TREMBLING

She wanted to say no, to tell them she needed more time yet, she just couldn't talk, her voice was stuck, maybe because she knew even if she had refused no one would like to hear her opinion, it felt quite suffocating to be everyone's scapegoat.

Batool's palms were sweaty as she fidgeted with her hands, thick and hot tears flowed down from her eyes, yet no one in that room payed attention to her tears... Maybe because some couldn't see her tears because of the veil and maybe some just didn't want do anything about it, at every moment that passed, her heart beat fastened, she began to have a hard time breathing, but rather than telling anyone she stayed silent.

Maybe if she passed out they'll let her go maybe just maybe, was what was in her mind as she saw black dots in front of her eyes.

Batool was in an uncomfortable situation, she couldn't breath, couldn't speak, couldn't stop her tears she wished to loose conscious yet she wasn't able to... Her body didn't allow it, just as batool was on the verge of fainting zhaigum spoke up "mm... Mom? Can I ask you something?", she snapped out, out of her daze, out of her thoughts as zhaigum's voice echoed in that graveyard of a room, the room was silent like an graveyard before zhaigum abbas her very own cousin spoke... She didn't know what he wanted to ask or was trying to do however she was grateful to him, batool's whole attention drifted to her cousin, so did everyone's attention.

Aiza nodded at zhaigum, giving him the permission to ask her the question, after receiving her permission he immediately mentioned "mom, why are we straight jumping to the Nikkah... We haven't even done any traditions or anything?".

Hearing his curiosity filled question, Aiza sighed and explained "the shah family values it's own traditions, it's their family's tradition that their weddings must be kept simple, no mehndi no baraat nothing like that.... They just simply want a Nikkah" Aiza had the expression of a tired single mother while she talked.

Batool could hear their voices but couldn't understand what they were talking about, however she was extremely grateful, grateful to zhaigum for speaking, grateful to Aiza for replying, grateful to them for continuing their conversation...it made her divert her attention to them, saving her from breaking down, Maybe if he didn't speak she might really have a break down infront of everyone, well that sounded like a really scary thing... if she really broke down no one can imagine what would happen to the sikandar family.

As the mother and son duo continued their conversation, batool felt much more calm than before however that didn't mean she wasn't feeling nervous anymore, batool was nervous, however what she was now worried about wasn't the wedding but something else... Her makeup... It was ruined by her crying she knew she was probably looking not less than a clown, batool had to thank God in her mind that she had a veil on if it wasn't for the veil the situation would've been too embarrassing.

Oh well there was one more thing batool forgot, however she was going to become aware of it soon enough... Batool was still in her thoughts thinking about her ruined make up and clown like face when suddenly the room went silent, she frowned and raised her head to look up but only to see everyone staring at her like she was a lamb waiting to be slaughtered, batool flinched.

Batool waited for a minute... But no one spoke however when she decided to speak to them in addition asked them what was the matter?... she froze as she heard the intensified and loud classical music coming from outside, well that only meant one thing... It was time for the bride to arrive in the hall.

Aiza spoke after seeing batool wasn't even moving "batool... It's time to go out" she flinched hard....she looked up dumbfounded before nodding fastly, batool got up in a hurry that almost made her crash into the table, well the almost was only added because zhaigum reacted faster than anyone else there he caught batool's arm before she could fall, but again batool wasn't in the mind to thank him.

"carefu--" before aiza could tell her concern zhaigum had already caught batool, zhaigum held her arm firmly and steadied her, aiza immediately went silent and went to hold batool's other arm, aiza wanted to say something but stayed silent after seeing zhaigum's stoic expression.

On her left was zhaigum holding her arm and on her right was aiza supporting her, batool was between them shivering hard.

Meanwhile zhaigum's face was so cold aiza could feel chills from seeing it, zhaigum's hold on batool slightly tightened as he felt her shivering he could tell she was panicking hard, it wasn't the first time he was seeing someone panicking like this but as always he could not do anything.

Batool's mind was quite hazy as they helped her to the door, eventually Shahan and Hamza followed them too, her head was lowered the whole time as they led her she could hear whispers from all around but didn't had the courage to raise her head... Batool tried her best to stop shaking but all her efforts were in vain as she couldn't stop.

He was standing at the altar, irtaza's light gray eyes never left the bride as she walked out of those big and elegant doors, his eyes were following and observing her each and every move as she walked towards the altar slowly, but he raised his left eyebrow when his eyes fell on the guy standing on her left, well he was holding her tightly a little too tightly for irtaza's liking, irtaza wasn't jealous or anything like that he was just in disbelief, disbelief at the fact someone could hold his partner like this that too infront of him.

Irtaza knew the girl he was going to marry didn't had a brother or any siblings so this guy couldn't be put in that category, that only meant he was either her cousin or a male friend.... And honestly irtaza wasn't really fond of that idea he disliked someone touching his things and that too so boldly infront of him.

Irtaza came forward as the bride had already reached the altar, he offered his hand to her and waited for her to put her hand on his.

But as a minute passed he didn't felt her hand he turned his head to her, the guests were whispering among themselves after seeing the bride not moving while aiza's forehead was covered with cold sweat... It was zhaigum who racked his brain and moved... He grabbed batool's wrist and put her hand in irtaza's hand, even irtaza was surprised at this move of zhaigum but he immediately forgot it when he felt batool's cold and trembling hand.

Irtaza frowned as he held her hand in his palm, she was clearly shaking.... And irtaza immediately knew she wouldn't be able to climb the few stairs that were there, well it was clearly visible from the way aiza and zhaigum were holding her, irtaza Hussain shah the idiol of many people didn't want his wedding to be interrupted so he did what was necessary.

Irtaza walked down on the few stairs that were there and give a look to both aiza and zhaigum, his look clearly said 'hands off of her' aiza flinched and immediately left batool's arm alone, while zhaigum glared at irtaza before leaving batool's arm, she would have really fell down if it wasn't for irtaza who immediately lifted her up in his arms.... Her clothes and jewelry were quite heavy but it was no bother for irtaza.

Gasps and whispers were heard from all the guests, including aiza.... even Hamza and Shahan who were indifferent had surprise expressions not to forget zhaigum who was so shocked he froze.

The grandparents of the groom only felt a little surprise before they felt happiness floading in them, Hassan was only a little surprise before he felt a burst of excitement in him genuinely he was quite looking forward to the live romance infront of him.

Meanwhile the guy who was sitting in a corner in a hidden spot with emerald green eyes and ethereal beauty, he was also a little surprise but genuinely felt happy for his good buddy.

Everyone had some kind of expression expect the bride who was too panicked to even have some kind of reaction.
