In an attempt to escape his hellish fate, Kai is forced to tread a grey area where there are few allies and all sides view him as a tool or an enemy, relying on the presence of one girl who chose him above all else to keep himself from falling into despair and insanity. 

Humanity is doomed unless he and others like himself rise up against the endless hordes of demons and find a way to close the gates of Hél, but is it worth the sacrifice? 

Will he willingly save the very people who turned their backs on him, or will he choose the ever-widening path of darkness and become what they all fear he will?

"What do you want from me?" Kai asked.

The room had gone silent, Andrew, Ava, Fritz, and the people on the other side of the glass all stared at him with expressions of disbelief both on what he had done and what he was saying.

"It's easy," Kai answered the statement rather than stand there and listen to the lecture the director was about to start. "You want to know if I value human life, you're testing my capabilities to determine whether I should be killed or controlled, you're already contemplating calling all of this off, I can tell, so let me make it easy for you."

"Kai..." Ava stood next to the tread staring at him as with his hands akimbo while he spoke to the man inside of the elevated room. "Stop before they do something."
