Ethan didn't get much sleep at night, tossing and turning and thoughts swirling in his mind. He woke up early, the weight of his emotions still bearing down on him. He looked over at Bella, who was still fast asleep with wrinkles of worry etched on her forehead. He carefully reached out trying to ease her wrinkles and didn't want to disturb her. He sat down beside her for a long time lost in thought and the sun was already bright into the morning. He quietly got out of bed and made his way to the bathroom.
As he stood under the cold water of the shower, Ethan felt a sense of numbness wash over him. He was still trying to process everything that had happened, still trying to come to terms with his mother's return. Her confident strides as she walked in.
