Episode Five

The next morning

St hope Police station

A hot afternoon and a busy work day, Caterina and Rosanna came out of the police station.

" I can't believe that ugly ass man tried to take advantage of you" Rosanna exclaimed

"and thank God you haven't changed your outfit and also thank God the bruises he left on you are till fresh on your body if not for Aurelio he would have had his way on you, so if your Uncle and I hadn't forced you to file a compliant for assault and abuse you wouldn't have reported, tell me are you that stupid Rina?" Rosanna scolded with a questioning gaze and Caterina lowered her gaze to the ground as she folded the hem of her skirt, she looked up and wanted to say something but Rosanna interrupted her

" Don't you dare tell you don't want trouble, do you plan to live in fear all the rest of your life" Rosanna said as she looked at her with concern

" It is not like that, I don't want to be an object of ridicule, I don't want people's sympathy, I don't want to be pitied or avoided" Caterina said worriedly and Rosanna Shaked her head then sighed

" Who cares about people's opinions or sympathy, is that why you usually refuse anytime I offer to help" Rosanna said and Caterina Shaked her head

" I do care, I care about what people say, you don't know what it is like to be like me, a poor orphan an unfortunate child" she just closed her eyes unable to continue the rest of her statement and she slowly let out the tears that has be threatening to fall

" So you all telling me you care, so what if Aurelio hadn't saved you, you would have been raped and abused so what then, you will hide your face away from the world" Rosanna said yelling at the top of her voice and regretted it when she saw Caterina crying profusely

" I'm sorry for yelling at you Rina, come here" Rosanna apologized and pulled her into a warm embrace and Caterina cried on her chest wetting Rosanna shirts in the process, shortly after they disengaged the hug and Rosanna cleaned her tears

" Stop crying alright, I understand your pain Rina, let's get you cleaned up at my place" Rosanna said and flagged down a cab

Patrick residence

Patrick was sitting outside of his bungalow and sip his cup of coffee with a newspaper in his hands when the cops arrived, Patrick wanted to run away but the cops were fast enough to catch him.

" Let me go, what charges do you have against me?, you can't just arrest me without a warrant" Patrick said as he defended himself

" We do have Mr Patrick and you are under arrest for assault, abuse and harassment of Miss Caterina Lopez" A cop said and hand cuff him, dragging him to the police car

" I'm innocent I don't know what you are talking about, let me go" Patrick said struggling with the cops but they over powered him and forced him inside the police car before driving away.

" Thompson you will pay for this" Patrick yelled while the car continued moving

Peterson's Mansion

The cab stopped right in front of Peterson's mansion and Rosanna and Caterina got down, Rosanna paid the cab driver and he drove off.

Caterina and Rosanna stood in front of the average size mansion which was fenced all round and Caterina couldn't help but Marvell at the sight, it's not her first time of being there but the mansion usually fascinate her, the mansion was not too big, it had a beautiful structure and she couldn't help but praise the builders and architect. Her friend's parents weren't too rich but they were comfortable.

" Shall we go in" Rosanna offered and Caterina nodded.

The both walked inside and their noses was welcomed by the sweet aroma coming out from the kitchen. Rosanna's mother works as a chef and also the best cook as Rosanna and Caterina usually address her.

" Mhmm what a nice aroma" Rosanna said as she and Caterina walked into the kitchen, Rosanna's mother ( Vida Peterson) was busy cooking, she was currently slicing vegetables, she turned around facing the two food stealers as she normally address them, she dropped the knife she was holding and the two girls ran to give her a hug

" Oh my babies" she said as she embraced them she disengaged the hug and faced the girls, she looked at Caterina with concern.

" oh my dear how are you doing now, I hope that bastard has been arrested and how is your Uncle doing" Mrs Vida said rushing her words she was known for her talkative nature.

" I'm fine ma and the bastard has been arrested and my Uncle is doing just fine" Caterina said smiling at Mrs Vida and she returned the smile

" Oh what a wonderful news! that bastard should rot in jail how dare he, I'm glad my baby is fine now" Mrs Vida said and pulled her into a tight hug, she disengaged the hug and pulled her cheeks before facing Rosanna who was smiling at them.

" Take her to your room to get changed, I'm almost done preparing lunch, you both favorite, after you are done I would love to speak with you Caterina" Mrs Vida said and they both nodded before leaving the kitchen, the climbed the stairs heading to Rosanna's room. Caterina freshened up and wore one of Rosanna's dress after dressing they walked back down stairs, Mrs Vida was already waiting for them at the dinning table, the table was filled with lots of delicious meals. They took their sit and started eating.

" Mom, where is Dad, I didn't find him in his study" Rosanna asked with a mouth full

" Your Dad left for Korea" Mrs Vida said and Rosanna pouted sadly

" He promised to see me first before leaving" Rosanna said sadly dropping her cutleries on the table

" It was a sudden call; he was suppose to leave tomorrow but it was urgent, the patient's health was deteriorating and the surgery can't be delayed any further" Mrs Vida said dishing out food for Caterina already empty plate.

" I hope the patient gets better soon so my daddy can come back to me" Rosanna said with folded arms and Mrs Vida and Caterina started laughing at her childish ness

" What! He is my Daddy" Rosanna said frowning as she protested and they stopped laughing but Caterina chuckled

" Don't worry he will come back as soon as the surgery is over" Mrs Vida reassured and Rosanna finally smiled, Caterina looked at the two of the with admiration and wished her parents were still alive, she pouted sadly. Mrs Vida noticed he change of mood and asked her what happened

" Oh ma'am it's nothing just missing my parents" Caterina said and smiled sadly.

" Oh my I'm so sorry but don't worry you have us and you really need to stop calling me ma'am call me mom instead" Mrs Vida said and Caterina rose up and hugged her and Rosanna stood up to join the hug, the broke the group hug and went back to their respective sit

" Thank you so much Mom and Rosanna" Caterina said while Mrs Vida and Rosanna smiled

" Oh it's fine my dear and don't forget we are always here for you alright" Mrs Vida said and Caterina nodded smiling.

Soon it was time for Caterina to leave, she said her goodbye and was about leaving when Mrs Vida stopped her, she handed her a lunch box Caterina hesitated before collecting the lunch box.

" I won't be able to visit your Uncle so please give him the homemade food, my driver will drop you off alright and you are welcome to visit us anytime." Mrs Vida said and Caterina nodded

" Thank you so much Mom, Rosanna, I will take my leave, good night " She said and they waved her good bye…

The president suite

The news of the Senate president's death spread like wide fire.

" The Senate president was reported dead this morning , medical reports says that he had a heart attack due to stress and pressure of the upcoming election" the reporter said on the news. The president switched off the television and smile as he rested comfortably in his jacuzzi while sipping his wine.
