Farming 101

The warm sunlight filtered through the trees as I stood at the edge of the town, taking a deep breath. The fresh air filled my lungs, a brief respite before I set out to hunt down the legendary beings. I needed a moment to ground myself—to feel normal again, if only for a short while. Teleporting near the town’s outer edge, I stepped into the quiet life that buzzed just beneath the surface here.

I let my feet guide me toward the farm I’d visited before, knowing the farmer there often had the best fruits and herbs for sale. My stomach rumbled softly, reminding me that I hadn’t eaten since dawn. A few apples and some herbs would be enough to carry me through the next few hours.

As I approached the farm, I saw the familiar figure of the farmer, wiping his hands on his apron and tending to the plants. He straightened up when he saw me, a tired smile on his face.

“Elara!” he called out in greeting, his voice carrying across the field. “Back again?”
