Creepy stalker

Rosie felt so tired from all the shopping, she laid down on her bed and drifted into deep sleep.

She only wanted to take a nap but it was already the next day when she woke up. Rosie was so scared, her skin would be ruined with all the make up that was still caked on her face.

She rushed into the bathroom to clean the makeup and wash her face thoroughly. She was most scared of ruining her face.

Her beautiful looks were the only assets she had with her. She couldn't bring herself to see them get damaged.

After a quick shower and a nice breakfast, Rosie was all set to dive into work. She decided vacating her apartment was for the best as she would anyway live the next four years in her University dormitory.

She packed all the stuff needed, while separating the things she could sell online. She already sold most of the costly items they owned and also her mother's antique collection. Having them around would only make her to miss her mother more.

She already promised her mother that she would move on and definitely would not dwell in pain and depression.

Rosie and her mother lived in this apartment for so long, they were many things to pack. Except for the inbuilt electronics and furniture, she basically needed to clean out the whole apartment. She started from her mother's room, looking through all the stuff in the cabinets when she found a tin box.

She opened the box to find many pictures from her childhood. There were also many photos of her mother during her early days.

She saw a picture that turned brown indicating how many times it was seen. In the picture was a woman dressed in a bright yellow ballgown with her black hair tied into a bun and a young man dressed in a expensive tuxedo.

Rosie instantly knew the man must be her father whom her mother said was dead because of ill health before her birth. But Rosie knew it wasn't that simple as her mother said. Or else, why would her mother stay single all this time without getting married.

The man in the picture looked so similar to her with his captivating blue eyes. Rosie felt her heart turn heavy as she thought how hard it must have been for her mother to raise her all alone, when she was just a 20 year old young woman.

Just then, the door bell rang startling her. Rosie tapped her chest, calming herself when she noticed the wetness on her cheeks. She must have cried in silence which she didn't even notice.

She was glad someone was at the door to distract her or else who knew how long she would have cried?

Rosie opened the front door and was surprised to see Regina and Henry. She was worried they would mind the messy apartment and cleared out a place for them to get comfortable.

"Rosie darling, don't worry. We are here to help you" Regina interrupted Rosie's actions.

Rosie was happy to know she had helping hands. Henry did most of the heavy work of lifting and carrying while the girls took care of minor things.

When everything was packed and done, Rosie picked her mobile to call the service centre she previously contacted to move the packages. She rented a small storage space to keep the stuff before they were sold.

However, Henry asked her to the stuff into his house, saying "Rosie, there's enough space in my house. You can shift all of them into the loft if you want"

Regina added hugging her friend's arm tightly "And there are enough rooms in the house"

Rosie didn't understand what Regina meant and looked at Henry for him to explain.

Henry said without hesitation as he held her other hand "Rosie, would you give us honour to be your family?"

Rosie was so moved, her eyes turned wet as she nodded her head like a pecking hen.

Regina and Henry had been her support pillars since the day her mother was hospitalized. It was Henry who took care of all the paper work and hospital bills. After her mother's demise, she practically lived like a wooden doll with no emotions. It was Regina's relentless efforts that made her normal again.

She's already old enough and was legally an adult and was capable of living on her own. But, it's good to have people behind your back who would support you at all times. Rosie would never forget their kindness.

Within an hour, Rosie got settled in one of the spare rooms of Thompson family's house. It was a ranch style house surrounded with beautiful flowerbeds and a spacious backyard. This house wasn't a new place to her as she had many sleepovers.

This was her best friend's house for the past few years, but it became her only home now.

The girls were so excited and decided to go on a drama marathon. They had totally forgotten that they have to move out soon.

...

The girls stared at the large iron gates before them as the car came to a halt. They looked above the gates to find a large bright banner that read 'Scarlet Hills University welcomes you'

The security at the gate checked the girls' admission forms before the gates were opened for them.

Henry drove the car for a few minutes along the long stretch of trees before he parked in the parking lot.

The girls were in awe as they enjoyed the spectacular views. All the buildings looked like castles from medieval period with tall trees and beautiful flowering plants all around. There were several statues of the founders depicting the rich history of the university.

The girls wondered if they jumped into ancient times as they looked around. They heard the university was five centuries old and was actually founded by the descendants of the royal family.

"This looks so much better than what we saw on the internet, right?" Regina said as she got down from the car. Regina was also amazed and she couldn't agree more.

The girls found a wooden board with the university map painted on it and soon found the location of the office building.

Henry took out the luggage from the trunk and asked the girls if they could handle it from there by themselves.

"Yeah, thank you for dropping us" Rosie said with a smile. However, she found Henry's behaviour a little odd.

"Don't worry, Uncle. I promise I'll behave my best and call you frequently" Regina said as she took her luggage suitcase from Henry.

Henry watched the girls with teary eyes until they walked into the office building before he got into the car. He couldn't tolerate his little princesses leaving him.

As soon as the girls entered the office, they found the related personnel and received their class schedule and details of their dormitory rooms.

Regina was so happy to be allotted the same dormitory room as Rosie. She couldn't stop laughing.

However, Rosie was silent. She couldn't stop this uneasy feeling in her heart.

"Regina, don't you think Uncle Henry's behaving a little weird today?" Rosie asked dragging her suitcase towards the dormitory.

They walked upto the dormitory but saw a middle aged woman with round framed glasses with a register in her hands at the entrance. She noted down the girls' details before she showed them the way to their room.

"No. Isn't he always weird?" Rosie asked walking ahead.

"He's too calm sending us away when he always follows us around like a creepy stalker" Rosie couldn't help but blurt out her inner feelings.
