Chapter 8: Started Making Trouble in the multiverse
Nightfall
Abigail lay comfortably on Ding Muyu's body. At this moment, this place was nothing short of paradise for her.
Because of certain considerations, all the girls went to bathe together in the bathroom. Naturally, Abigail joined them. Feeling the warmth of the water, the softness behind her, and the beauty before her, Abigail wanted to shout, "The world is so wonderful!"
However, as she suddenly remembered her lost "little brother," Abigail sank into melancholy.
"Abby, what's wrong?" Ding Muyu asked with concern as she noticed Abigail's sudden mood change.
"Are you just tired? Kids get sleepy easily," Saeko Busujima chimed in nearby.
"But it's not time for bed yet."
Suddenly, Rei Miyamoto approached Abigail, placing her hands on both sides of Abigail's abdomen and started tickling her. The sudden, uncontrollable sensation sent Abigail into fits of laughter.
This, of course, pulled her out of her sadness.
"See? Now you've perked up," Rei said, continuing to tickle her.
Then, she was "attacked."
"Ah, no! Abby, I'm sorry! Don't pinch me! Ah..." Rei's cries echoed as Abigail grabbed Rei's chest and began kneading.
"Hmph! I may have lost my 'little brother,' but I can still do things like this freely now. Haha!" Abigail thought to herself as a form of consolation.
And honestly, who says I don't have a "little brother"? I've got a second, a third, even a thirteenth or thirty-third one! (Referring to her tentacles.) Who cares about the one that was attached to my body?
As she thought this, Abigail squeezed even harder, leaving Rei breathless and collapsing onto the floor.
"Ah, that felt great! But no, I need more."
Her gaze quickly shifted toward Saeko Busujima's ample chest, and she lunged at her.
While Abigail was having her fun, upstairs, several boys were busy sorting through their newly acquired weapons.
"I mean, girls bathing and guys peeking— isn't that the usual scenario?" Jing Tianhua whispered to Takashi Komuro, who was sitting beside him.
"Heh, forget it. I'm not looking to die today," Komuro responded, thinking of how strong the girls were, causing Jing to nod in agreement.
"You're right."
"Besides, they really seem to be having a lot of fun."
"After a long day, relaxing is a right for women. We'll keep watch," Komuro remarked as a noise came from nearby. The door had been pried open.
"Whoa, look at this…" Hirano Kohta's eyes sparkled as he looked at the weapons inside the cabinet.
"Ms. Shizuka's friend is really something. Coming here was definitely the right choice," Komuro said, impressed as he observed the weapons.
"Well, she did say her friend's a cop. Makes sense they'd have some good gear," Jing Tianhua added.
"This one, I like!" Qi Zhou exclaimed, holding up a shotgun.
"That's an Ithaca M-37 riot shotgun, an American-made piece of serious hardware," Hirano said excitedly, recognizing the weapon.
"Fatty, you sure know your stuff. What about the rest of these guns?" Qi Zhou asked, pointing to the other firearms in the cabinet.
"Of course! This is…"
As Hirano eagerly explained, Abigail, downstairs, admired her handiwork—several girls collapsed on the bathroom floor. This is what a strong person does, she thought triumphantly.
I wonder if the boys have found all the weapons yet. I better go check it out and try to get one for myself. A massive gun would be awesome, though a smaller one could do. After all, I've never played with guns before.
After leaving the bathroom, Abigail changed into new clothes. Although she had managed to avoid getting any blood on her outfit, it still felt right to wash everything. Now she was wearing a large T-shirt as she ran upstairs. And of course, she wasn't going commando—Abigail wasn't into public exposure.
Upstairs, the boys were organizing weapons when Abigail suddenly rushed over to Jing Tianhua.
Seeing her, Jing Tianhua was momentarily stunned. There was a different kind of allure to Abigail at this moment that left him speechless.
"Big brother, what's this? Can I play with it?" Abigail extended her hand toward him, her eyes wide with curiosity.
Jing Tianhua hesitated, unsure of how to respond.
"Abby, this is dangerous. Why don't we play with something else?" he suggested, trying to avoid the situation.
Play with sticks, huh? Abigail thought to herself sarcastically.
"But I just want to take a look! I promise I won't break it," Abigail said, flashing a cute, pleading expression.
"Uh…"
Jing Tianhua, unable to resist her gaze, felt his heart take a critical hit.
"Okay, but be careful, Abby. It's really heavy."
Gingerly, he handed the rifle over to Abigail.
Excited, Abigail took the rifle, chambered a round, and aimed it, pulling the trigger. The sound of the empty gun echoed, filling her with a deep sense of satisfaction. It's a shame the gun didn't have any bullets in it—firing a real shot would've been even better.
For the rest of the time, Abigail tried out several guns, unable to actually fire any but enjoying the experience nonetheless.
Meanwhile, the other girls had also started to come out of the bath.
---
On the other side of the city, a protest had broken out near the bridge. You'd think these people had no brains—seriously, protesting in a world overrun by zombies?
Then again, with over 7 billion people in the world, you're bound to have a few idiots.
But the situation got out of control when the police, unable to handle the crowd, had a leader shot in the head by an officer, throwing everything into chaos.
"No hope for them," Hirano Kohta commented, watching the scene on TV as the image cut out.
Back on the boat, Abigail noticed that Saeko had quietly slipped upstairs. However, she didn't say anything and instead picked up a pair of binoculars and went outside. What she was really interested in was Alice, the little girl they'd encountered.
Looking at the brightly lit bridge, Abigail leaned against the railing, bored. She wanted to stir up some trouble, but didn't want to miss the chance to rescue Alice. What a dilemma.
"Abby, what are you doing? Leave the watch to us. You should get some sleep," Hirano Kohta said, coming outside and extending a hand to take the binoculars from her.
Abigail handed them over and went back downstairs.
---
Downstairs, Saeko was cooking, Ding Muyu was resting on the sofa, Saya Takagi and Shizuka Marikawa were already asleep, and Rei Miyamoto was chatting with Komuro.
Seeing the two of them looking like they were about to get cozy, Abigail decided that when there was time, she'd help fulfill their little fantasy. It's not like anyone's using "that" at the moment anyway.
---
Just as Abigail's mind was drifting, the barking of a dog echoed through the night. Gunshots and blood-curdling screams soon followed, blending into the background of the undead's chilling wails.
At that moment, the lights in the house dimmed abruptly. Saeko Busujima descended the stairs with a calm, calculated grace.
"It's about time for the little girl to make her appearance, right?" Abigail muttered to herself as she absentmindedly squeezed Shizuka Marikawa's large chest, lost in thought.
Suddenly, gunfire erupted from upstairs.
"They're here."
The gunfire snapped Ding Muyu to attention. She had been relaxing but had dressed after her bath in anticipation of the coming chaos, ever ready to act. Standing from the sofa, she unsheathed her dagger.
Jing Tianhua and Takashi Komuro rushed down the stairs, meeting her at the bottom.
There was no need for unnecessary words. After a quick briefing on the situation, the three decided to head out.
Although the distance between the house and where the action was happening wasn't far, they knew that the streets would be filled with zombies.
The group had already made a plan for this—create a distraction loud enough to lure the zombies away.
As the trio left the house, Abigail made her way up to the second floor. Hirano Kohta was already in position, shooting down zombies with precision. Thanks to the gunfire, the zombies in Alice's vicinity had started to move in their direction. But it didn't matter. Hirano's aim was so sharp that each bullet he fired hit its mark, taking out a zombie with a single shot.
"Haha! I've never had the chance to handle something this big before!" Qi Zhou exclaimed gleefully as he brandished a sniper rifle, lining up a shot in the distance.
"Qi, have you found something that'll make enough noise?" asked one of the others.
"Of course. This will definitely do the trick."
*Bang...*
A gunshot rang out.
*Boom!*
The explosion followed almost immediately, the sound reverberating through the air. In the direction opposite of the bridge, several abandoned cars sat. Qi's shot had struck one of their fuel tanks, igniting a massive explosion.
One after another, the vehicles exploded, sending shockwaves through the surrounding area.
The deafening blast drew the attention of the surrounding zombies. Soon, the streets were filled with the undead, all moving towards the source of the noise. Meanwhile, the trio advanced along the wall, inching closer to Alice's location.
Before long, they reached the yard where the little girl and her dog were trapped.
It was a good thing that zombies relied solely on sound. After causing the chain reaction of car explosions, most of the zombies had already wandered away. Now, the only ones left in the yard were Alice and her loyal dog.
"Please, no! Don't come near me! I didn't do anything wrong! Dad… Mom…" Alice cowered in a corner, trembling in fear.
"Little sister, there's nothing to worry about now—because I'm here!" Jing Tianhua's voice rang out, exaggeratedly striking a heroic pose with a grin that showed his teeth.
"Stop with the jokes and get serious. We're here to save her," Ding Muyu chided, giving him a light slap on the shoulder before walking towards Alice.
"Don't be scared, sweetie. We're here to help you."
Alice's eyes filled with relief as Ding Muyu extended a hand toward her. "Really?"
"Yes, we're going to take you somewhere safe," Ding Muyu assured her, her voice calm and gentle.
Behind them, Takashi surveyed the situation from the doorway. "The coast is clear. Most of the zombies were drawn away by the explosion, and their numbers have dropped significantly."
"Great, then let's get out of here."
---
Meanwhile, back at the house, Saya Takagi appeared on the second floor, calling out to the group of boys, "Hey, get ready! We're about to leave."
Beside her, Shizuka Marikawa stood with a bag in her arms. However, she was completely naked, displaying her usual absent-mindedness. It seemed she had forgotten to dress after the bath. "Honestly, she's a total airhead," Saya muttered to herself, exasperated.
