Awakening The Silver Wolf

RAVENNA POV

During breakfast, Darius had walked up to me in the dining hall, kissed me until I was lightheaded in front of his pack, and then told me to meet him in the woods an hour later.

So here I was, walking towards the woods, my fingers tracing my lips, and a full-bloom smile on my face. If anybody saw me now they would immediately know I was a love-sick idiot.

I couldn't help myself if I tried.

It was the way he had kissed me in front of those many people as if letting them all know who I belonged to. And it hasn't been a light kiss. It was a wild kiss that had my panties soaked.

If I had my way I wouldn't take my hands off Darius.

"You're looking like a lovesick dreamer," says the voice of my fantasizing.

I stopped walking and saw that Darius was in front of me. I looked around and I was already in the woods. When have I gotten here?

I looked back at Darius, who was dressed in all black and had his hair tied up. "And whose fault is that?"

A smile curved his lips before he walked to me and wrapped his arms around my waist, dragging me close to him so there wasn't any space between our bodies. "Mine."

And then he kissed me. Slow at first before his lips became urgent and desperate. He pried my lips open with his tongue and slipped it inside, curling and teasing my tongue before he sucked on it.

I moaned into his mouth and pressed myself against his hard body, feeling his hardening erection on my stomach.

Darius broke the kiss and his lips traveled to my neck, sucking on the skin between my shoulder and neck.

"I don't want to ever take my hands off you," he growled, his hands kneading my backside.

"That makes two of us."

"God, I want you so badly, Ravenna." His voice has turned husky.

"Are you going to take me here?" I asked breathlessly. I wouldn't mind being fucked on the hard ground as long as he just entered me and quenched this fire that was burning in my core.

Those words seemed to drag Darius out of the cloud of lust before he growled before he pulled away from me. "Right. We came here for a reason," he said, his shoulders tended. I looked down to see his dick pressing against his pants.

I swallowed and looked back up at him. "Can't it wait?"

"No," he answered, his voice strained. I could see how hard it was for him to hold himself back. If he could I also could as well. We'll continue later.

I took a deep breath and released it slowly. "Alright then. Why are we here?"

Darius was already back to composed as he said, "Training."

"Training," I repeated.

"We're going to train your wolf."

"Oh."

Darius nodded, his hands clasped behind his back, his face focused. "You're an expert in hand-to-hand combat, sword fighting, and the rest. Those things are perfect to survive but now you have another weapon. And a really strong one."

I nodded as he spoke.

He continued. "Today we're starting with shifting."

I winced, my heart kicking.

Darius' expression softened. He took a step forward before he stopped himself. "I know, baby. Shifting is painful. I won't lie and say the pain will stop the more you shift. It won't. But it'll get easier and you'll become used to it. Your first shift hurt like hell. Your second will also hurt like that but lessen just by a little. Third, fourth, fifth, and you won't feel like you'll want to die."

I took a deep breath. "So… so this shift will be as painful as the first?"

He nodded. "But I'll help you, guide you to make it less painful. And also you must learn to wrestle back control from your wolf. She'll want to take over but you must not let that happen. Fight for control. Don't give in to your animal instincts. Find a place in you, like a leash, and hold onto it." He paused, letting his words sink before he asked, "Are you ready?"

I took a really deep breath in and released it, trying to soothe my nerves before I nodded.

"Focus on your breathing," Darius said, his voice low and steady. "In through your nose, out through your mouth. Relax your body. Let the tension go."

I did as he instructed, taking slow, deep breaths, feeling the tension begin to release from my shoulders, my arms, and my legs.

But still, the nervousness lingered. This wasn't like the combat training I was used to. I couldn't prepare myself for the pain, not like I could with a sword in my hand or fists ready to strike.

Darius stepped closer, his presence comforting despite the challenge that lay ahead. "This is a part of you now, Ravenna. The wolf is a part of your soul. You need to stop thinking of it as something separate. It's not just an ability—it's a bond. A connection."

I nodded, trying to push aside my fear. His words resonated deep within me, but that still didn't change the fact that I had no idea how much control I would have over what was coming.

"Now," he continued, his eyes never leaving mine, "I want you to close your eyes and feel the shift, feel your wolf inside of you. Don't force it, don't rush it. Just… allow it. Let the wolf rise naturally, but hold onto your humanity. Keep a grip on yourself. But first, you'll need to take off your clothes."

I arched an eyebrow at him. "Why?"

Darius rolled his eyes but there was a grin on his lips. "You're shifting, Ravenna. Your clothes will be destroyed. If you're fine with walking back naked to the pack house then suit yourself. Just know I'll plug out anybody's eyes who dared to look at you."

My face heated and I immediately took off my sweater. The cold air bit at my skin but I didn't feel the cold with how heated Darius' gaze was.

I took my time taking off my clothes and then I was standing naked in front of him, feeling my body heat from where his eyes touched me.

He swallowed before he inhaled, going back to composed but the heated look remained. "Now, shift. Feel the wolf inside you. Don't force it. Don't rush it."

I closed my eyes, my breathing deepening as I tried to center myself. I could feel it, like a current deep within, just waiting to be released. The wolf was there, beneath the surface, clawing at the walls of my mind. Her presence was strong and insistent. But I had to remind myself—I was the one in control.

The heat began to build beneath my skin, a pressure that started in my chest and spread outward, like a wildfire consuming me. It was the same sensation I had felt the first time, but this time I knew it would hurt. I knew it would tear me apart.

Darius stepped forward, his hand resting on my shoulder, grounding me. "Remember what I said. You must hold onto that leash. It's there. You just need to find it. And don't let go."

I nodded, my body trembling as the heat continued to intensify. My bones ached as though they were being pulled apart, reshaped into something foreign. My muscles twitched, my skin crawled, and the pain was searing, relentless. I wanted to scream, but I forced the sound back.

Don't give in.
