Chruch and the Demon Slayer

"I promise you, I'll bring her head to you," Andrew vowed, "but this isn't the right time."

His wife protested, "Why not? She's out in the open, far from her mother's protection. This is our chance to claim our revenge." Her voice was angry, she was desperate for the revenge.

Andrew's voice turned menacing, a low growl. "Don't be foolish. Look at her that servant of her. Do you think her mother would send her daughter alone after what happened that year?"

His wife asked, her tone subdued after Andrew's warning growl, "Who is he that makes you hesitant?"

Andrew's expression turned grave. "You may not know him, but I do. A century ago, he was infamous as the Black Calamity. His reign of terror lasted only a few years, but his legend endures. Many still whisper his name in fear. His power rivals that of the 8th Brother. Now you understand why I caution against rash action."

his wife exclaimed. Andrew's family was vast, with twenty-five siblings: sixteen brothers and ten sisters. As the eleventh son, Andrew was remarkably powerful, yet he ranked below many of his brothers and sisters.

Knowing that Sameera's servant matched the strength of Andrew's eighth brother, a position that placed him firmly within the top five most powerful siblings, his wife understood the gravity of Andrew's concerns and nodded in agreement.

"Let's first uncover why the Vampire Princess is interested in that mortal," Andrew said. A nagging doubt crept into his mind: Could Noel be the Anomaly? But, familiar with Noel's history, Andrew quickly dismissed the notion.

"Isn't it obvious?" his wife said, her voice laced with disdain. "Female vampires often capture handsome human males for their amusement. They'll toy with him, torture him, drain his blood, and then discard him like a plaything."

Andrew nodded in agreement, then inquired, "What became of that police officer?" referring to the one he had instructed to arrest Noel.

His wife replied, "He's been arrested for abusing his authority. His professional history is now subject to a thorough investigation."

Andrew's anger flared. "It's futile to involve mortals in our affairs," he growled. "Summon the Lunar Guards. Task them with investigating this matter."

His wife warned, "Wait, this could escalate tensions with the Church. You know how relentless they can be."

Andrew's expression turned resolute. "To hell with them. They'll be preoccupied with the Vampire Princess for now. Things are about to take a change; summon the Lunar Guards immediately."

Meanwhile somewhere inside the church,

a Priest clads in white robes knelt before a figure shrouded in darkness. The man wore a black, thick-furred coat that enveloped a sleek, form-fitting bodysuit and pants, adorned with metallic hooks. Two gleaming daggers hung from the hooks.

Seated on his throne, John's eyes remained closed as he inquired, "Who was involved?"

The priest replied with reverence, "It was a vampire girl who attacked the mortal, sir. However, our investigation reveals the mortal provoked her. The Awakener Organisation has also issued a statement advising against pursuing the matter further."

after the long silence, john spoke, "And the vampire girl? What action was taken?" John's tone remained calm, but a hint of curiosity seeped through.

The priest in white robes replied, "No action was taken, sir. The vampire girl is of royal lineage. Following the Awakener Organisation's statement, his Eminence instructed us to refrain from further action."

As the man's eyes fluttered open, the soft light revealed a youthful face, surprisingly young for one of his statures. He appeared to be in his early 30s.

"Why would Father do that?" he wondered aloud, his brow furrowed in concern. "This is the first time he's held back from taking action when those creatures harmed our kind."

The priest said, "That's all I know, sir. The High Priest might have additional information."

John's face fell at the mention of the High Priest. "I don't need his help," he said, standing up. "I'll uncover the truth myself."

The priest looked worried. "Sir, but his Eminence specifically ordered caution when dealing with those individuals."

John nodded firmly. "I won't attack unless they attack me. I want everyone to know my name: John, the Demon Slayer."

The church's membership was divided into two factions: Priests and Warriors. To the public, all members were referred to as Priests. The church's hierarchy consisted of the Head of the Religion, followed by the High Priest.

The Head of the Church hailed from the Warrior faction, also known as Demon Slayers in the supernatural world, equipped with Holy Magic bestowed by their God. The Warriors fought for human safety.

In contrast, the Priests focused on helping human society. The High Priest, representing the Priest faction, believed there should be no internal divisions within the church. According to the High Priest, Warriors should be subordinate to Priests, as Priests were the face of the church.

However, the Head of the Church preferred maintaining the current dual-faction structure. This fundamental disagreement sparked internal conflict between the two groups.

In the quiet solitude of his chambers, the High Priest prayed fervently, "May God guide us to end the pagans' suffering and wipe out the forces of darkness that plague our world."

The High Priest's subordinate, a concerned Priest, spoke up, "Sir, but the Head of the Church has explicitly ordered us to refrain from taking action against those people. How should we proceed?"

The High Priest's expression turned resolute. "That's precisely why I'm worried about our leadership. This issue presents a crucial opportunity for us to finally eliminate the demons living among us."

"I've made my decision," the High Priest declared. "Reach out to them and confirm my acceptance of their proposal."

The Head of the Church spoke urgently over the phone, "The Prophecy has begun. Can we identify the anomaly?"

The man's response was laced with seasoned gravity. "Those who know the prophecy will relentlessly pursue the anomaly, no matter the cost. Still, the gods themselves couldn't foresee its origin or form."

The man's voice turned stern. "And what about the recent incident? Did your Church refrain from taking action against that girl?"
