Cynthia charles

Just as he was lost in thought, a beautiful woman entered. She wore a business suit, her facial features stunning with black hair and black eyes. However, her expression seemed cold and serious, accentuating her icy beauty.

Noel's gaze locked onto the woman, and his memory jogged. He knew her identity—Cynthia Charles, his wife, or rather, the wife of the body's previous owner.

Cynthia entered, followed by Lana, her secretary, who had sharp features and a petite build.

Cynthia's stern face showed no concern or sympathy. "Are you okay?" she asked.

Noel mesmerized by her beauty, didn't answer her as he felt as if an angel is standing in front of him.

Lana spoke loudly as she felt offended because of Noel staring at Cynthia, "hey, have you become deaf after your accident, can't you answer what she is asking."

her voice was not loud but loud enough that Noel felt punching her face, he looked at her as an image of overprotective secretary came in Noel's mind.

Cynthia stopped Lana as she raised her hand which attracts Noel's attention towards Cynthia. he then answered, "I'm feeling okay now, you don't have to worry."

Lana replied as she heard this, "she not worries about you, stop dreaming"

Noel looked at cynthia's eyes as he ignored Lana's blabber, "you may not be worried but thanks for coming here." in inside Noel felt, "why am I feeling this way, these are not my words."

Cynthia replied, "it's good if you're okay, I'll take my leave." with that she turned as her phone rings.

'Mother calling….'

she picker her phone as her mother speaks from another side, "Cynthia where are you? why you are not here at the court and why I can't reach that good for nothing, whose phone is switched off since morning."

Cynthia answered, "mom what's the matter, I'm busy right now and what do you want from Noel?"

her mother answered, "Cynthia have you forgot, today is your divorce and you promised us to divorce that good for nothing."

Cynthia looked confused, "when did you planned this and why I didn't know about this?"

her mother, "Cynthia, didn't your little brother informed you about your divorce?" her mother asked a question as she knew Cynthia won't lie to her.

Cynthia, "no mother, this is my first time hearing this" then she looked Lana, "do you know about this?"

Lana denied, "no, I'm also confused as you're and he did call many times but you have told me to ignore the calls so maybe that's why"

hearing this her mother spoke, "now you know right, come fast at the court and called that freeloader to come fast or I'll skin him alive."

Cynthia looked at Noel, "well mom… he's not in a condition to come at the court."

her mother, "why, did he commit suicide after knowing that you're going to divorce him?" she mocked Noel.

Noel was silent while Cynthia didn't answer her mother but Lana spoke, "it seems likes this, that he tried to commit suicide after knowing that this was his last day as cynthia's husband."

Cynthia glared at Lana, while Noel wanted to spank her.

Cynthia addressed her mother, "Mother, he had an accident and is hospitalized. Can't we postpone this? I'm not free either."

Cynthia's mother yelled from the other end, "Cynthia, you promised the family, and now you're saying you don't have time for this? Just come, sign, and go. Bring that loser with you, or should I come there personally?"

Cynthia felt a headache coming on due to her mother's persistence. "Mom, I'm not denying, I just want to postpone this for a few days until he recovers."

Her mother remained firm. "No, Cynthia, not again. If he can't come himself, then bring him with you. We can't delay this any longer."

Cynthia pleaded, "But Mom—"

Her mother hangs up, "Tut-tut."

Noel thought to himself, "Well, she's beautiful, and no sane man would divorce such a fine woman, but I don't like her mother's tone. And especially this overprotective secretary of hers... it's better I keep my distance from these people and focus on the matter at hand."

He tried to get up from the bed, removing the drip from his hand. "Let's go."

Cynthia and Lana looked at him in surprise. Cynthia knew Noel had feelings for her, which made her consider delaying the divorce. She also believed he tried to commit suicide because of the divorce, although she didn't care about the marriage. She wasn't heartless, but she was busy with her projects and couldn't spare time for family and love.

Cynthia couldn't believe her ears. "Is this good-for-nothing really doing this?" As she watched him remove the drip, she spoke, "You don't have to; Mother's always been like this. Just ignore her words and rest. We can do this later."

But Noel got up, despite stumbling slightly. "I think this is best for all of us. Just help me a little, and let's end this here." He wanted to end things, but an uneasy feeling lingered in his heart.

Suppressing the feeling, he stood up. Cynthia wanted to stop him, but seeing his resolute expression, she agreed and signaled Lana to support him.

Lana pouted in anger but followed, helping Noel to the car.

As they left the ward, a nurse approached, "Excuse me, where are you taking the patient without discharging him? You can't do that."

Cynthia replied, "Don't worry, we'll take care of things here," and handed the nurse her card. "Just give this to the higher-ups."

She headed toward the parking lot, where a white label luxury car waited.

Lana helped Noel into the front seat, while Cynthia sat in her usual seat. Lana took the wheel, driving toward the court.

As the car drove away, a woman stood on the hospital's rooftop, watching Cynthia's car disappear into the distance with Noel.

As the car moved further from the hospital, the woman smiled enigmatically.

Then, in an instant, she vanished from the terrace, leaving no indication she had ever been there.

The hospital's rooftop seemed empty once more, as if the woman was just a fleeting shadow.

Noel, oblivious to the mysterious observer, sat in the car, lost in his thoughts.

Cynthia, beside him, glanced occasionally, her expression unreadable.

Lana drove in silence, her eyes fixed on the road ahead.

The trio headed toward the court, unaware of the unseen eyes that had watched them depart.
