Lauren: Traveling

The next few days are brutal and strange.

These people make sure to feed us every night, though their meats are unseasoned and tough. Marissa was ill the second night when she realized these people eat the monsters they kill.

It makes sense, though.

Aside from our fear of these people who have taken us in. Sometimes, it feels like we're captives. And other times, it feels as though they're taking care of us. It's hard to tell what these people want.

Marissa, at least, has relaxed on her theory that they only wanted women. A few of the men have looked at her with some interest, but most of them look at us with what I can only describe as disgust. It doesn't seem like we're their type.

But why kill Randall?

Why leave Marian behind?

I wonder if I'd have the courage to ask these questions if we could understand each other. For now, since we can't, there's no point wondering. It's never going to happen.
