Chapter 37: Magic Essence Circuit

The party ended late at night, and Julius stayed up in his room. In his hands was the crown, which had a small crystal embedded in it, and he viewed the information.

[Item: Royal crown]

[Rank: Epic]

[Description: Only a direct family member of the royal family can wield this crown. It has essence-enhancing effects and strengthens the wielder. It also has recovery runes on it for healing and essence recovery.]

Julius smiled as he saw the information and put it on the table beside his bed.

'This is just the beginning. I'll be off to Midgard Academy in the next few days, and it'll be nice to prepare for the class placement exam,' he thought as he collapsed on his bed.

It was very fortunate for him to have been reincarnated into the royal family. Although being targeted by his siblings was bad, if he was born as a random commoner, it would've been way more challenging to get all he had now.

He checked his pocket to see the ring that was given to him by the guild leader earlier.

Controlling his essence, he frowned as he saw various items within the ring. He pulled out a red ball-sized crystal, which rested on his hand.

'This energy...' he frowned.

[Item: Three-horned Minotaur's Essence Core]

[Rank: Tier 7 Level 5]

[Description: Gotten from the Blood Crystal Dungeon. It can enhance a warrior's essence circuit and boost their essence circulation. It can also be used for giving items circuits as it has a large amount of magic essence.]

Julius smiled as he saw this and then chuckled to himself.

"The guild master must be generous. Looks like I already know the guild I'll join after I graduate," he smiled.

'Tier-seven beasts are not only hard to come by but are extremely powerful as they can control other creatures. One of them is enough to lay waste to the kingdom if they get loose.' He shook his head at the thought.

He pulled out the Aetherveil, the weapon he picked from the royal treasury, and placed the black blade on his lap.

'I was thinking of just outright editing the sword in the academy when I get plot points, but since I got this gem now...'

Julius looked over to his drawer and pulled out the mana-conducting pen, the same one he used to alter the slave rune on Ivana.

He opened the bottom and then placed it on the red crystal. The energy leaking from the crystal suddenly began entering the pen.

Julius was also well aware that his personal knight was watching him right now, and he had a solution.

'I don't have an essence circuit yet, but I should be able to fix the broken one on this weapon,' he thought, using the Eye of Providence to see the mystical lines tracing and connecting all over the weapon.

He could see parts that cut off on the blade, and he began to fix them one by one.

---

BOOM!

A wave of wild energy spread all over the castle as Julius finished what he was doing. He raised a brow as he looked at the weapon, which floated above his legs.

Instead of the same dull black blade, there were lines tracing all the way from the hilt to the top, all connected and forming a circuit.

He smiled, stored the weapon in the storage ring, and then looked outside his room to see Ray blocking people from entering the room.

'Well, I didn't know that it would bring this much attention,' he sighed, standing up from the bed and making his way to the door.

"You should check if the prince is okay."

"We have been waiting for over ten minutes; his food will get cold."

Clack!

Julius stepped outside the room, and all the maids bowed to him.

"Your Highness!"

He raised a brow as he saw various trays and a few of them holding other items for him. He nodded to Ray.

"Is it already morning?" he asked, and Ray nodded.

"You have been fixing the weapon for over seven hours," Ray said, shaking his head.

He was fascinated with all the talents the prince had been showing ever since he awakened magic. He had never seen the prince so lively in a long time.

"What of Alexa?" Julius asked as he walked forward, and Ray sighed.

"She's having a meeting with Queen Margaret," a maid said as she laid the tray of food on a table close to his bed before flaunting her cleavage in front of Julius.

Julius couldn't help but smile at this behavior.

'How differently I'm being treated because I'm a direct heir now. Even if I get targeted, it won't make much of a difference. I have been targeted from the start.' His expression grew cold.

There was an envelope before the tray and a ring close to it. Julius opened the envelope to see an invitation card from Midgard Academy, and he smiled while putting down the card.

He picked up the ring and analyzed it.

[Item: Three-Layer Storage Ring]

[Rank: Epic-1]

Julius knew exactly the type of ring it was and saw the dragon emblem on the ring.

'I've seen these with my brothers before. So it was a privilege, tsk...' He looked into it to see a lot of essence stones like the red gem he got just now.

'Whoa, how many are they?'

'Over seventy. Although they are second-echelon and first-echelon essence stones, they are still useful to me. With this, I'll be able to break into the second echelon before I enter the academy,' he thought with a smile on his face, and then he put it on and continued eating.

All preparations were set now... Time to go to the academy.

---

One week later, Julius had already packed his bag in his storage ring and moved toward a carriage outside the castle gates.

He glanced at the fancy golden carriage, and the knight in front of it was in black armor.

'Hm, Black Knights? The ones that only follow the king,' he thought to himself.

These were the elite of the elite within the royal clan, on par with the clan elders themselves, each one.

"You don't look nervous at all."

Julius felt someone grab his arm, and he looked to his side to see Sasha clinging to him.

"Why would I be nervous? Although there's a placement exam, we'll all just do our best," he said to her, and she smiled at him and stepped into the carriage.

This was Julius' first time leaving the castle gates since he came to this world. The triplets were also on the other side of the carriage, and they all sat in silence.

The streets were very lively, and he could see a lot of people enjoying themselves, with businesses on each street bustling with people.

'The day being dark doesn't affect the people. Too bad this peace won't last forever.'

....

Ray, Julius' personal Knight knelt before the king in a wide bedroom and the king cleaned a sword which was on his lap carefully.

"About Julius. What can you telle about him?" Karim asked, his dark eyes darting to the knight.

"Well, he's no ordinary kid that's for sure. Ever since he awakened his essence, he has shown remarkable talent in a number of things. He drew a mana circuit on a weapon, and... He is contracted to the Sonata."

The king stopped what he was doing the moment he heard the name of the piano and turned to the knight again.

"And you're just telling me now?" A pressure fell on the knight and the entire room began to shake in that moment.

"Argh... I didn't tell you because it didn't affect him at all. I watch him play it often and he seems to be able to control it very well." Ray said and the pressure was lifted off of his shoulders in that moment.

"What a shocking child? I wonder how he'll turn out to be after he graduates in the academy." Karim smiled, the wind grazing his white skin as he stared out the window.
