I have to go now. I'm in a hurry."
The woman stood up, bowed to Sophie a few times and walked away quickly, still holding her left hand visibly.
Sophie looked at the departing woman for a while, wondering if she had done the right thing by letting her go.
She could have at least taken her to the hospital to check if everything was okay, but the woman strongly denied it and disappeared quite quickly.
Worried, Sophie got back into the car and returned to Darell's apartment.
Her strange behavior did not escape his gaze.
"Is something wrong?" He asked, taking her in his arms and looking at her carefully.
"Um. When I was leaving the shooting range, I accidentally hit a woman. I wanted to take her to the hospital but she refused and left quickly. Now that I think about it, I reacted pretty quickly. I don't know how I hit her anyway" Sophie, frowning, replayed the whole event in her head once again.
"You could have taken her to the doctor whether she wanted to or not"
"Her strong denial was strange. Any normal person would want to check if something happened to him. Why didn't she want to and left so quickly?"
Sophie felt that something was wrong and Darell, hearing this story, unfortunately agreed with her.
"Let's just hope nothing comes of this," Darell said as he led Sophie to the kitchen to eat dinner together. However, this event haunted them.
Walking to the office in the morning, they saw how right they were.
In the early morning, several journalists were standing in front of the building with the same woman who had been hit by Sophie's car the day before.
With her arm in a cast, she was wailing and crying, attracting the attention of more and more people.
The employees entering the office looked strangely at the unaware Sophie, who had not yet heard anything.
When Diana rushed into the office, she grabbed the surprised Sophie by the hand and led her to her brother's office.
Darell looked at the women entering the office with a serious face. He already knew.
He turned his laptop towards Sophie and played her a video posted on the internet with her in the lead role.
Someone had intentionally recorded the scene when she hit the woman with her car.
The video was silent but the headline said 'How the upper class treats ordinary people'.
The description included a statement from a victim who claimed that she was blackmailed by Sophie if she told anyone.
Regardless of her injuries she told her to get lost and told her that she had lucky to not scratching her expensive car.
A lot of comments criticized Sophie's behavior heavily, having no idea if what was written was true.
After all, the video had no voice and they were unable to prove that it was just a scam.
Sophie turned pale reading the comments slandering her. She had a feeling yesterday that something was wrong.
Clenching her jaw, she wondered what to do to clear her name and show that it was all a lie.
After a while, however, comments began to appear about her origins and that she was the daughter of the cruel Ruslanov.
People quickly realized that the daughter was also just as bad as the other two. After all, no one was able to touch them.
So what could ordinary people do when wealthy gangsters bullied them?
The situation was getting worse with every passing moment.
Darell's company was also drawn into this as a collusion with the 'worst' for a better profit.
Darell's phone started ringing. People demanded an explanation. No one would want to be connected with bad reviews.
Sophie and Darell had to think of something quickly to clear themselves of the accusations. Otherwise, their company's shares would start to fall.
Sophie wanted to call Zick, but before she did, an angry Anton entered the office.
Loosening the tie around his neck, he tried not to explode.
"What a childish play. She should be happy I didn't break her other arm" He snapped, scaring Sophie with this confession.
"Did you do something to her?"
"Not yet. But she will pay for slandering you. She shouldn't think she can destroy our reputation with impunity" He growled. "She's sitting in front of the building and whining about the injustice that happened to her. Ha! She should just wait. I'll give her a reason to cry."
The three of them, hearing his threat and seeing his facial expression, swallowed hard.
"Don't worry about anything. I'll sort it out. Everything will be sorted out by the end of the day. Go about your daily work."
Anton kissed his sister on the cheek and left the office.
The three people looked at each other and came to the conclusion that they had no choice but to listen to Anton.
If he said he'd sort it out, then he would. They wouldn't interfere, not knowing if it would only make it worse.
Anton, leaving the building, walked past a still-grieving woman.
Several of the braver journalists approached him and began to ask him about yesterday's event.
However, one look at the men and everyone quickly fell silent in fear.
