She was stupified, batool was literally stupified by the turn of events, she was going to ask what he meant by it depends, but his grandma suddenly spoke up and that's when batool realized 'o.. Oh.. She was in the middle of her wedding ' but again what she was worried about wasn't the embarrassing moment but rather his words, she suddenly realized she shouldn't have judged him so quickly.... She labeled him as a gentleman just because he comforted her.... But who knows what he'll do to her after taking her with him.
Batool clenched her fist her knuckles turned white... Now she was afraid... Quite afraid of what was to come but she didn't had the courage to even speak up about it, because even if she spoke about it... he was her husband now it was only natural it was his right to do it, right?
Batool felt Troubled as she was put down on the passenger seat, irtaza buckled her seat belt before going to the driver seat he didn't speak or glance at her. She tightly grabbed the seat belt as a troubled expression was plastered on her face.
Irtaza sat down on the driver seat before also buckling his seat belt. He started the car and slowly drove away from the mansion meanwhile batool was in too much thoughts to even notice it she was panicked it was supposed to be her happiest day in life but instead it turned out to be the worst day ever, she didn't feel happy no... Not even for a moment... Today's events were a little too much for the orphan.
Irtaza was quite tired from all this hassle, when his phone rang he didn't even pick up because he was to tired to deal with anything irtaza knew what his assistant wanted to tell him but he didn't had the energy to get mad now.... So he ignored the call and kept driving well he could also deal with it.
She stammered "aren't you gonna pick it up?" batool was a little hesitant to talk to him but she wanted to see his attitude in private too... She saw how he was a gentleman in public but who knows he might just be acting, batool really wanted to see his real face now so she wouldn't have any expectations.
Irtaza hummed before replying "it's not important" batool went silent immediately, she didn't expect him to respond to her lukewarmly, oh well she couldn't not tell if his attitude was good or bad, irtaza glanced at her after hearing no response for a minute he saw her in a daze 'she's overthinking again' that was the only thought that came in his mind.
"by the way? Your name is batool, right? Or is it fatima?" Irtaza spoke akwardly, he never had to strike a conversation with anyone before, it was his first. Batool was a little surprise he didn't know her name correctly but again why would he when his real bride had run away, "it's batool fatima." if he had put in the effort than she should also put some efforts "what about you? what's your name?" batool knew she wasn't the best when it come to starting conversation but she somewhat had the idea how to start it. Now it was irtaza's turn to be surprise "you don't know?" a hint of surprise was visible in his voice he was probably surprised at the fact that she didn't know his name even though she was marrying him.
batool shook her head as no, embarrassedly. Irtaza suddenly stopped the car before parking it on the road side, he turned towards her he wanted to see her expression but her face was behind that veil "Irtaza, is my name but shouldn't you remove your veil first before we continue getting to know each other" honestly batool also wanted to see her husband's face but she hadn't really forgotten about her embarrassing appearance she was looking like a clown, but again how could she refuse... She had refuse before too she wouldn't be able to say no again and again she would eventually have to show him.
"can... Can you.. I mean can you promise me you wouldn't laugh?" batool muttered, however her sentence only made him feel troubled "okay" he agreed without thinking.
Batool took a deep breath before hesitatingly removing her dupatta from her face, her ruined make up was revealed... Her ruined mascara, lipstick, foundation and other things give her a really bad look not to forget those dried tear marks... It literally looked like a clown's make up... But again it couldn't hide her beautiful light hazel eyes, her cute plumpy lips and her really fair color. Irtaza was stunned on his place as he kept looking between her beautifully crafted face and ruined makeup that made her look quite funny... But most of all it was her tears that made him feel annoyed... One of the things he hated most in his life was a woman's tears.
Batool was grateful, her husband was really good looking with unusual features... His light gray eyes looked like a predator's eyes meanwhile his long eyelashes only give his eyes a more intense look, his perfectly styled black hair made her want to ruin it... She really wanted to put her hands on those hairs of his, plus the tattoos on his veiny hands ufff she gulped... She really looked like a teenage girl drooling over a celebrity, but again he was a beauty... And everyone likes beauty so does she.
She really hadn't expected it, she definitely hadn't expected him to ask about it rather than laughing at her for it "why were you crying?" his tone was neither cold nor warm batool really couldn't tell if he was asking her casually or seriously... Nevertheless she was hesitatant "i... I... Mmm... I.. " batool racked her brains for an lie but she couldn't think of any.... "w-well.... While my stylist was doing my makeup.. Something went in my eyes." it was the most stupid lie irtaza had ever heard... If it was a normal person they would have immediately picked on her lie... But irtaza wasn't one of them even if someone had lied skillfully he would have caught on it.
Batool cursed herself in her mind, for telling the most stupid lie ever but she was to panicked that time to even think of something else, what was unexpected was irtaza's response... He actually nodded at her he didn't expose her lie, batool would forever be grateful to him for it or else if he had exposed it she would have died right than and there.
Irtaza went silent after that, he didn't speak or did anything other than starting the car and driving away... Batool was stupified and wanted to ask why he was so silent but than she saw his serious a little too serious face, batool hesitated before deciding not to say anything else.
Irtaza was in deep thoughts, he again thought about the the whole day her trembling, her tears her being panicked and everything.. Was it because of zaryaab's prank or was it something else he was unaware of, if it was about that kidnaping why did no one speak about it to his family or him.. Are they trying to hide it or they just don't know about it, no matter what was the reason of her tears it was really annoying him, He was looking forward to eliminating it... That's when zhaigum's face flashed in his mind. He tightened his hold on the steering wheel.
The rest of the drive was silent.
It didn't take them more than twenty minutes to reach there, batool was looking out of the car window when they reached there, the car slowed down infront of the mansion's gate as the gate opened fully a few bodyguards came out and greeted them.
Irtaza just ignored them and focused on going inside the mansion, after parking the car he removed his seat belt batool followed his actions, they both got out of the car and irtaza finally spoke "have you eaten?" batool nodded as no.
Irtaza hummed "okay..." batool followed him while carrying her heavy outfit, irtaza wasn't walking too fast nor too slow but enough for batool to be able follow him easily, it almost made her wonder if it was intentional.
While they were walking she didn't see a single person on her way, 'why is there no one here?' she was puzzled but nevertheless that didn't stop her from following him, irtaza led her up the huge and elegantly decorated staircase, she was stunned at the beautifully decorated stair case but what stunned her most was the second floor... It was decorated with roses everywhere... Rose petals were placed on everything and also on the floor, irtaza looked unbothered but batool... She was overwhelmed with gratefulness she has never felt this overwhelmed before... Nor this much welcomed.
The feeling of guiltiness and gratefulness were too strong it overwhelmed her, her husband was too good to her but she ruined his big day... Worried him and not to forget had him ditch his once in a lifetime wedding she was guilty she had ruined everything for him no matter how much she didn't want to yet here he was treating her so gently and comfortingly, he was too good for her... Was what she thought.
"here" batool flinched as irtaza opened a door in front of her and spoke, he noticed it but didn't say anything about it "go take a shower... I'll send someone to give you fresh clothes... Oh and once you shower let's eat something" she nodded immediately as she hurriedly walked inside the room almost tripping embarrassingly but still carried herself inside elegantly, batool didn't look back as she rushed inside the bathroom with an embarrassed expression.
If only she had turned around she could've seen irtaza's smile, he found it really funny this girl was obedient a second than the next second she run away from him like he was chasing her, she was quite clumsy too.
But what he wanted see was... Was she really so innocent like she showed, he waited for that moment when he'll be able to see her true face but for now he'll give her the respect every wife deserves from her husband.... He was looking forward to... .
that moment.
